Another great read by Casey Kelleher ! It had me gripped from the first page and was one of those ‘one more chapter’ books that you find hard to put down !

This was a great read, really gripping and full of action.
DC Lucy Murphy joined the police force to “catch the bad guys” having suffered the trauma of watching her mother being brutally murdered as a child.
Gerard Jennings is a ruthless drug dealer who wouldn’t think twice about killing anyone that crosses his path. He also regularly beats his wife.
Lucy ends up putting her life on the line, and that of her beloved Nan to put a stop to Gerard’s reign of terror once and for all, but has she gone too far?
No more spoilers, but I really enjoyed this book, and am already looking forward to the next one

I want to thank Bookouture and Netgalley for allowing me to read this book.

I am a big fan of this author who has a very nice pen and talent, all her books deserve to be translated worldwide.

We find Lucy who meets Debra, the wife of the famous dealer Gerard Jennings. Lucy sees that she needs help. She is brutalized by her husband and refuses to tell the police anything. But Lucy wants to bring down Gerard for the safety of his wife and the Griffin estate.

As for Gerard, after the death of one of his drug dealers, he is under pressure from his bosses to prove that he is still up to the task.

Lucy tries to infiltrate Gerard's network, but her grandmother Winnie acts strangely, telling her that a man visits her at night in the nursing home when he can't.

A book read in one sitting, I was so hooked on the story that it was gripping, captivating, addictive, full of intrigue, suspense and twists and turns with very engaging characters.

Well this has been another fantastic gripping read from Casey. She really does know how to keep her readers entertained.

I loved the story, found it to be a real page turner right from the get go. Absolutely gripping and fast paced, plus great characters that are so well written that you forget they are not real as you lose yourself truly into the story.

I really felt for the character of Debra, all that she had to go through and put up with, yet she never gave up because of her two young boys. I met the character of Lucy in the first book No Escape and I love that she is back again in this book, she is a strong determined character, who certainly didn't have the best start in life but she sure didn't let that stop her from being their for her Nan no matter what and for helping those in need that she cones across in her job.

So if you haven't discovered Casey's books yet then I can highly recommend them especially if you are a fan of books by Martina Cole or Mandasue Heller.

I really enjoyed this book, didn’t realise there was a book before this one that introduced DC Lucy Murphy but don’t feel like I needed to read that one first as although references to her past there is enough given to understand.
Gerard is the local ‘hard nut’ his character is so well written as you can’t help but hate him.
I will definitely be reading more of Casey’s books as they are a page Turner.

No Fear Casey Kelleher
This book is another great installment of this series. I love the character Lucy, and her gran Winnie.
I really enjoyed the storyline, and it kept the tension well the whole way through. I love this series, and very much enjoyed this book.

I read book one after this one, but it made no difference as I knew what was going on anyway. However now I have read book 1 as well, it makes me really want to get to book 3! Lucy is our lead character and as both book 1 and this book show she is having issues with her horrific experience as a child. She was the witness to her Mother's horrfic murder when she was just a child. In addition she has the feared gangster Gerard Jennings to contend with. Gerard's wife Debrah is the victim of Gerard's brutality and Lucy sees that she needs help so she prepares to go undercover.

This story and it's characters were completely compelling and I spent the whole book wondering how much of her past Lucy would remember. It's really obvious how far Lucy has come and it's also evident howmuch danger she is placing herself in as Gerard Jennings is certainly not a man to tolerate police.  This book was definitley a step up from the first withmore danger, action and heart stopping moments. You can feel the tension has been ramped up for book 2 making me read even quicker than normal. This installment was an absolute corker and I am going to be eagerly awaiting book 3!

With thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for the arc, which I have enjoyed reading.
No Fear by Casey Kelleher is a gritty, no holds bar book about a tough estate and the men who run it. They deal in drugs and murder, the main man Gerard Jennings and his second in command Paul Denman, are hard men but Gerard is out of control using the drugs, he sells and drinking to excess. He beats his wife Debra and frightens his own two children.
It is up to the police, DS Morgan and his team, DC Lucy Murphy and DC Ben Holder to try to bring Gerard Jennings to justice.
This is a fast paced police thriller and it is highly entertaining.

TRIGGER WARNING: this book deals with domestic abuse
Lucy Murphy, a police officer, is still haunted by the brutal murder of her mother and the face of the killer. She has the more pressing concern of her grandmother's dementia and is struggling to stay focussed as the body of a gang crime member is discovered.
Debra Jennings is regularly beaten by her abusive gangster husband Gerard. But one night he goes too far...
No Fear is the sequel to the excellent No Escape. The Griffin Estate continues to be a source of brutality, crime and violence that leads to murders. I was instantly drawn back into the world of big personalities and high drama.
The emotional aspect of Debra's abuse is really heartbreaking and I was anxious for her to escape Gerard's clutches but fearful about the consequences. The danger and tension are well described and believable and it was easy to empathise with her character and feel revulsion towards her husband.
The grittiness and realism of the plot is completely compelling, as is the determination of Lucy to strive to do her best in both her career and personal life. I am hoping for another sequel as I wonder if Lucy's character will be further developed and possibly even discover the identity of her mother's killer.
Overall, No Fear is a really enjoyable book to read despite the nasty side to the plot and characters.

No Fear by Casey Kelleher is the second book to feature Lucy Murphy, police officer who has previously worked under cover and upon meeting a young woman who is a partner of a crime gang leader and terrified of him, realises she needs to return to undercover as a last resort to stop this man.
An absolute cracker of a book. Anything that Casey writes is always authentic, gritty and gets you right into the action. Set on an estate that is run by a dangerous criminal gang who are violent where drugs are rampant, these characters are all large as life and make you fear for Lucy on quite a few occasions. We see Lucy taking the gang on while struggling with her memories from other undercover operations, this woman is so strong and ballsy, I love her. Debra, the woman who she is undercover for, is the wife of Gerard, the nastiest, violent, man we could meet. This is who Lucy works to take down, but things take an unexpected turn and the tension ramps up.
I read this book in a day, it is that good, and I haven't read No Escape as yet, the first book but I had absolutely no trouble reading as a standalone.
Another nail-biting crime thriller from Casey Kelleher that had my heart in my mouth at moments, so good!
Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley for the book to write my review.

Yet another great read by this author. Great storyline and my heart was in my mouth more than once. The characters are believable and likeable and you really feel for them. Loved this book.

No Fear is the second in the series featuring DC Lucy Murphy (No Escape was the first) and as always I’d recommend reading a series from the start although this could be read as a standalone.

Gerard Jennings is the big bad in No Fear, he is a drug dealer known for his short temper and brutality. His violence doesn’t end on the streets with drug runners that are trying to cheat him out of a few quid, he is quick with his fists at home and his poor wife Debra is in danger of the next beating being her last. Obviously it is difficult for Debra to escape the situation she now finds herself in and she is put in an even more dangerous situation when she agrees to get the police involved in the hopes of bringing Gerard to justice.

DC Lucy Murphy is determined to help Debra and agrees to a risky undercover job to gain the information that is required but is everyone on her team looking to achieve the same thing?

I loved the light relief we get from Lucy’s beloved grandma but these exchanges are also heartbreaking due to Winnie’s dementia. Seeing how disorientated and confused she gets must take its toll on Lucy and those around her.

No Fear is super tense and I was seriously concerned about what the outcome might be. No spoilers here but I guarantee you an absolutely thrilling read!

I loved the first book in the DC Lucy Murphy series and was excited to meet her again in this follow up. But don’t worry if you haven’t read No Escape (even though you definitely SHOULD!) as No Fear can easily be read as a standalone thriller. It was great to be back on the Griffin Estate with Lucy even if some things never change in the neighbourhood from hell!

Lucy wants to help Debra, the beautiful young wife of nasty drug dealer Gerrard by getting him off the streets. Gerrard is a violent thug who beats his wife and has no qualms about doing away with anyone who gets in his way in and out of his home. When the death of a young criminal occurs, Gerrard is in the frame but Lucy needs evidence to get him put away before anyone else gets hurt. And why is Winnie her beloved grandmother saying a man keeps coming into her room? Lucy is about to join the dots of a case that could end up costing more lives than she’s prepared to lose…

Casey Kelleher brings her Griffin Estate to life with a cast of colourful and often unlikeable characters whose lives revolve around their neighbourhood-often a place they wish to escape but are trapped there. Ofcourse there are always residents who want to help and protect their fellow neighbours and Debra has her best friend to keep an eye on her and her children but there are some very dark moments as she fights for survival. The storyline following Debra ran alongside Lucy’s own struggles with her Nan and there were some real “heart in my mouth” moments as the previous dementia storyline continued here. Lucy is a great character creation and I love her! Her backstory isn’t mentioned so much here but it’s an integral part of who she is and why she does what she does.

A cracking gritty gangland thriller from an amazingly insightful author. A well deserved 5 stars from me!

Casey Kelleher is one of my all time favourite authors. Most of the time I don't even read what the book is about. I know I'll love it. This one is no different, exciting, nail-biting tension that has you hooked from early on in the book. My personal view is read the first book before starting this one, but If you are someone who doesn't mind reading out of order this could well be read as a stand alone.
I love meeting familiar people again, this is book 2 back with DC Lucy Murphy. This book is set in London on the notorious Griffin Estate, an estate I could read about forever but not actually want to visit. Coping with things from her past Lucy is a brilliantly written character, She has history but is also focused on the here and now. She has a job to do and she will do it. She's a strong and determined lady.
Lucy is set to go undercover and try and bring down a very nasty and dangerous man. Is Lucy really up to this job or is it all a front.
Things could go very wrong here and going under cover is never easy. When you have family issues that are playing on your mind this could be deadly.
Another action packed, gritty page turner from this very talented author.
