This is a well-written book, the text flows, and I did not even realize how the pages flew by. My problem with the book was that it actually starts after you've read half of the book. The first half is about setting the scene, descriptions and backgrounds. I don't think this is a smart way to write a mystery/thriller in a case like this when you don't need to have an in-dept knowledge of everything. The actual case itself started at the beginning of the second half of the book, and then everything moved quickly. I would rather have the actual story spread out through the entire book. The second half was intriguing, but it was over too fast. I felt this book was therefore out of balance; slow first half, and then a fast forward second half. I believe it would be an excellent read if the balance would be better. I like the protagonist, and I would like to get to know her better. 3,5 stars.

I received a free copy through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

As soon as I started to read this I new it would not disappoint. Such an amazing gritty ready Gerard is your worst nightmare a man to fear and it has you hooked for the first chapter. Couldn’t put this book down. Was terrifying watching Lucy Murphy go through the ups and downs of the Griffin Estate. Well done Casey another fab read.

This was a fast paced read with a lot of violence throughout so definitely not for the faint hearted.

I am a fan of stories like this, and I thought I knew what to expect. The author threw in a few side swipes though when she took the storyline in directions I wasn’t expecting. The sign of a good book is one which manages to surprise me, and this is a good book for sure.

Many thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for providing a copy.

A knockout read,
Gritty, Full of action, Fast paced, Mind blowing, with NO FEAR, this book has it all for me.
Gerard Jenning's and his men are the London's gangland, he's the face of their business, nothing more than a coked up invincible. and the heat is on them, they must lie low.
Bobbie Carter has took the bait and falls into their hands.
Debra Jenning's married to Gerard, has his two son's, she was sick of him alway's calling the shot's.
D.S. Morgan and his team were fishing out a body, out in Wandle River the shallow part of the Thames, its wasn't pretty, and becomes a murder investigation.
Lucy Murphy a copper is coping with her nightmares from her childhood, the face always remains a blank.
I couldn't put this book down, All the character's, all have a story all out for revenge, for one man.
This author has delivered to me another cracking gangland crime book, she deliver's what her reader's want to read to her best.
it will definitely leave you on tenderhook's all the way through.
I am giving this 5 star's but it deserves double. absolutely brilliant.

I have read all of Casey's books and when Bookouture accepted my request I was thrilled for this early copy to review.

We follow on from no escape following Lucy Murphy who this time ends up working undercover to bring down notorious Gerrard and helps his suffering wife Debra get away from him for good.
Can Lucy save Debra? Or has she put them both in danger?

I adore Casey's gangland style and her books just get better. I love how they are not predictable and keep you guessing throughout full of twists and surprises.

Casey's books will always be 5 stars from me

Wow oh wow!! All hail a queen of gang land crime, this book is one of the best I've read!!
I haven't been able to put this book down, Casey has gripped me from early on and made it completely addictive yet impossible to leave.
I absolutely love Lucy, she is a great and likeable character. It's no secret that I favour female authors, this is a prime example of why.
This book literally has it all:
Likeable characters
Characters you hate
Victims you can sympathise with
Crime world many of us don't experience
I've definitely had all the feels reading this book. There have been moments of anger, upset and where I've wanted to hit Gerard myself.
I absolutely love reading Casey's books because right when you think you know what's coming, she hits you with a twist and leaves you on the edge of your seat.
Casey has a superb writing style which just flows nicely and you honestly feel as though you are there. Definitely recommend this one and all of Casey's other books because there really isn't one any less than five stars.
This is a fantastic book, by a hugely talented author and I am going to be that person- I cannot wait for the next book!!!
