The second volume of a growing adventure series that focuses on three sisters in a fantasy land who regularly fall into magical adventures while trying to do the right thing. Familiarity with the previous novel is not vital as the author summarizes the key points and the previous magical mystery so completely resolved itself there is minimal carryover of consequence. This particular work has a strong nautical and pirate theme with occasional instances of mild horror. I think I preferred the first book, but would happily re-read this one and am very much looking forward to a third volume!
