I absolutely love everything that Heidi McLaughlin writes. Until Then is the second book in her Cape Harbor series. This book tells the story of Graham and Rennie who have been friends for ever.

Graham and Rennie have known each other for many years. They had a brief relationship and then became friends with benefits. They eventually went their separate ways and found new long term relationships. Graham's family issues caused his relationship to end and brought Rennie back into his life. Old feelings started coming to the surface the more time they spent together. Will these two finally get the happily ever after they deserve?

I loved the connection between Graham and Rennie. The secondary characters added lots of depth to the storyline. I can't wait to see what Heidi is working on next!

Until Then is book 2 in the Cape Harbor series by Heidi McLaughlin and can be read as a standalone but I recommend you read the first book After All first. This book is Graham and Rennie’s story and it is a beautifully written second chance romance. Their story is really heartbreaking and emotional but will melt your heart and end with a smile. What a great read!!! I really loved this book and highly recommend it.

3.5 stars

Until Then is the second book in the Cape Harbor Series. While it stands alone easily, I would recommend reading then in order. Most of the turmoil swirls around an event, and we are seeing how the characters’ lives are touched by it in each book. We are now getting Graham’s story; through flashbacks we get a lot of history, some of it is repetitive. There is quite a bit going on, but it works. We have a second chance with Rennie, the addiction of his brother, the growth of Graham as he moves to better himself. Rennie has a lot going on as well, she is questioning her relationships, her happiness and where to go from here. I had a hard time putting this book down and read it in one day. As there are still questions to be answered, will there be another book, who will the next story feature?

Thank you to NetGalley and Montlake for the advanced copy for my honest review.

A truly enjoyable read! While certainly a standalone book this is definitely more enjoyable having read After All. Loved getting to see Rennie and Graham get their HEA.

Everyone has that special person in their life that they wished they could have had more with. The would of, should have but didn't is a regret that surrounds the friendship of Rennie and Graham. Their connection lasted through time but neither one of them told the other of their true feelings, but when a chance encounter happens and Graham leans on Rennie to get through a family crisis the flood gates instantly open and the future is theirs for the taking. Will Rennie admit to Graham and to herself that true love really does happen? Will Graham once again put his family first above the one thing he truly wants in life? With high emotion at every turn of the page this was an awesome book. Family dynamics are put to the test and the reader gets more insight into Grady's past as well. The reader will instantly fall in love with Cape Harbor.

This second book in the Cape Harbor series does not disappoint. It could stand alone, but works well with book one. I really enjoyed getting to know the previous characters a bit more. I will say I thought one of the subplots was abruptly shifted, and felt a little flat in the middle, but it resolved well by the end. I will definitely keep reading the series!

It kinda dragged ..Rennie BF was a waste of time in the book. Rennie and Grahams story seemed to be more the brothers story, Alot was going on in this book . Wasn't one of my favs.

Second Book in a series, and technically a stand alone, although I felt as though I was late to the party at times.

That said, I enjoyed this story tremendously. It's a solid story of giving up the past and having a second chance at love.

Until Then by Heidi McLaughlin a five-star read that you would wait until forever for. This is number two in the Cape Harbour series but they could be read as stand-alone as they each feature a different couple of Cape Harbour, that being said I would recommend you read After all the first book before this one, as it tells the ack story of the tragedy of the cove, this one picks up the story and I hope the next will finally reveal the truth. Graham and Rennie are so opposite it really shouldn’t work, she is the city legal eagle, and he is the small-town barman, there to look after his brother who keeps up the other side of the bar. The thing is, as you read the story you see there is so much more to these two characters, they each have things they need to sort out, and fight for, is history and passion enough? You need to read this story and figure it out, you won’t be disappointed. I really liked how there was a real story to this one, there were undercurrents, twists and red herrings and marriages that didn’t seem all they were, it just added to the whole story and made it one that pulled me in and had me hooked all the way through.

One of the very best second chance romances I've read this year, Graham and Rennie's story is like discovering the heart of the ocean. Book 2 in the Cape Harbor series plunges readers into an emotional journey with these characters who are long overdue for some calm waters along the way. This must read will have you wishing you could pull up a stool at the Whale Spout and bask in all that is this charming seaside town. Five stars for an excellent follow up that leaves me excited for more novels in this series!

Omg I couldn’t wait to read this book. I absolutely love Graham and couldn’t wait to read his story. If you love a second chance romance then look no further. Graham & Rennie are absolutely perfect and amazing together. There story will hold your attention until the end. I’m hoping Grady’s story will be next.

I loved the first book in the series & was so excited to receive an ARC of the second book! Until Then is an emotional, amazing read about 2 people finding their way back to each other. The characters are memorable and the story line is gripping. I will be recommending this series to everyone!

Hmmm... Okay... I honestly didn’t enjoy this book as much as the author’s previous works. It’s decent, good written story with so much angst, emotional family drama and reflects the grief, addiction, heartbreaks of the characters realistically and if you keen on reading small town slow burn second chance romances, this book can fit your expectations.

But I think I was expecting something more sweet, soft, safe, swoon kind of easy read. And too detailed flashback scenes held me back to see the characters’ future selves.

I know two of them had an unfinished business and right now heroine is engaged, living in a big city as hero is trapped in the town to deal with his brother’s addiction problem and supporting his family emotionally and financially. So they aren’t in their best moods to think about the romance and chase their HEA!

This can be read as standalone but I think there are still some gaps to fill so you’d better start from the first book for better understanding and connection with the characters.

Overall: I think I was the wrong reader to choose this story or my current mood affected me negatively to resonate with characters’ drama. So I decided to give solid three stars. Neither I enjoyed nor I hated it.

But you should still give it a chance if you like angsty, sad, slow town family dramas, second chances love stories. The writing was still promising and I’m so sure true fans of the author may enjoy it.

Special thanks to NetGalley and Montlake for sharing this ARC with me in exchange my honest opinions.

This is the second book in the Cape Harbor series and while it is a standalone romance, this builds on the prior story a bit and therefore, would be best to be read in order. That said, I enjoyed this book a lot. In this book, we see Graham and Rennie achieve their HEA. The underlying arc of the series revolves the death of a hometown hero, Austin, who drowned when he went out on a boat. Rennie is best friends with Austin's ex while Graham is the twin brother of the man who went out with Austin on the fateful boat ride that led to Austin's death. Graham's brother became an alcoholic and Graham, wonderful Graham, gave up everything to try to take care of him. In the past, he and Rennie were best friends and in fact, best friends with benefits but time never saw them becoming a couple even though they both wanted it. (Communication, people!) When they meet again, Rennie has a boyfriend but she's not sure what she wants out of life anymore. She steps in when Graham's family needs help and they get closer. But can the timing finally be right for them to be more than friends?

I loved the characters. They were wonderful people who obviously loved each other. The writing was beautiful- descriptive and the author did a great job building a picture in my mind of this interesting small town. The story did drag a bit- I wish they got to where they were going a bit faster but there was quite a bit of the past angst they needed to get over. Overall, though, I enjoyed this story. Thanks to NetGalley for the opportunity to read an early copy.

One of the best series I’ve read!! It’s full of emotions, angst, with second chances for romance and redemption. Rennie and Graham’s journey towards their own happiness and desires is powerful and one that you do not want to miss out on. Be warned that once you start their story you won’t be able to put it down. Plus you get to fall in love all over again with the rest of the characters. Make sure you order this book so you don’t miss out.

Graham is one complicated amazing man. He will do anything for the ones he loves.
Rennie is one compassionate loving woman. She will do anything for the people she cares about. They have a past. They have amazing chemistry and there connection is off the charts. Could not wait to see if they would figure out how to make it work between them. A great heart felt read.

I’m not sure if I’ve just outgrown this author or what, but this is the second story in a row that I just enjoyed it a little. Which is sad since she is usually a go to author for me. I cannot pinpoint why I didn’t enjoy this one more though.
Overall, this story was decent, but not one of my favorites.
