One More For Christmas is the perfect read to get you in the festive mood. If you love Christmas, snow, reindeer, open fires and love, this is the book for you. One More For Christmas is the story of two sisters, Samantha and Ella, and their fractured relationship with their mother, Gayle. Initially set in Boston and NY, a snowy Christmas in a remote lodge in Scotland is suddenly on the cards as a result of a falling award and a knock on the head! Meeting the recently bereaved family who own the lodge, relationships are developed and each character begins to learn something about themselves. Who can resist the traditions of a Scottish Christmas? I guarantee you'll want to book a Scottish break by the end of this book! This book is sprinkled with Christmas sparkle and full of the feel good factor.

One More Christmas by Sarah Morgan is a most delightful contemporary festive offering that will have you longing for snow covered hills and log fires.
The novel is about families. They come in all sorts of sizes and shapes – some are loving, others are fractured. We parent the best we can but we always have areas of guilt where we wish we had parented differently. We do our best for our children passing on the life skills that we think they need but our children do not always thank us for it.
We witness the power of compromise when motivated by love as a family tries to repair the broken relationships.
We must not criticise others. If we have not walked in their shoes, we have no idea what they have gone through. To pass judgements without knowing the full story is wrong. Secrets hide past hurts. In order to fully understand what has motivated another, secrets must be revealed.
All the characters were delightfully drawn. They were realistically flawed and easy to empathise with. The dialogue was extremely funny at times as the reader witnessed some classic verbal volleys. I particularly loved the young four year old with her wonderful mannerisms. The story was written from several alternating points of view, enabling the reader to fully know the characters.
There are losses to recover from. Things must be done in new ways.
I loved the setting of the Scottish highlands with snow covered mountains. It evoked warm thoughts of log fires and snowmen, snow topped fir trees and footprints. Sarah Morgan perfectly captured the scene with her words.
It is never too late to have a new beginning. While we have breath in our bodies, we can always find a new way of doing the familiar, giving our lives a fresh, new direction.
One More Christmas is such a delightful read focussing on families. I adored it. I always love Sarah Morgan’s novels.
A word of caution: there are a couple of bedroom scenes with rather more detail than I am comfortable with but I just skipped over them. It did not detract from the story.
I received this book for free. A favourable review was not required and all views expressed are my own.

I started reading this Christmas romance and couldn't put it down; I was quickly drawn into the story and was captivated. The writing flowed so easily and the characters really came to life on the page. Humorous and heartwarming, it was a real joy to read.

The characters were so well developed that I felt like I was really getting to know them. I really loved them all, the way the family was drawn back together and have to deal with the past and the present was brought to life for me in this lovely story. As I said, I loved them all but Brodie, the Laird and self-proclaimed geek I just adored. He is so funny, kind and loving he just captured my heart.

Add in a Scottish manor, a Laird, lots of snow and some Christmas magic, then this book is a clear winner. I would highly recommend buying this book, then curling up by the fire, under a tartan blanket, with a single malt and indulge in this really good story.

Yet another fantastic festive book from Sarah Morgan, who will never fail in a brilliant story to include generations and our everyday emotional obstacles.
Spanning from New York and Boston to the Highlands of Scotland, the imperfect families come together for Christmas.
Everything you need for a yuletide story, from gingerbread to blazing fires.
Loved it! Just need to visit Scotland and those blazing fires!

Sarah Morgan has been a top five author (saying a lot, when I read over 300 books a year) for me, for many years. I therefore leapt on the chance of an advance copy of One More for Christmas. I certainly wasn’t disappointed, this author just gets better and better with each book!

The story is wonderful, full of humorous moments, and heartwarming ones too. The scene where Samantha thinks she’s talking to Kyle on the phone is particularly hilarious.

I love Brodie so much, he’s perfect. Appealing, and honest, and kind. Samantha is a great character too. She’s cut off her true self from what she shows the world, but she has good reason. I love the way she is open and honest with Brodie.

Gayle is a totally believable character, she’s obviously caused Samantha and Ella a great deal of upset, but she had good reason for becoming how she is, and she works so hard to do better and build her relationships again. I really enjoyed her character arc, and her developing friendship with Mary.

I loved the setting too, the Scottish Highlands are beautiful and come across well. They give a lovely, wintery, Christmas atmosphere to this story.

I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a Christmas story full of heart and humour. Perfect for curling up with on a chilly evening.

I was given a free copy of this book, my opinions are my own.

Lovely feel good Christmas themed read. Fairly predictable but no less charming. Definitely a read for lovers of Christmas, snow and Scotland. Loved it from the first page and will get you in the mood for the festivities.

A wonderful read from the pen of one of my favourite authors. 2 sisters, an estranged mom. A handsome Scot. What more could you ask for? Strong writing to match the delicious locations and heart-warming plot.

From the moment I met Gayle in “One more for Christmas” I knew I was going to love this book!! Straight away I was enthralled by this successful woman and to find out about how she is estranged from her daughters, how close they are and how they love Christmas (my ABSOLUTELY favourite time of year) I kept reading on and on. I devoured the story of the family travelling to Scotland and meeting Brodie and his family and along with the characters I fell in love, laughed and cried at times!! Sarah Morgan grabs you from the first word until you read everything and the only disappointment is when you reach the end because you want more and want to know what happens next! I highly recommend!!!!

A simple plot, but the strength of this book is in how Sarah Morgan can describe characters, human nature and relationships. Her insight into mother-daughter relationships is evident throughout the book.
Although I guessed from early in the book how it would end, much of the charm of the book was seeing how the author brought it to this conclusion.
An easy read and great fun.

I absolutely loved and adored this book! I'm not afraid to admit it was my first Sarah Morgan but it definitely won't be my last!

We have three main characters, Gayle and her daughters Samantha and Ella. The book starts with Gayle giving an interview in her office - we quickly learn that business is her number one priority! However she has an accident and when they ask who to call everyone is surprised when she says 'my daughter.'

The book is then all about the three women and the relationships between them. I was pleasantly surprised by this as it's unusual to read a book about an estranged Mum.

The book takes us to cold but magical Scotland, where time spent as a family will heal the years of rifts - or will it?

I gobbled this book up in one sitting, definitely one of my Christmas recommendations for this year. I could feel myself there with the family,

Thank you to Netgalley and HQStories for an advance copy of this book in return for an honest review.

Sarah Morgan is one of the highlights of Christmas for so many, me included. This book is lovely, it's a great story set in a Christmas card by the sounds of it.

I love how Sarah builds the secretly getting so much information it's like you know each character personally and your willing them on to do and say what's needed.

A brilliant read, a cozy Christmas festive feast of Sarah Morgan

***** - 5 Stars

Gayle Mithchel is a hugely successful businesswoman who prides herself on making choices that ensure her success and that of her business. Unfortunately her non-nonsense choices have led to the estrangement of her two daughters Samantha and Ella.

Samantha and Ella love Christmas. Samantha is a successful business woman in her own right and owns a travel company that specialise in Festive Holidays. The sisters always spend Christmas together as it is their favourite time of the year.

An accident results in Gayle reconnecting with her daughters and asking them to spend Christmas together as a family. As the family begin their celebrations they begin to learn that the best way to move forward is to face up to the past to allow their hearts to become healed.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It is exactly what I want from a Festive Novel. It has likeable characters (and some not so likeable who you do warm to). It has romance, snow and plenty of festive spirit.

I would certainly be interest to read more of Sarah Morgan's work.

A lovely story in the true Christmas spirit. What could be better than romance and Christmas. A Sarah Morgan masterpiece that did make me laugh, cry and wrap me with warmth as she promised

What an absolutely amazing read. I loved it from the minute I started reading to the end. Beautifully written and the description of the Scottish scenery was brilliant. I live in Scotland and really felt inspired to visit the Scottish Highlands in the middle of winter. What a strong powerful woman Gayle was, I knew there had to be a back story there. She reminded me a lot of my own mother who passed away last month. Tremendous story of love, hope and a family coming together to heal their hearts. If I could I would give it 10 stars.

Received an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I absolutely loved this story and all the characters. It’s a fantastically satisfying read emotionally and left me with a smile on my face. My only criticism is that I would have loved an epilogue a few years down the line showing how this wonderful Family had got on.

Initially, I found Gayle a cold rather unpleasant character and the estrangement between her and her daughters Samantha and Ellie seemed to dark to bridge. Ellie’s husband Michael and daughter Tab seemed too good to be true.

The family Christmas visit to Scotland and the entrance of Brodie and Mary and Kirstie into the cast of characters was beautifully done and the story just ran like a beautifully timed show until it reached its happy ending.

Sarah Morgan really has a gift for these family based stories and the mix of emotions and revelations about the past made this such an exciting read. I loved Samantha and Brodie’s romance. Fabulous story, beautifully executed. Half a star knocked off because there was no epilogue!

An absolutely brilliant read. Sarah Morgan at her best. Covers interesting subjects re families. Made you realise how we judge people with out knowing everything and how we protect our children which some times is the wrong thing to do. It was hard to put it down and go back to normal life.

A lovely romp through a Highland Christmas. With overtones of A Christmas Carol, brought up to date to include a female Scrooge, this is a really easy read, if slightly predictable but none the worse for that. The characters were well written, believable and their problems caused by lack of communication happen in many ordinary families. I look forward to reading the next one

Thanks to netgalley and the publishers for an ARC in return for an honest review.

It feels so weird reading Christmas books in September but I really enjoyed this. Gayle Mitchell is a successful, independent business women who frequently tops the bestseller lists with her self help books. When Gayle has an accident she reconnects with her daughters Samantha and Ella and decides to spend Christmas with them. They end up spending Christmas in Scotland at a country estate. The descriptions of Scotland were spot on.
This is a story based on family relationships and forgiveness. This was a lovely Christmas book and it put me in the festive spirit (a bit earlier than usual!!)
