Greenwich Park is a book that is well written and easy to read. The narrative moves along at a good pace telling the story from the viewpoint of three very different women. Helen the main protagonist who is heavily pregnant after several miscarriages, her sister-in-law Serena who, in Helen’s eyes, is everything she is not but would wish to be and finally Katie a journalist and lifelong friend of Helen.
Rachel meets Helen at her first ante-natal class and strikes up an immediate friendship. She begins to wheedle her way into the trio’s lives. Just who is Rachel and what is it she wants from these people? Keep turning the pages to find out.

This was such a fantastic psychological thriller which had me up reading late into the night, desperate to find out what was happening. It is one of those books that is completely full of intrigue and will have you questioning every characters intentions.
Chapters alternate between the points of view of Helen, Serena and Katie which were all intricately linked and will raise more questions than answers. Scattered through the book there are also random chapters / entries that appear to tell a side story, however we don’t know who is narrating this, what it is they are doing or whether it is even related to the events that are happening with Helen and Rachel. I especially enjoyed these parts as they really had me thinking and numerous times I went back to them to see if I had managed to uncover anything further.
As a fan of thrillers I’ve become accustomed to not trust any of the characters and there was no change with this story. Not all the characters were particularly likable which helped when it came to not trusting them. Rachel is a complex character who I didn’t trust, felt sorry for at times and then equally hated her. I won’t give too much away but how the author intertwines Rachel’s story amongst the characters was great and she shed some light on a very sensitive subject which I think was explored really well.
I thought it was brilliantly paced with many chapters leaving you on a mini cliff hanger and whilst you will probably figure out roughly what is happening early on not all is as it seems. The ending was great and concluded everything perfectly….the final line at the end was a brilliant way to end it!
Overall this has everything you could want from a psychological thriller!

Thanks to Bloomsbury and Netgalley for electronic ARC.
Helen Thorpe seems to have the perfect life, living with her architect husband in the fine old house she grew up in, by the park of the title, much-awaited baby on the way, university friend pregnant at the same time. But she's stopped work too early, and is drifting in limbo, lonely. She meets a vibrant woman at antenatal class and starts seeing more of her around the neighbourhood, starts talking more to Rachel about her life. Meantime husband Daniel seems distracted and distant. BFF Serena seems off, somehow. Is her husband having an affair?
Helen begins to suspect there's something going on between her brother and this new friend Rachel.
To say more will risk spoilers of this very fine debut thriller, which has all the hallmarks of a word of mouth smash and an ideal beach read (remember those).
The atmosphere keeps building to edge-of-the-seat tension as the story unfolds and secrets long-buried are uncovered.
The end was darkly satisfying and I look forward to reading more from this debut novelist.

** TRIGGER WARNING** Pregnancy and infant loss, Rape.
Helen's idyllic life - handsonme architect husband Daniel, gorgeous Victorian house, and cherished baby in the way (after years of trying) - begins to change the first day she attends the prenatal class and meeets Rachel, an unpredictable single mother-to-be. Rachel doesn't seem very maternal: she smokes, drinks and professes to little interest in parenthood. Still, Helen is drawn to her. Maybe Rachel just needs a friend. But her increasingly erratic bhaviour is unsettling. And Helen's not the only one who's noticed.
Greenwich Park is centers round two women, Helen and Rachel. They met at an antenatal class. The story is told fron Helen, Serena (Helen's sister-in-law) and Katie (Helen's brither's girfriend) perspectives. Helen and Serena are both pregnant but their relationship is a little strained. Rachel is a nightmare and why does she keep popping into Helen's life unanounced. The tension builds at a slow pace, there's plenty of twists and secrets. The characters are well developed, but some detaild seem felt a bit far fetched and a few loose ends needed tied up. This is a decent debut novel.
I would like to thank #NetGalley, BloomsburyPublidhingGroupPlcUKandANZ and the author #KatherineFaulkner for my ARC of /GreenwichPark in exchange for an honest review.

Wow this is one dark novel and one where no one can be trusted.
I'm finding it hard to explain quite what makes this novel stand out from others in the genre until it seems so simple; the impeccable plotting, the characters who are so brilliantly alive and the writing that swept me up from the off.
The backdrop to the story is pregnancy, Rachel and Helen meet each other at the local Greenwich antenatal class, good for Helen whose husband was working and her sister-in-law had made other plans. Alone for the session the two women partnered up and then their relationship grew until it morphed into something else.
The darkness within the pages is contrasted by the enviable lifestyle of the lead character Helen in her inherited home if you can just ignore the signs that all is not what it seems.
Highly recommended.

Wow!
What a fabulous read - this is the sort of book to curl up with and lose yourself, in a great story that starts at university, covers growing up, marriage, ante natal classes, and a whole lot else.
Very cleverly written, I had no idea of the twists and turns this would take. Written and told from different perspectives I did not want this book to end. A great thriller that was entertaining and believable. Would thoroughly recommend this book.

Although Greenwich Park is quite a complex suspense novel, told from the viewpoint of several different narrators, the plot was at times quite slow and then at other times it raced along. To me it was only worth three stars due its slightly patchy narrative pacing and unevenness in its level of character depth. The ending was a little predictable.

Rachel insinuates herself into Helen’s life, but why.? Everything appears to be running smoothly until secrets from the past begin to surface. Must admit I wasn’t keen on most of the characters but somehow that made it better

A brilliant debut with a well thought out plot and believable characters. I stayed up way too late to find out what happened and enjoy the satisfying conclusion.
Thank you to netgalley and Raven books for an advance copy of this book.

Loved this, was engrossed from the start! Just when you think you have sussed it something else comes along! Highly recommend!!

After many miscarriages our main character Helen’s luck starts to look up as her pregnancy progresses. She goes to a local NCT antenatal class where she meets a rather off the wall fellow mum to be Rachel. Helen’s life then rapidly begins to go downhill once again......
I absolutely loved this thriller....an excellent debut from this author. Twists, turns, secrets and lies galore. Can definitely see this one being made into a TV drama.
Thank you so much to NetGalley, the publisher and of course author Katherine Faulkner for the ARC in exchange for an honest review. I cannot wait to read more of your work.

Fantastic thriller, with a brilliant storyline that will keep you hooked all the way through.
The book follows 3 siblings, one of which (Helen) is pregnant. She meets the mysterious Rachel one day and from there, things start going downhill...
The twists were thick and fast, characterisation strong and suspense rife throughout. Loved this page turner, and will definitely be keeping an eye out for more from this author in future.
Also great to read a book set on this side of the River Thames for once too!
4. 5⭐

I have mixed thoughts about this book, I was very quickly hooked on it and then the middle third seemed to drag and then picked right back up again the final third of the book. There were a few twists and just when I thought I had figured it out I was blindsided and had got it wrong. I did enjoy the writing style though struggled to warm to some of the characters but actually that isn't a bad thing, you don't like everyone in real life so why would you in a book? On the whole I enjoyed it.

A brilliant twisty debut. I loved it. If you lobe Lisa jewel, Jo Spain, shari lapena then you will love this. Highly recommended xx

Ive just spent about a week with Helen. Helen is wealthy, and entitled, and privileged. She has a small, tight knit group of family around her, and then Rachel appears on the scene. Rachel's presence makes Helen start to question things, makes her look beyond her peripheral vision, makes her see the cracks in her not so perfect life...Who is Rachel? Where has she appeared from? And why is she making Helen feel this way?
This is an intriguing tale of love, loyalty, and trust.. A story that eads you in one direction, and then takes you in another. A page turner' of a book.

Wow, what an amazingly addictive read. Full of suspense and intrigue. It is a slow burner that delves into the relationships between old friends and siblings and a newcomer Rachel who seems intent on disturbing their peace. The characters are built beautifully and once you hit the half way mark the suspense comes thick and fast. Honestly there are some amazing twists and turns, every time I thought I had figured it out I was thrown another curve ball and left guessing again until the very end! An extremely clever story. Well done Katherine Faulkner!!

Told from the perspective of three siblings this is a really, dark twisty thriller and a great debut. Helen meets Rachel at ante natal classes and right from the get go you know there’s something really off. You want to scream at thee main characters to get as far away from Rachel as possible. It’s full of twists and turns some of which I guessed but that in no way spoiled my enjoyment. This looks as if it’s going to be a moss alive success.

Helen is married to Daniel, expecting a baby after several miscarriages and happy. Her brother Rory, is married to Serena also expecting a baby and working with Daniel in their architectural business. They all met at college and have been firm friends ever since. But, is everything as it seems?
Then here is Rachel.
Helen meets her at an antenatal class and very soon Rachel is everywhere and she wont go away. Then she does but where and who knows where she has gone?
This is a brilliant book - addictive. Couldn't put it down and what a twist at the very end!!

Really good read - kept me engaged all the way through - will look out for more by this author - would definitely recommend

Great book. Loved the plot and the characters.
Haven't read any others by this author but I would look forward to trying some others.
