This was such a heartwarming and also heartbreaking story. A lifetime friendship, a second chance at life to start over from fresh after the death of her husband, a second chance at first love as well and a beautiful setting that makes you dream with your eyes open.
I enjoyed immensely this book and if you are looking for a great story with interesting characters and a second chance romance, this one is definitely for you.

Thank you NetGalley, Mariah Stewart and Montlake for the ARC for An Invincible Summer. This is my personal review.
An Invincible Summer is the first in a new series Wyndham Beach.
Maggie returns to Wyndham Beach for her 40th class reunion. Meeting up with her friends Lydia and Emma gives them the time spent together full of emotions.
The story is so well written that you can feel the emotions from each character. Maggie left after high school taking a secret with her that she has never shared with anyone.
Each character has a story to tell and they all are told so you can feel and understand what their lives are like and how they combine to show the love and friendship they all have for each other.
The location of the story is fabulous. You can feel yourself there as you read .
I look forward to the next book in the series.

“Friendship is complicated. Families are complicated. Love is complicated.”
The occasion of their fortieth high-school reunion brings three women together who were BFFs those many years ago. In Mariah Stewart’s new novel, AN INVICIBLE SUMMER (MontlakeRomance) Maggie, Emma and Lydia pick up their friendship in Wyndam Beach on the coast of Massachusetts just where they left it.
The girls catch up over margaritas and the gossip, belly laughs and stories begin. Maggie left Wyndam Beach after high-school and got married in Pennsylvania. She has two daughters and her husband has been dead for several years. But Maggie left behind a secret none of her friends or daughters know about. Emma’s husband has passed. For years he fought with their son who wanted to have a career in music. Well now Chris is a rock star and Emma is lonely in her big house. Lydia, known at Liddy, lost her daughter to suicide. Her marriage crumbled shortly after.
AN INVINCIBLE SUMMER is about friendship, marriage, mothers and daughters, forgiveness and starting over. All ingredients for a delicious, curl up in a big cozy chair read. Mariah Stewart does such an incredible job creating characters you want to know and spend time with. This is the beginning of a new series and I can’t wait to see what happens next in Wyndam Beach.
Thanks to Netgalley and MontlakeRomance for a copy to review.

Reading a Mariah Stewart book is like snuggling under a soft blanket; it’s pure pleasure. I’m thrilled she has begun a new series. I like the setting of Wyndham Beach, Massachusetts. Maggie has suffered loss and is ready to shake up her life but is she ready to reveal some deep secrets? I liked all the characters and it was immensely satisfying to see one villain get just desserts. Grace showed a lot of growth, I was uncertain about her at first. One of my favorite scenes is the 4th of July parade, it was so well described its as if you’re standing on the corner as a spectator. Reading this book just made me feel good. The pandemic is mentioned in the past as I hope it soon is. And the author had me with Maggie listening to the BeeGees and mentioning a personal favorite, Disco Inferno.

Wow....this is such a fantastic read. It wasn't what I thought it would be, it was so much better, and to know it's the first in a series is exciting!
Maggie is a no nonsense, likeable lead character who is living with her own past decisions. Grace and Natalie are her daughters; they know their mum always have their back and I was glued when Maggie went to fight Grace's corner!
The story lines were quick paced and kept me hooked, you see where the future story lines are coming from and I for one can't wait!

The premise of this one was interesting to me. I always enjoy a coming home second chance story! There was a HUGE information dump at the beginning of the book that almost lost me. It was too much character info and backstory at the beginning and was entirely too confusing. I’m glad I stuck it out, as this was a charming story. I loved the reconnecting that went on, and the old friendships that fit like a cozy sweater. My thanks to the publisher for the advance reader in exchange for my honest review.

Mariah Stewart delivers with her newest series. An Invincible Summer is an enjoyable story about old secrets, old friends and past loves reconnecting. I finished it in just a few hours. This is a perfect beach read!

I look forward to reading the next in the series.

Relationship fiction, a woman and her two adult daughters reinvent themselves in the wake of losses. It doesn't start to get engaging until about the halfway point, and even then it's not very engaging. Stewart usually does much better.

Disappointing.

Well written, well rounded characters and a beautiful setting.

Maggie goes back to her hometown for her 40th high school reunion. She gets to spend a great weekend with her lifelong best friends Liddy and Emma. She decides to go visit them more often.

She’s avoiding running into her high school boyfriend because the cause of their breakup is still painful.

Maggie is recently widowed (two years ago) and she feels like the best thing for her is to be close to her best friends again. Maggie’s daughters are grown up but still need her too.

I don’t want to dig into anyone’s storyline too much because I don’t want to risk spoiling anything.

I liked the characters but I’m going to have to assume this is a series because most of the characters’ stories were just starting when this book ended. I want to revisit the potential between Maggie’s daughter and her friend’s son.

I got to read an early ebook edition from NetGalley. Thank you. Definitely pick this book up and take it on vacation with you.

Long time friendships, family, scandal, secrets and old romances/relationships will draw you into An Invincible Summer. Lots of forgiveness has to be found to overcome all the lies and secrets from the past.
Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and author for the opportunity to read this book for my honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.

Full of complex and complicated relays which all come together in one summer. A light hearted romantic novel although it does have it's serious moments.

This is a well written novel that follows a mother and her two daughters through their summer of healing. The daughters especially have had difficulties in life and love and their mother also had a past love that needed to be reconciled. The mother, Maggie, attends her 40th HS reunion and she, her daughters and her friends grow emotionally to overcome their pain. It was beautifully written, very detailed with good character growth. There are multiple character viewpoints so a lot of attention is needed to get the full gist. Sometimes it did feel a bit slow but overall I appreciated the character development. Thanks to NetGalley for an early copy.

Can you ever return home after being away 40 years? Maggie is returning to her hometown where her two best friends remained and created their lives. Maggie moved away and never really looked back. She broke up with her high school sweetheart without a word. Her friends never knew why or what caused the breakup.

Secrets can sometimes get messy if you don’t face up to them! Maggie moves back to town and things are going to happen!

The author has done a superb job of creating intrigue with twists and the flow is fantabulous! I am going to be anxiously awaiting the sequel!

I definitely would recommend this book to everyone!

I received an advanced copy from NetGalley and these are my willingly given thoughts and opinions.

All opinions are my own.

Let me start by saying that I am a sucker for these kinds of novels - multi-generational family stories, powerful female bonds, a dash of romance, and a seaside setting. What is not to like?
What I loved most about this book was the complexities of the characters. Secrets and lies, sure, but forgiveness and empathy as well.
I enjoyed the unanswered questions at the end of the book and am looking forward to the rest of the series.

I would recommend this to others, particularly fans of Elin Hilderbrand, Mary Alice Monroe, and Kristy Woodson Harvey.

Maggie, Lydia and Emma are three friends who have been friends their entire lives and have shared the ups and downs of life forever. They spend time together at the small town of Wyndham Beach- this seemed like such a magical place.
I really enjoyed each character and the pacing of this book. It made me want Summer to continue and be right with these ladies.
I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

Thanks to Netgalley for my advanced ebook copy.

A story of a widow and their daughters. Maggie, who lost her husband, reconnect with her best friends. Her daughter, Grace is struggling to accept that her husband, Zach betrayed and divorced her. Working together with Zach and his new flame, doesn’t help her. Until she found a way to relieve her pain. Natalie, Maggie’s youngest daughter is about to discover a secret that may change her perception of her mother.

I love how the story were written. Each character have their story to tell and love the warmth feeling that I have as I read this book. This book indeed is one of the best book that I read for a long while.

I read this book in one day. Are your wondering if I enjoyed it? I loved the theme of friendship and family. A friendship of three women Maggie, Liddy and Emma who have all had their share of heartache. Go to a 40 year
year reunion and from then on their lives change in very different ways. A painful secret kept by Maggie nearly fractures not only her friendship with these three ladies, but almost breaks apart the love of her two daughters Grace and Natalie. Moving back to her hometown to be near her friends and start a new life after the death of her husband brings back many memories for Maggie. The author Mariah Stewart creates characters that draw you into their everyday lives. Makes you want to know what will happen to them and why it takes Maggie so long to tell her secret especially to a very special police chief.. Some may say this book was your typical story of love, family and friendship. It was but I got so into the story I couldn't put it down. I would totally recommend it to anyone who loves friendship and love of family. Hope to read more by Ms. Stewart.
