"An Invincible Summer" is a light read focusing on family, long-time friendships and lost love. I wish I could say it grabbed my attention and held it, but it did not. The characters were a bit too predictable and happy-go-lucky. Most of the main characters had faced a good bit of hardship, but their struggles never seemed to lend to the theme of the book. They placidly rolled to the next event and seemed to leave the storyline flat.

Maggie Flynn returns to her hometown of Wyndham Beach for her fortieth high school reunion. She had left her home years ago hiding secrets that she had never shared with anyone. Upon returning Maggie reconnects with her old high school friends Lydia and Emma and decides to buy her old family home and resettle in Wyndham Beach. Returning home also means having to see her high school sweetheart Brett. But coming home also means Maggie will have to face emotions and secrets she has kept hidden for years from her friends and two daughters. An Invincible Summer is a great read and I look forward to the next book by author Mariah Stewart. AN INVINCIBLE SUMMER follows 58-year-old Maggie as she returns to her hometown of Wyndham Beach following the death of her husband. The book centers on Maggie's relationship with her childhood friends Emma and Liddly, each of whom are navigating some heartbreak of their own, and her two adult daughters, Grace and Natalie. It is a sweet book, in the vein of Wendy Wax or Elin Hilderbrand, and it is clearly the beginning of a series. While I enjoyed the book, it really meandered, not focusing on the main plot points until well past the halfway point. This affected the negatively affected the pacing of the book. Stewart had to cram too much into the last fourth of the book. While I became invested in the characters and would certainly read the next book to discovery what happens to them next, I hope the next book remedies some structural this book faced.

You can never go wrong with Mariah Stewart's books. I am always entertained.
This one brings three friends together for their 40th school reunion. Catching up on old and new times. Past secrets coming to life, old romances may or may not be renewed.

I absolutely loved this book. It is the first book in a new series. I can not wait to read the next book. The characters were very well done and you really felt the love between friends and family. I loved the ending, it was perfect. I highly recommend this book

This was an excellent book. From the start I was drawn into the story about a widow, her daughters and her BFFs. The books covers friendships, forgiveness and starting over. The characters are very realistic and likable. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to read a clean book about a wholesome family. I am excited this is the beginning of a new series by Ms. Stewart. I have enjoyed all of her books. I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and Montclair Publishing. The book follows Maggie and her daughters. Natalie is a mother of a 3 year old Daisy. Grace is a lawyer in her late father’s law firm. Both daughters are divorced. After a scandal with her daughter Grace, Maggie decides to sell the law firm and move back to Wyndham Beach. Her daughter Grace moves with her too. Maggie buys her old home which is up for sale. A lot of memories at Wyndham some good and some not so good. I loved getting to know Maggies best friends Emma and Lydia. There are secrets, old romances and new beginnings. It's about a women name Maggie who returns home to Wyndham beach for a 40th reunion. She reconnects with her old friends like it was yesterday. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book
