I always think I'm in for a treat when I open one of this author's novels - and I'm always right!

Kerra left her Cornish home to head for the bright lights of London and make something of herself; after the death of her mother the lights don't seem quite so bright and she head back home to Penvennan Cove to help out her father. But small places are full of gossip and speculation, and her life isn't as anonymous as it was in the capital city, and meeting old friends isn't always as stress-free as she hoped!

Another enjoyable read from Linn B Halton and I only had one problem with it - mine, not hers. I tend to read in accents and I've never really mastered the Cornish one; for some strange reason every time there was a Cornish name, in my head it sounded more Welsh! However, that doesn't take away from what a terrific story this is. With a wide array of characters, a bit of mystery, a spectacular setting and a superb story it kept me riveted all the way through. A real feel-good read, and refreshing in these troubling times when everyone seems to be out for themselves to read a heartwarming book with a lot of community spirit. Tremendously enjoyable and well worth every single one of the five sparkling stars I'm happy to give it!

Kerra came back to Cornwall after her mother died. She decided to stay in het grandmother's house that was left to her but was astounded to see it was so small. Next door Drew is an architect so they decided to do joint renovations that will save money. Ross her girlhood crush turns out to be the contractor

When the main character doesn't meet her love interest until the 37% mark, it's not romance—it's women's fiction.

The writing is competent and the characters are not without their charms, but I have to confess the disappointment in the genre.

Like the title says, it's a story about a woman returning to the village where she grew up after the sale of a successful business. It's a busy cast of secondary characters with an emphasis on friendships and relationships.

Readers who like women's fiction will like this book.

Kerra arrives back in her hometown of Penvennan Cove from the busy life of London. She feels that she needs to make sure her dad is coping ok after the loss of her mother. But when Ross comes back into Kerra’s life it of course makes things a whole lot more complicated. Can Kerra work things out and make a success of her new life? I can’t go into spoilers but it’s certainly a very interesting read.

Linn goes into so much detail with her narrative it makes you think you are there with Kerra. I thoroughly enjoyed this story about family and making the most of the challenges that you face ❤️ I especially loved the chemistry between Kerra and her friends. Of course there is always one character that I dislike but that’s what makes the story great.

I am very much looking forward to reading more books by Linn as I’m firmly now a fan. I give ‘Coming Home to Penvennan Cove’ 4*/5* 😊

Not my cup of tea unfortunately. I found the 1st person narrative quite jarring and the story quite lame.

Returning from her busy London life to the scenic Cornish village of her childhood, Kerra is a determined lady who doesn't hesitate to step in and help to get the job done. She's been very successful in the past and now wants to spend time with her dad and old friends while she decides what she wants to do next. Personally I occasionally thought she was a little bit arrogant, thinking she always knows best and assuming everyone is desperate to know what she's doing next, but her heart is in the right place and she wants the best for everyone she cares about.

There's a delightful romantic energy between Kerra and Ross and I enjoyed reading how their relationship develops and about their past. Sy and Tegan, along with a whole village of other characters add fun and energy to the story. Ripley the Bengal cat is a great character in her own right and adds plenty of drama!

Set in a village in the beautiful Cornish countryside, there is a strong sense of community and everyone knowing everyone else's business!

A lovely Cornish adventure full of friendship, loyalty and romance, I give this 4 out of 5.

Kerra has sold her IT business in London & is moving back to Penvennan Cove where she grew up & where her widowed Dad is running her mum's kennel business. Moving into her late grandparents cottage, where she makes friends with her neighbour Drew & begins to change her life. Lots of gossiping people in Penvennan who take an interest in Kerras circumstances & some make the wrong conclusions.
Nicely written book, easy to read & I liked Kerra. Interesting to see her friendships grow & where her life is taking her. A great book for a quiet Sunday afternoon.

Great book but i didn't realise it was part of a Trilogy and not sure if it's 1st or 3rd part, i liked the characters and it had a nice feel to it with no crazy romantic dramas for a change.

I might be late to the party but only just realised Linn is Lucy Coleman.

Drew her next door neighbour wants to develop his cottage so with a brainwave they decide to do them both matching so save on costings.

Ross from her past comes back into her life and helps with the renovations.

Can Kerra leave Ross in the past?

I really enjoyed this read, full of freindship, love and a happy place oh and a cute cat called Ripley.

Well worth a read .

Coming Home to Penvennan Cove. British author Linn B. Halton, who also writes as Lucy Coleman, has a winner in this book. Kerra sells her business and returns from London to the small town where she grew up. The story resonates because small towns are the same no matter where they are located. Everyone “knows” everything about everyone, gossip abounds, family’s have disputes, and people grow up but the fears of their younger selves often carry forward into their adult lives. In other words, regardless of our nationality human nature remains the same. This story is about friendships, new beginnings, accepting change and moving forward, with a little mystery thrown in just to keep readers guessing. I loved it! I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book from NetGalley. Most highly recommend.

As her dream home comes to life, with his help, they are also breaking down those walls that have them hiding their feelings. Both learning things that they probably didn’t think about themselves.

Soon as old and new friends come together the future for them is looking a lot brighter.
