This book was fantastic. Seriously.

A truly colorful book, with a friendly and attractive design, large print and magnificent photos.

Throughout the book, the author invites children to take care of the oceans, she mentions eco-friendly proposals that are easy to carry out at home. In the first half of the book each page is organized in two ways. On one side (indistinct left or right) there are comments that highlight the importance of the ocean to sustain life, oxygen provider, ecosystem balance, climate change, the resources it provides, eating sustainable fish, using ethical products. And on the other hand, we find interesting data and fun facts about fish species.

In the second half, it is dedicated to attractive and fascinating families of fish, such as pufferfish, angelfish, eels, triggerfish, parrotfish, seahorses, scorpionfish, trumpets, coronets, anemonefish.

More Fish Faces: More Photos and Fun Facts about Tropical Reef Fish by Tam Warner Minton is the second book in the Ocean Friends series. This volume offers readers more fun faces and more fun facts for fish fans young and old. Colorful photography — including the names of every fish featured — creates a colorful dive log worth experiencing again and again. The photos and fun facts are presented in small and easily digestible bites so your child can enjoy learning in short bursts or longer reads. It is a wonderful book for bedtime. Concepts like recycling, re-purposing, and sustainability are presented with photos and practical examples that are easily understood. 10% of profits will go to the Marine Megafauna Foundation to continue their scientific research to protect our oceans and ocean giants.

More Fish Faces: Photos and Fun Facts about Tropical Reef Fish offers readers exactly what the title suggests, a continuation of the colorful photographs and interesting information the All Fish Faces gave readers. Again, I found that the photographs were high quality and worth looking through the book all by themselves. I liked that each picture is also clearly labeled and that the accompanying information boxes were well written and chosen for the audience. I think animal and ocean loving readers will adore this book and its predecessor. I learned a few things, and really enjoyed the photographs.

My daughter loves when we read about animals, and do projects/crafts based round them, especially when they are colourful and exotic. This book gave us a chance to talk about the different fish that live in the ocean and what they look like. She loved it and really enjoyed learning all about them.

A very comprehensive look at ocean life. This book has enough detail to satisfy the more avid reader, but also a lot of colorful large pictures to encourage curiosity. Some of the more complicated words or concepts are explained in side bubbles. Activities are suggested for learning such as finding places on a map, which is very beneficial. A great educational book for middle school and beyond, and possibly younger readers who have an interest in ocean life as well.

A very neat and vibrant reference book for children! I actually liked this one more than the first book. As in, 'All Fish Faces,' this book features stunning photography of unique fish and really interesting facts. I loved learning about the variety of tropical reef fishes!

This was such a sweet children's book about fish, I really enjoyed learning more about aquatic animals in a juvenile setting.

Out of Order?

I had not read the first book in this series, so I was looking forward to what I thought would be is simply a children's book showing different fish and information about them. I was half right. While the book certainly does show a variety of fish, we actually learn nothing much about them in the first pages. Instead, those crucial first pages appear to be a vehicle for the author to express herviews on environmentalism and how it relates to the oceans. This section did come across as a little preachy at times, which I'm never a fan of in children's books. That’s not to say the author didn't share good information about actions that children or families could take to be more environmentally conscious and protective. The book did finally give way to more photos and actual fish facts. Perhaps that environmental section should have been placed in the back of the book. I've often seen children's books focus on the promise of the title and subtitle first (in this case, fish faces and facts) but then include a more tangential topic in the back.

Gorgeous photography with a lot of facts to teach kids about the various fish/sea creatures. I learned some stuff too! Due to the lengthy wording, this wouldn't be a book for really young kids as it wouldn't hold their attention.

The photography in this book is incredible, and the facts placed throughout are great for all ages of ocean lovers. My favorite are the sea horses, but I liked every section.

I read this book on my phone, as I didn't realize that the copy that I was going to receive would not work on my Kindle. I did not subtract anything from my rating for this but definitely feel like it would be better on a tablet or hard copy. It actually made me a little sad that this was on my phone and not my tablet because it takes up a lot of memory on my phone and I was hoping to share this book with my son. My son typically tries to steal my phone, so I prefer to use the tablet which he has yet to figure out that he can grab.

I picked this book up because we love fish in my home. We have several tropical fish tanks and love looking at the fish in the fish store. My husband and I have both been snorkeling in the Caribbean and this book brought me back to those fond memories.

The book is filled with pictures and has a ton of colors. It is set-up in a really attractive way and is a huge attention grabber. The one thing that I did not like about some of the photos was having the writer in them. I felt like it detracted from the animal itself that was being depicted in the photographer.

The author starts the book off by explaining a little bit about the book and her previous books. It then gives you the locations of all of the places that the book takes you. The book is filled with a ton of fun facts about each animal, the ocean, and even tips on how we can work on protecting our ocean and ocean friends.

It is written very simply and it should be really easy to read with a young child. The author even explains what some words mean. For example, she explains what "boycott" means in a way that a younger reader could understand it.

Perfect for kids who love the ocean and sea life! We homeschool, and this would make a great addition to a science curriculum. The pictures are gorgeous and my children loved the pictures. So colorful!

A great kids book for ocean lovers! The pictures are bright and engaging and there are lots of interesting facts. Did you know that most ice cream contains kelp?! The author makes suggestions on how to protect the oceans.

The author of this title clearly loves tropical fish. Tam has traveled the world to visit reefs in places including Australia, Ecuador. Indonesia, Africa, Mexico, Thailand and more.

Tam’s book is filled with detailed photos of the fish faces that were encountered and facts about them. The author encourages the children who read this book to learn more about ocean ecology and ways that they can help the planet. There are also many fun facts.

If you know a child who would like to see eels, puffer fish, trigger fish and more, this beautifully photographed book is a good resource.

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this title. All opinions are my own.
