My only real objection is the use of the word clean, which always bothers me in this context. The book itself, though, is very well done. The recipes are delicious and for a nice surprise do not require an entirely new pantry.

Very useful for healthy baking, enjoyed this title.
I really enjoyed the book's design, even in kindle format - the useful small notes about the recipe giving more than one type of measurements, so it's suitable for more people.
Great for satisfying your sweet-tooth!!

With a growing sweet tooth but also trying to be healthy, I'm so glad I have this in my kitchen. I'm learning alot and appreciate how easy it is to follow. I may just find my happy compromise yet!

I went through these recipes a long time ago but realized recently how often we still make many of them. So many good ones that the whole family enjoys!

This cookbook was exactly what I needed. I mean, everyone strives to eat better, right? And, as much as I love my packaged chips & chocolate... I know I need to cut back and head for more natural foods, made from what Fuentes deems "cleaner" ingredients.

Fuentes' recipes were the perfect solution.

The ingredients are all simple and natural, and able to be found at any local grocery store -- no special health-store trips required. And they're not too difficult, either! I found myself easily able to make every treat I tried.

The Apple Chips were a pretty great standout (they've become one of my recent favourite snacks!), and the Chocolate Mug Cake was delicious!

Ultimately, if you're looking to "clean" up your diet, this cookbook is a great place to start!

Laura Fuentes has created a cookbook filled with sweets and treats that are a bit more healthy than regular sugar and fat laden treats. Clean Treats for Everyone: Healthy Desserts and Snacks Made with Simple, Real Food Ingredients is full of tempting treats that will appeal to almost everyone, especially those on special diets such as gluten free, dairy free, etc. There are beautiful photographs of most of the treats, which is helpful, especially when these are not your regular treats. Because they don’t contain regular wheat flour, the finished products are a bit different looking. However, they are tasty when they aren’t being compared to their wheat flour counterparts. Many of the recipes are just remade versions of classics, such as chocolate chip cookies, lemon bars, and Snickerdoodles sans the wheat flour and unhealthy ingredients.

The recipes are written in standard form and are easy to follow. Most of the ingredients can be obtained at regular grocery stores, and are for the most part healthier. These treats are not sugar-laden and rely on honey and other sweet ingredients.

While this is a perfect cookbook for those on the gluten-free bandwagon, and for those who actually need to cut gluten from their diets for viable health reasons, it should be remembered that the treats don’t compare to what most of us are used to, and while some are tasty, don’t measure up to what most of us want to eat.

Clean Treats for Everyone is a beautiful cookbook filled with delicious treats. Entice your senses by whipping up something quick and easy like the 'Chocolate Mug Cake' on page 27 or if you've got more time you can try one of the more advanced recipes but still not too difficult like the banana cream pie on page 112.

Healthy(ish) desserts and snacks made with ingredients you actually recognize isn't always easy but it is with this cookbook. The photos are beautiful and you'll be pleasantly surprised with some of these sure to be new favorites!

This book is perfect for anyone that has dietary restrictions and even allergies! Most of the recipes are simple and easy to follow. The pictures are nice as well. You can’t have a good cookbook without great photos! I would recommend this book for anyone looking to curb their sweet tooth with healthier alternatives or simply explore new methods of baking.

Clean Treats for Everyone is a great cookbook, especially for those embarking on more restricting diets. The recipes are easy to follow and absolutely delicious. It will be an investment to get the base ingredients, but it is well worth it.

I'm not a "clean eater" but was interested in the idea. Having gone through the recipes in this book I've come to a couple conclusions : clean eating is no synonymous with health eating and clean eating is expensive. Yes, the recipes all call for "natural" sugars like honey or maple syrup, but sugar is sugar; andmany of these recipes call for relatively expensive ingredients (most notably, pricey flour varieties). It's a really interesting cookbook and I might try one or two, but these recipes wouldn't fit into our lifestyle on a regular basis.

An enjoyable cookbook that delivers what it promises. We have a lot of alternatives for classic sweets and candy. I like eating healthy and I found this helpful. The pictures were gorgeous as well.

A very well done cookbook that actually considers everyone and so it offers alternative ways to make the treats in case of, for example, allergies.
Which is something I loved since its actually surpsingly hard to find books that consider people that might not be able to use a specific ingredient and are left to figure out how to substitute it, so it was lovely to see someone really considering what people might need.

Its also a beautifully done cookbook and has a great range of recipes.

All in all I would say it's great one and worth a look!

Here's my TL:DR summary for my review. Recipes are good overall, but there are mistakes/inconsistency with weight measurements. "Clean" treats are best if you go in with moderated expectations; if they contain almond flour and coconut oil, they will taste like that. These recipes won't fully satisfy your cravings for brownies or other actual junk food, for instance - very few "clean" recipes will - but they will provide you with delicious treats that you will enjoy and will provide you with nutrition.

I love baking and I love sweets, a little too much for my own good. So I was excited to have a chance to flip through this cookbook and make some different, healthier recipes.

Fuentes makes a point that her recipes are "cleaner," not necessarily "healthier." That is, there's still sugar and oil in these - it's just honey or coconut sugar and coconut butter instead, largely. No refined wheat flour, but almond flour, coconut flour (in small quantities), and oat flour instead. And honestly, I'm for anything that adds more nutrition to what I'm eating.

I tried four recipes in this. First I tried the flourless brownies. I bake by weight whenever given the option, so I followed the weight measurements (grams) given here instead of the volume (cups). Unfortunately, we didn't like these brownies very much, in part because the cocoa powder's weight was off. She listed 7.5 grams per tablespoon of cocoa powder, instead of the 5 grams that I see on every box of Hershey's cocoa. These brownies were bitter, and very much like a flourless chocolate cake, but not a great one because of too much cocoa. I expect if I'd scooped the cocoa and used less, they would have been okay.

This weight for cocoa was off throughout the book. Next I made the Fudgy Brownies, which took almond flour. I measured the cocoa with scoops, instead of going by weight. (Cocoa's weight was off throughout the book.) These also took a liberal amount of coconut butter. These brownies tasted good. These wouldn't cut it if I wanted actual brownies, but they were chocolatey, almondy, and faintly coconutty. They reminded me a lot of Trader Joe's almond butter bars. We enjoyed snacking on these.

Next I made Edible Cookie Dough (although my husband argues that all cookie dough is edible). This was tasty, and a sweet yet hearty snack. Again, it tasted strongly like almonds and coconut.

Finally, I made Blueberry Oat Bread. I again ran into issues with the weights. It called for oat flour, but said it would be 90 grams. I knew that would be less than a cup, versus the two that I needed. I increased it to 190 grams, and the bread turned out, although a little crumbly. It could perhaps need more than that, but I didn't feel like doing the actual math. This bread was delicious, and I happily ate it. In fact, snack breads like this are the perfect thing to make with "clean" ingredients.

[You can get some kind of coconut oil that doesn't taste much like coconut. That's just not what I had. However, coconut sugar and coconut flour both taste kind of coconutty.]

There's lots of other delicious sounding recipes in here that I didn't get around to making. There is a whole section on "cheesecakes," which are vegan and made with ground cashews. I've heard that vegan cheesecakes are delicious, but they're not something I want to try.

So, overall, this is a good cookbook that makes delicious treats, provided you know what to expect out of the recipes. If baking by weight, be sure to double-check that the weights seem appropriate for the ingredient.

This book is filled with a lot of sweet (and a few savory) recipes. I really appreciated how the recipes were tailored to accommodate different dietary restrictions such as dairy free and gluten free. I do wish that the gluten free options also had a gluten friendly alternative as I have made some pretty bad gluten free recipes before that look quite similar to those in this book. Other than that, this book takes classic treats and turns them into healthier recipes that you don't have to feel as guilty about! I would definitely stay away from this book if you have a nut allergy though, but many things such as crusts or even fillings contain nuts and it's very difficult to replace them.

I will give it to this book - it definitely features simple ingredients to create gluten-free treats. Compared with other healthy sweets books, these recipes can be recreated by someone who is not gluten-free dairy-free and so on or not that into "clean eating".

When I read the title "Hmm.. clean desserts?". That's my thing! So many recipes I haven't tried yet. She mentioned a lot of substitutes for this and that. I really like this book. This book is promoting a healthy diet by using natural ingredients, unprocessed, raw. I learned so much from this book.

This totally lives up to the title. I love all the recipes, and they are all healthy. As someone with a sugar tooth, it has all the sweet flavours without making it overly sugary. Highly recommend.

This is a great book to read if you are trying to eat sugar free! I have been working out and watching what I eat since May, and this was a new way to hit those sweet cravings! There are so many options to what you can make!
