Cute alphabet story. My daughter likes the character. The book shows the child the picture first and then you turn the page to see the letter and word. It is a great teaching tool for early literacy skills

I thought that this book was excellent.

My daughter is three and we are leaving her ABCs and letters at the moment.

I liked the images used and the different words used too.

It is 4 stars from me for this one – highly recommended and a fun read!

Thank you for the chance to review this book. My thoughts are honest and given in exchange for the ARC.

I didn’t see anything spectacular about this ABC book. It is a typical A is for Apple style book. The pictures look like clip art. Nothing bad about it, just isn’t really good enough to be any different than all the other alphabet books out there.

A simple colorful explosion into the Alphabet world, where kids learn their letters and connect them with items around. A wonderful no-fluff educative kidilit that introduces kids to their alphabet and identifying new words through pictures.

A book to learn the alphabets. Each letter has one object to it. Illustrations were not that very impressive

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the eARC,

I didn't particularly care for the illustrations in this book. Other than "Buddy" being included throughout, there didn't really seem to be anything unique about this book of ABCs.

An ABC Book that Gets Them Guessing

This is a brightly colorful, simply illustrated ABC book for toddlers and very young children. There is not much to each page, but a silly cartoon of Buddy shows up from different angles on every other page. As is a problem with most ABC books, the author has chosen the typical objects, like A is for apple or D is for dog. I do wish authors of such books were a little more creative. What makes this book more fun, though, is that each letter is given 2 pages, and the author does not provide the name of the object until the second page. This allows the child to guess what the object might be first, before it is revealed. I absolutely love that idea for an ABC book. I have reviewed a number of them, and I haven't seen that before. I wish other ABC books did that as it is good for interaction and object recognition.

"My Buddy Knows...Letters" by Keither Wheeler is a cute alphabet book. Is it anything original or unique compared to other alphabet books? No. Will it appeal to a variety of young ones? Yes. It is simple and to the point--each letter is assigned one item that starts with it to showcase. It would be good to read aloud and teach vocabulary to babies and toddlers. Thinking of my 4 year old, he could read this book to me and show off his knowledge of letters and words.

NetGalley provided me an ARC of "My Buddy Knows...Letters" in exchange for an honest review.

This is a nice intro for a toddler to learn the alphabet. I did find the illustrations rather mediocre, however. But this would be good for just some play reading with a 1 year old or 2 year old.

Me and and my 4 year old have sat reading this afternoon and she absolutely loved it!
She managed to know what most of the letters were although W confused her as she has never seen a walrus or heard it mentioned before!
Cute little book that would be suitable for younger babies that you could read and point for them, or like I did with my 4 year old who actually read it to me .

This is a fun children's picture book that is suitable for babies, toddlers and very young children. It shows a friend called Buddy who presents the alphabet and each letter has one item that relates to it. The illustrations are very bright and colourful, which babies will love. My daughter and I enjoyed this book and we will read it again. I liked the way in which the child can guess what the item is and which letter is at the beginning of the word before there is a reveal which shows the correct answer. This is, in my opinion, what makes it also suitable for young children and not just for babies and toddlers.

Many thanks to the author, publisher and Netgalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Keith Wheeler has created a bright and eye-popping alphabet book. While it would not necessarily be my “go to,” it’s a book that belong on the shelf and in the hands of young readers.

This was a very easy read and helpful to children learning letters. It not only gives you the letter but will help with words that coincide with the letter.

This book is fantastic!! My 4 year old has been struggling with his ABC's and this is the first picture book that he actually sat down and engaged in with me from start to finish. Will definitely be reading this book a couple of times a day with him and will be googling the author to see what other helpful book he has on the market.

This is a cute book of learning what letter each item starts with. Buddy looks a little weird, but it is a cute book about learning letters.

I think this would capture a child’s attention. Not only is the book a learning opportunity but seeing where buddy appears on the pages was quite entertaining too. Simple, but colourful and effective, I think.

My students loved this book. They loved identifying the pictures. The bright front cover was appealing for the children. They looked at this book for weeks while it was in our classroom library.

Thank you to the author, the publisher, and NetGalley for granting me access to this title in exchange for an honest review.

My Buddy Knows... Letters is an alphabet book appropriate for toddlers and preschoolers. The format is "My buddy knows that [illustrated item] starts with..." and then the letter and text-only sentence are revealed on the next page, repeat 26 times for each letter. The illustrations are cute and the vocabulary chosen is a well-selected mix of typical and surprise items compared to other alphabet object lists. Everything should be recognizable or easily explained to children of the target age.

This book is great in the classroom and at home.

A good book to teach children to identify objects and what letter they begin with. I didn't love the illustrations and how they didn't seem to be a cohesive style throughout the book.
