I thought this book was different to your usual Dare romance, there was a lot of back story which played into the events happening throughout the book. Lola feels that her mother was scammed into selling her inheritance and so wants to buy the club back from her uncles estate, her brother who is the executor however is refusing to even listen to what Lola wants to do, Meanwhile Connor is also tryng to buy the club, he was wronged by the Uncle and his daughter and wants his revenge, what he doesn't count on is Lola! Lola sets her sights to win at all costs but as she finds herself falling fast for Connor, she needs to decide what means more - her inheritance or Connor?

This is a pacy, sensual romance with emotional conflicts and a massive external conflict threatening any chance of the couple's happy-ever-after.

The romance is sensual and the emotion that results pose difficult questions for Lola who is hiding a big secret from Connor. This story is true to the genre and is an enjoyable read.

I received a copy of this book from Mills and Boon via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

It was fast paced and had a sexy plotline.

The storyline was great and I thought that the characters were well developed too and they worked really well together.

This was a real page turner and I couldn't put it down!

It is 5 stars from me for this story - very enjoyable and very highly recommended!!

Fast Deal was an easy, undemanding read and I enjoyed it, but I would say that it felt that the obstacles standing in the way of the characters being together felt quite flimsy and easily solved. In my opinion, too much of the book was spent establishing these obstacles and then there was not enough tension in the plot resolution.

Faye Avalon’s previous books have always been winners for me, the first book in this series of no name, Slow Hands was a solid 5, but unfortunately Fast Deal didn’t come close.

“ ...once he knew the truth she might not be able to convince him that what she felt for him wasn’t all a lie.”

I generally don’t mind a romance where one party is economical with the truth—it seems to be the trope of the month from the Dare imprint—and although the characters were likeable, I’m not entirely sure that the the lack of chemistry I was feeling between them wasn’t a knock-on effect of my overall mood brought on by the lacklustre storyline.

This book was definitely the exception rather than the rule when it comes to my experience with the author, and with hints given to the next potential couple in this series, I’ll be up for checking their story out.

2 - "It’ll take more than a four-inch heel to put me down…" Stars!

Positives – It was a relatively short book that I didn’t struggle to read, and most of the sexy-times weren’t too bad (0 points for the tantric sex though).

Negatives - Keeping the truth from him just a little longer surely didn’t matter that much…

I really struggle with ‘the lie by omission’ trope, and the Dare line seems to be making it one of their regular roll-outs now, with it being in three of the last four books I have read by various authors from the imprint.

"I’ve got you for one whole night, which means we can do fast, slow and everything in between…"

Although if I am honest that wasn’t my only issue with this story. Connor and Lulu lacked any real chemistry for me, her constant internal self-assurance that it was okay to keep her real identity from Connor went on for far too long, and the story (especially the backstory for Lulu) was extremely weak, and I just found it lacking in all areas really.

This isn’t the first book I have read by this author, it won’t be my last either. I just didn’t get along with the characters or tropes used on this occasion. Fingers crossed the next book in the series isn’t more of the same, although I think the author hints at who they are in this one and I’m quietly confident it’ll be a winner.

An emotionally intense, erotically seductive romance about family betayals and unlawful deceitful business dealings.

An attraction that takes both parties from the agreed one night stand, to unchartered waters of emotionally recognised needs, commitment and dependability.

Business agreements and aspirations muddy the way, but true love and happiness will not be ignored and eventually wins through.

With a happy ever after ending in this romantic story of love and commited devotion.

The backstory to this was so boring and uninteresting, I really resented the pages which were devoted to it.

Connor, the nightclub owner, wants to buy this building so he can demolish it because he was treated really badly by the guy he thought was his mentor and the daughter, who he thought loved him. (With me so far?)

Meanwhile Lola (Louise) wants to buy the same building that Connor is buying ( from her brother (as executor of their awful uncle’s estate)., as a tribute to her mother. Has a one night stand with Connor and doesn’t tell him about their connection., time passes and she still doesn’t tell him and just as she’s about to, he finds out, is furious and walks out. Exactly as she deserves. He’s now been screwed by 2 females from the same family. (Still with me.?)

Thee are a couple of sex scenes which showed they were seriously in lust, but I never got the feeling love was the dominant emotion although the tantric sex scene was pretty steamy and emotional!

Lola was a priggish young woman - no alcohol, no ONS, but she suddenly fell into the ways of a sex kitten like an absolute natural! A bit of a mix for me - some really great scenes and clever dialogue and several over the top melodramatic tropes but overall a perfectly good read.
