A lovely Christmas read, gutted I didn’t realise this was in a series so have added the ones before to my list on Goodreads.

This is the sixth book in Susan Mallery's Happily Inc series, but I must say, even if you are unfamiliar with the rest of the series, this book can quite easily be read as a standalone novel.
Our leading lady Wynn has had a crush on her handsome neighbour Garrick since he first moved in, but she has been reluctant to do anything about it so has stuck to admiring him from afar. So when Garrick comes knocking at her door asking for some help, Wynn practically falls over herself in her rush to assist him.

This was such a beautiful, heart warming romance. It was brilliant being able to reacquaint myself with some familiar characters and find out what has been happening in their lives too.

A truly lovely festive read.

This was the perfect Christmas read if you're wanting all things Christmas and magical! This is the sixth book in a series, however, can be read as a standalone & I will definitely be looking in to the other five!

Lovely feel good seasonal book. It was just lovely. Romantic book you dream about. Great plot and characters. Perfect for reading over the festive period. Or at any time if the year. Christmas books can be enjoyed anytime anywhere. Very well written and flowed well.

I requested this book because I love a Christmas book not realising it was a part of a series, I did feel like I’d missed backstories that were mentioned. The main story of Wynn and Garrick was mostly unaffected by not knowing what had happened previously and at the end of the day it’s a nice Christmassy love story.

I enjoyed this festive small-town romance, which is part of the Happy Inc series. Wynne has admired her neighbour Garrick for a while without taking it further. When he asks for her help making his home welcome for his pregnant and estranged daughter, she has to help, of course.

The romance between Wynn and Garrick is gentle and sweet, almost like first love. Both have emotional damage from early parenthood and mistakes they have to live with, but both are good people who you want to find happiness, preferably together. Their friendships groups are supportive and add to the story's cosy feel.

Joylyn has issues most relating to her father, she matures, as her baby's arrival draws closer, and this makes her easy to empathise. The wedding the town is famous for takes place close to Christmas and is a perfect example of community spirit and friendship.

This story is on the cute side, but everyone wants a happy-ever-after at Christmastime.

I received a copy of this book from Mills and Boon via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

Happily this Christmas is the 6th book in the Happily Inc series by Susan Mallery, however it doesn't matter if you haven't read the first 5 as it can be read on its own as well.
Wynn has had a crush on her neighbour Garrick since he moved in but hasn't done anything about it, although she does like to fantasize so when Garrick knocks on her door asking for help she is only too happy to offer her assistance.
With Christmas getting nearer Wynn finds herself getting ever closer to Garrick and whilst it may be cold outside it is certainly heating up in Happily Inc.

I really enjoyed this festive feelgood romance, It was great to catch up with the other characters again and see what they were up to, I would absolutely recommend this read!

This was another fab friendship based Christmas read which I really enjoyed reading. I didn't realise it was part of a series till I looked on Goodreads, however this did not distract me from the story but I will definitely be checking out the other books in the near future.

Family and Friendship are at the heart of this story. I loved the characters and I was quickly hooked on the story and rooting for Wynn ad Garrick. I think I had a smile on my face several times when I was reading this. It's a lovely heart warming story perfect for a cosy autumn/ winter night in. Susan Mallery is quickly becoming a go to author for me.

Thank you Netgalley and Mills and Boon for the review copy in exchange for this review.

2.5 - "I’m going to spend the rest of my life having your back." Stars.

We return to Happily Inc for book six; Happily This Christmas finally giving us Wynn Beauchene’s story. I have to say that after the last book in the series; Meant to Be Yours being such a car crash read for me, I started this book with a large amount of trepidation.

My rating tells you that I didn't find Wynn and Garrick’s book a great read either, although as much as I almost DNF’d it @ around the halfway point, the second half was definitely better. My main issue is once again the author added a character I absolutely abhorred, and I really didn’t get her reasoning in making Garrick’s pregnant 21 year old daughter JoyLyn, so distasteful so much so her own mother described her as –

"A raving bitch with psychotic tendencies…"

If your own parent thinks that about you then you know you have some serious issues, issues that were dealt with, but for me just felt like drama being added for drama’s sake. As I said, the second half picked up but by that point it was hard to muster any real appreciation, also this book didn’t really fit with the rest of the series. In that all previous stories have read like Contemporary Romance, but personally Wynn and Garrick’s story fell firmly in the Women’s Fiction folder for me. If you are expecting lots of chemistry as well as love and romance steer clear, because for a couple in their mid/late thirties they spend a good 75% of the book going no further than second base. Yes the fact Wynn has a teen son; Hunter, and Garrick’s dealing with the re-emergence of his daughter; JoyLyn were a factor, but there was no spark or real connection between them for me apart from the fact they are both single parents.

Wouldn’t it be ironic if the very thing she’d been looking for had been right next door all along…

The pluses were we get to catch up with all the past characters, but in my heart I still wish that the author had kept Wynn with Jasper, I like Garrick but I just wasn’t wowed buy this book, and the story she gave him and Wynn. It’s a shame as the first five books/novellas of this series were such enjoyable reads and I would happily go back and re-read them, but the last two seem to have completely lost all of the things that made their predecessors so enjoyable, which was the low level drama, but high on heart, heat and community.

If there are more books due in this series, I’ll be honest and say I’m not sure I’ll read them, for me I think the town and locale are somewhere I’ll always love to spend time in but if the author continues to make the stories excessively high on the drama and angst then it’s time for me and Happily Inc to part ways.

I didn’t realise this was the 6th book in a series. Will need to get hold of copies of previous books before I can read this.

A great read that I couldn’t put down
Wynn has like Garrick for a long time but wasn’t sure how to ask him out. Her opportunity to grow closer to him comes when he asks for her help preparing his house for the arrival of his heavily pregnant daughter Joylyn
I loved Wynn, she is strong and independent with a fabulous group of friends and is a brilliant mother to her teenage son. She has a secret from her past that she struggles with but she is so kind, warm and inviting. She accepts and tries to befriend Joylyn even though Joylyn isn’t in the best place and is really struggling with being apart from her friends and her mum
Garrick needs Wynn’s help when he hears that Joylyn is coming to stay, she helps make his house more suitable with the addition of more dining furniture and trying to make Joylyn’s room perfect for her. I liked that Garrick was able to ask for help when he needed it and took onboard Wynn’s advice and it felt so natural that they would become friends. He has been hurt in the past and is wary about being in a relationship, he also struggles to understand why Joylyn is angry with him when all he wants is to be her daddy and have the type of relationship they had when she was a child
I loved this book, it looked at people finding love slightly later in life than most books, they are both in their mid to late 30’s with older children so they are different than so many characters but it worked so well for them and the story flowed and pulled me in, I only stopped reading when I realised that it was past dinner time!
I would recommend this book to those who enjoy a less traditional romance with so many ups and downs but which you will adore and with characters who capture your heart

It’s the season of love, forgiveness… and tidings of trouble!

Happily this Christmas by Susan Mallery. Review

So mills and boon had asked me again to review this novel for them I was sent the ebook to read and what a nice thing to read leading up to Christmas and getting into the Christmas spirits.

So the heroine is Wynn Beauchene a single mum who has a successful business owner and also fancies her next door neighbour policeman Garrick McCabe who is the hero in this novel. She has a son who most mothers will be proud of, the heroine is head strong and very good at of organising ( I wish I was this organised )

So the novel starts with the heroine trying to think of a way to get a date with her hunky policeman neighbour, I love how the author describe the daydream style of “he’d looked over the summer, mowing his lawn...shirtless.” Oh my 🥰🥰🥰

So what happens he knocks to ask advice regarding his pregnant daughter ( funny bit was she first thought he was referring her as a girlfriend lol)

So the hero in the story wants to make his pregnant daughter feel comfortable staying, he is a devoted father and comes across as a nice humble family guy who make good husband material and I can see why the heroine in the novel fancy him. But he is guarded as his marriage broke down he has no idea why his daughter stopped talking (that is why he is pulling all the stops when she coming to stay). But later in the novel you find out why.
And also losing someone on the job when he was undercover (spoilers need to read the novel)

His daughter I found at first a bit moody and was giving the hero a really hard time, and I love how the heroine told it like it is to the daughter but also helping her feel comfortable by getting her to make snowman’s decorations (spoilers) and as you read on in the novel Wynn becomes like a mother figure to her which I liked.

But as you read on you see the fractured relationship between father and daughter start to mend no thanks to the ex wife (spoilers)

There is Sexual tension in this novel and the author writes this well not too saucy but mid and it suits this story and they take their time.

I really enjoyed this novel, I like the whole family feeling to this and that the hero and heroine took their time with regards to their feeling again I keep saying this but I can see this novel being a hallmark Christmas movie, as this has this vibe when you read this novel

I give this book 5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A warm build up to a romantic Christmas for both wynn and Garrick lots drama and feel good romance novel just in time for the autumn
So if you are looking for a novel to snuggle up on the couch to with a cup of hot chocolate this is the novel for you

I highly recommend this 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

Garrick is excited when his pregnant daughter, Joylyn, comes to stay with him during the Christmas build up. Wanting to make her feel at home, he enlists the help of his neighbour Wynn to make the place feel more homely for Joylyn’s stay.

He has his work cut out for him as Joylyn is very difficult and he cannot work out why. As he gets closer to Wynn he tries to navigate the difficult task of winning back his daughter’s affections.

This was a romantic and festive novel with some unexpected situations.

Everyone in Happily Inc of course - after all this is what the town does - provides destination weddings. Not my first read of this series and hopefully, not my last.
So in this story we do neighbours and second chance romances; plus a few unexpected babies and pregnancies and how single mothers/fathers and others deal with them.
We concentrate on Garrick and Wynn, neighbours. She runs a printing and design company, has a son of 14 born out of wedlock; he is a Captain in the town police force and had a child when he was 17, who initially lived with her mother, but has come home to roost now at 21, pregnant, with her Marine husband deployed overseas.
Babies are very much the theme and how they grow up to become difficult teenagers! I am sure that many mothers will empathise with the problems discussed and the feeling that whatever you do you could be wrong but you just have to do the best you can.
And of course, you hear about some of the zany wedding themes that people can have.
As a UK person I still flinch when the talk comes round to guns and the police, and how the Military, in all its forms, has an element of hero-worship for many citizens in the States. The current situation in the States with police, guns and vigilantes re-emphasises this concern in me.

This is book 6 in the Happily Inc series. I felt you can read this book, even if like me you haven’t read any of the other books in this series.
We meet Wynn and Garrick in this book. They are next door neighbours and whilst they have only interacted with the odd Hi, they are aware of each other. Garrick comes to see Wynn to ask her if she will help him give his home the cosy feel, as his daughter is coming to stay, she is 8 months pregnant and her husband is on deployment – he is Marine. We learn during the shopping that Garrick and his daughter Joylynn have an estranged relationship. This novel is not only the story of the developing relationship between Garrick and Wynn but Garrick’s with JoyLynn relationship and we find out why it is estranged. We also see Wynn and her son Hunter’s relationship and see that friendship is a very precious relationship and friends will help you through the good and bad times. I loved the small town feeling in this book.
I would recommend this book. It is one of those that you want to keep reading it and not stop. So, curl up and be cosy, have your favourite cuppa and enjoy this book. I will definitely be going to the back list of the other Happily Inc books and reading them.

Christmas is a season to heal and be loved, to be with the people you love and let them help you. For me, Christmas has always had a special meaning with sweet memories and love. Possibly this is why I loved so much this story, it shows the reader the importance of family and love in a lovely story.
This book is based on Wynn and Garrick, they are neighbours and as good neighbours they try to help each other with their problems, but when feelings start to be involved in their friendship they know that this could be more than a flirt. Are they ready for it?
We will not only read about Wynn and Garrick’s love story but also about their families problems in a very interesting and addictive way, because any reader will feel reflected on their situations; the need to be there when your children are hurting, trying to keep them happy and helping everyone around them. A single mother with a teenager or a father with an estranged daughter are never easy; but both families will use this Christmas to heal their wounds and discover the “power” of the family. Because, no matter how hurt or disappointed you can be, sometimes feeling loved and cared is the only think we need.
I really enjoyed this book, it is slow paced and full of emotions, it was easy to feel part of the story and want to know more about the characters and the neighbours that surround them. I really can’t wait to arrive at Christmas and read the story again with all the Christmas lights on! 😉

A little slice of Heaven. This was a delight to read. I’m quite new to Susan Mallery but I’m loving everything I read. I didn’t know this was part of a series which in hind sight explains all the info and catch up there was on other seemingly minor characters which, being a newbie I hadn’t met before, if I had previous knowledge of them then learning all their updates would have been wonderful. Saying that it in no way detracted from my enjoyment of this book and can be read as a complete standalone.
I love Garrick and Wynn as individuals and as a couple. I was concerned early on that Wynn seemed too perfect but as the story progressed and her back story was revealed it certainly help her to be more real and relatable. Garrick is an amazing g character and his love for his daughter is beautiful, his devotion to her when he was still a kid himself is commendable and the fact he’s willing to talk about his feeling and be real and honest with her is beautiful.
The whole story flowed beautifully and the love and friendship was touching amongst all the characters. Before I knew it I was finished reading and wishing there was more.

Welcome back to the town of Happily Inc. Meet familiar friends and explore the potential relationship between Wynn and Garrick, with a pregnant adult daughter with a rocky relationship with her dad. A deployed husband for the daughter and a roller-coaster of hormones. A teenager who is protective of his mum and a group of mutual friends in the story add extra background and character. Susan Mallery does not let you down. An excellent Christmas read.

I loved this book. I would have read it in a day had a migraine not derailed the reading process.

I am a very great fan of Susan Mallery's books but especially the Fools Gold Series and Happily Inc Series, so when Netgalley offered me the chance to review this book it was like Christmas had come early.

This time it is covering Wynn's story and it was so great to see her at the front for a book, her son Hunter is now growing up and she is now wondering where her life is going to go now, after all her years of focusing on her son its now time for her to focus on herself and just maybe the Police Chief who lives across the street.

Garrick is the same Police Chief across the street and he has problems of his own, he is estranged from his daughter and sworn off relationships after the breakdown of his previous marriage, but things are changing his daughter is forced back into his life and its up to Garrick to repair the bridges with a little help from Wynn.

It was a fantastic story and I loved the fact you got to catch up with all the previous couples along with Millie and Kobe.

If you are looking for a great Christmas book to cheer you up during this extremely strange year I can definitely recommend this one.
