Meg Scott is preparing for her first solo Christmas. Purposely away from her family she’s trying to fully enjoy the Christmas season. Though things aren’t going as planned, and her family might not be as far away as she thought.

In the meantime we have Tom Riley-Clark, who is helping out his friend at the local Apple Cross Inn at the bar. A Christmas-hating hunk who is the complete opposite of everything Meg ever wanted. Or is it? He turns out to have some music-related secrets that he tries to hide from the world.

This was such a great book in the cozy romance genre. It grabbed my interest from the beginning, enough is happening to not be bored, and most importantly the Christmas setting. This book screamed Christmas to me. I mean Meg owns a year-round Christmas shop. As well as the coziness which the town of Lockton represents perfectly. All I could think was that I want to be there and celebrate Christmas in such a setting.

The characters of this book were also diverse enough that they didn’t become too flat and boring, and that’s for the main characters as well as the side characters. The people in the story felt like a tight-knit community that helps each other a lot and that’s what also brings the warmth inside me while reading it. They each had their own personality and uniqueness that made them different.

Super cute, super Christmassy read filled with love, misunderstandings and forgiveness! I will definitely look for more by this author!

Gentle romantic reading for Christmas time escape. You know where the story is going from the start but it doesn't really matter because it's still engaging.

If Every Day Was Christmas by Donna Ashcroft is a standalone contemporary romance novel. This romance is of course set during the Christmas holiday season as the title indicates.

If Every Day Was Christmas is another holiday romance which takes the biggest Christmas loving person you can find and cross their path with the Grinchiest grouch. Meg Scott loves the holiday and runs a year round shop dedicated to all things Christmas and Tom Riley-Clark wants nothing to do with the Christmas season but the pair are drawn to one another this holiday season.

If Every Day Was Christmas by Donna Ashcroft is another sweet small town holiday romance that oozed all their is of the Christmas season. I’ve come to enjoy these enemies to lovers type of reads where it’s Christmas vs the Grinch in a romantic holiday package. This one had the lovely setting of a charming Scottish village to boot and I always enjoy those exotic to me locales so that made a great bow wrapped around it to tie it altogether.

I love Donna Ashcroft books and this one is no exception. Set in the Scottish Highlands in the lovely village of Lockton it is a lovely cosy read that will get you in the mood for Christmas. Meg and Tom are good main characters with a great cast of extras that make this a warmhearted read perfect to curl up in front of a fire with

This was a quick, festive read. I didn’t love this unfortunately, I found Meg to be rather self-centred which became really tedious at 70%. It felt like there was a lot of back and forth and hurt fillings that started to feel a bit like filler to pack the book out. Meg’s parents also irritated me and I didn’t enjoy this aspect of the narrative. However, it had a sweet ending.

Christmassy, cosy and a crackling community of characters! Loved how their stories interweaved, intoxicated by Tom and Meg’s burgeoning chemistry, and with a bonus whodunnit thrown in. Beautiful festive story of two lost souls, one wrapped in all things Christmas and one avoiding it like the plague. A little reindeer and a sprinkling of Christmas magic results in a heart warming tale of loss , kindness , family and love . Fabulous

I love the characters in this book and I love Donna's writing style, she's such a brilliant author. I cant wait to read more.

The characters in this book are really relatable and I enjoy following their growing relationships and friendships and mixed in with Christmas which is not a good time for all so it's an interesting read because it includes some of the ups and downs or Christmas time.

The characters are fun and I love the small-town feel of it. This book brought all the warm, cozy Christmas feelings for that quintessential holiday read. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a quick, uplifting Christmas book.

This felt like watching a Christmas movie, and I loved it! I loved seeing the relationship between Meg and her family, it felt so realistic. I also always adore a hero who hates Christmas but comes around for his Christmas-obsessed sweetheart!

There comes a point—usually during the couple of days following Thanksgiving—when, fueled by turkey and sweet potatoes. Strands of lights start illuminating all the cracks and crevices. There’s a constant smell of cookies drifting from the oven. Yes, it’s all a big fuss for Christmas, but I can’t help it. Since it only comes once a year, I like to make the most of it.

Meg Scott doesn’t have that need. No, as proprietor of a shop focused on that particular holiday, she always sees the world in shades of red and green. She’s devoted to the season and author Donna Ashcroft uses this obsession to highlight her downright bubbly personality. After all, how can anyone willing to parade around in an elf costume to drum up customers be anything other than charming? Meg practically radiates snowflakes and hot chocolate from the moment she appears on the page.

Yet Ashcroft never veers into the saccharine. Instead, Meg, while embodying the generous and fun parts of the season, remains a realist. So when Tom, a scrooge with a sackful of secrets, shows up in her idyllic village, she’s puzzled by him, but Ashcroft doesn’t let her haunt him like three spirits forcing a change of heart. It’s a burn as slow as a log fire—and just as fiery—with the two gradually getting to know each other, their pasts, and, of course, their problems.

Of which even this winter wonderland has more than a few. While the town itself has a couple of aches, Ashcroft centers the bulk of the drama on her characters. Meg struggles with her family while Tom struggles with himself. Their issues are tactfully dealt with and, in an environment surrounded be Christmas magic, they feel real. While every page feels like a traditional romance, Ashcroft expertly infuses drama and tension, making Meg’s potential happily ever after feel far from certain.

Ultimately, the idea of having Christmas every day is probably best left as a dream. Eventually, the lights burn out and there are only so many days in a row I can bake sugar cookies. Thankfully, Donna Ashcroft has provided the perfect bit of Christmas magic that’s enjoyable any time of year.

This book is part of a series, a fact I was not aware of when I picked it up. It did not affect my reading experience since they explained significant plot points from previous visits and let the reader get a feel for the town and its inhabitants.
In this relatively short narrative, it's Christmas, and our female lead runs a Christmas themed shop, so things are extra special in the first chapter, but things are about to change. Meg is a lovable character who owns her quirkiness of wanting glitter and all the hullabaloo the season has to offer. Her unapologetic and unabashed love for the celebratory mood is in direct contradiction to the male lead - Tom. He hates Christmas for more reasons than one and with good reason, once you hear his story.
This is definitely a book about how opposites attract and even repel a couple of times. Both have baggage, and they might just be in time to shed the load. Overall this is a sweet story of found families (and real one's finding each other) and simply done. Some of the conclusions did not convince me, given the routes they took to the ending. I was not as invested as I wanted to be given the writing. I would try another of the author's works given a chance.

"If Every Day was Christmas" a sweet gentle romance by Donna Ashcroft. Meg is wildly all about Christmas which is why she runs a year-round Christmas shop in a small Scottish town. Tom Riley-Clark is over all of it, the people, festivities, and the ostentatious decorations. I'm not going to give anything away, but if you would like a gentle romantic novel filled with love, magic, and the mystery of why not here is your book. Yes, it is a sweet Christmas book that you would most likely see play out on your network cable channel, but sometimes you just need a sweet love story during the Christmas season.

Such a gorgeous and heart warming Christmassy romance. It warmed my heart and made me curl up on the sofa with a cup of hot cocoa and smile. It is a book I won't stop recommending

I really enjoyed this book. It was filled with strong, quirky, likeable characters. A great storyline which portrayed the strong relationships between the characters. Meg , Christmas loving! so much she has a Christmas shop! Tom , who hates it ! (Why is explained in the book .)
Meg’s quirky family, the community spirit of the village . . The reader just becomes part of it all!
I read this book as a stand-alone book, but on undertaking some research it is actually book 2 in a series. This in no way spoiled the enjoyment of the book for me. It was a light fun read which I would recommend
