Sad to say I didn't get to see the pictures in this picture story book.

It wasn't visible or just blank I would say there in the ARC soft copy.

Otherwise the lines are few out of which from what I could take was that Norman, the horse, is well loved by a little girl called Ellie.

However, he keeps worrying when he doesn't see her. Well, I could say it ends well with a chaotic house. I wish I could see it.

Thanks NetGalley for the ARC.

I really enjoyed this book and I thought that the images were lovely.

The story is well written and I liked the flow to the story.

It is 4 stars from me for this one – I really enjoyed it and my three year old daughter is loving horses at the moment so it was a great hit with her too!! Highly recommended!!

"Night Night, Norman"
"Neighh...."

I accidentally came across this picture book while preparing for my #buzzwordathon TBR list (books with 'night' in the title), and it was delightful.

The illustrations were wonderful and the colour palette choice was to my taste (not too bold, not too pastel/watered down either). It reminded me of the classic picture books I read in my childhood.

The story itself was really simple; there was no hidden lesson and the imaginative elements were easy to process. It was just a fast, fun read which hopefully would attract kids to read more.

Note to Publisher:
Even though there was a disclaimer that the ebook would be best viewed on laptop/desktop computer, I actually tried reading the book from NetGalley shelf app on my iPad, and it was perfect (the layout was aligned perfectly, and the colours came out nicely).

Night Night, Norman by Marie Dimitrova is an adorable book about a horse who wonders where Ellie, the little girl who takes care of him, goes after she hugs him goodnight. He decides to find out for himself, breaks out of his stall, and discovers some of the best things he has ever experienced...and a bit of mischief along the way.

This is a fun book for out loud reading because of the onomatopoeia used in combination with short-winded prose. Children will love to yell out "swish swish" or "crunch crunch" and so on when it's time.

The illustrations are wonderful--beautifully colored with adorable characters that little ones, and adults alike, will appreciate. Be sure to pay special attention to the illustrations with sheet music. Illustrator Romi Caron did, and it shows. I love that there is a page at the end showing how to draw Norman. I just wish there were some words to go along with the step-by-step drawing in order to explain a little more of how to get from circles with connecting lines to the last step where the horse has shading, a mane and other details. Without further instructions, this will just cause frustration for those attempting to recreate that final result.

Very sweet, and answers the question what horses do at night while their children sleep! Nice touch at the very end with an activity. Horse crazy kids will love this 8 & under...........

Thank you to the author, the publisher, and NetGalley for granting me early access to Night Night, Norman in exchange for an honest review.

Night Night, Norman is the story of a curious horse who wants to see where his beloved girl Ellie goes at night, lets himself into her house, and discovers all sorts of human wonders he's never seen before. This story is so much fun and beautifully illustrated! I invited my almost-3-year-old to sit with me as I read it. Like mother like daughter, she's obsessed with horses, and she absolutely loved this book! We're going to have to grab a physical copy for her for Christmas so she can enjoy it without using my computer. She was especially delighted to see the illustrations of Norman interacting with the piano, and I thought that was adorable because she's always lining up her horse toys on our piano.

This is by far the cutest children's title I've reviewed this month, and I really loved the beautiful and anatomically correct horse illustrations throughout. Thank you for hiring an illustrator who knows horses don't have the same leg joint configuration as dogs (all hocks) or elephants (all knees.) As both a horse lover and a fellow illustrator, seeing beautiful and correct horse illustrations was very much appreciated.

I'll also be recommending this title to my mother and sister who both teach in the K-2 grade range.

A sweet, well-illustrated book about a horse who lets his curiosity get the best of him as he investigates where his owner goes every night after brushing and feeding him. It seemed to end kind of abruptly- I think a different resolution might have served the book a little more.

Fairly basic picture book about a horse who tries to discover where his owner goes at night. The artwork is only okay and in some cases does not match the text. Horse fans will like this one, but general readership is likely to be low.

Our little ones are always wondering what our pets are doing when they're not with us. So this book was fun to read since it's about cute Norman the horse wondering what his little human, Ellie, is doing when she's not with him! Norman goes on his little night time adventure looking for her, but their paths don't quite connect that evening - so both Norman and Ellie will just have to leave it up to their imaginations what they are up to when they're not together! We liked their good-night routine repeated in the book.

"Night Night, Norman" by Marie Dimitrova is a cute book that I think would be fun to read aloud to a group of preschoolers! It centers on Noman, a tall curious horse, and Ellie, the caring girl that tends to Norman. I really appreciated the fact that this book showed a loving relationship between animals and humans. It showed a girl that appreciated and tended to her horse. I think it does a good job helping kids gain empathy for animals. One night after Ellie says goodnight to Normal he wonders to himself where she goes at night. He lets his curiosity get the best of him and wanders into Ellie's house. Let's just say he gets into a bit of mischief there...

Thanks to NetGalley for providing me an ARC of "Night Night, Norman" in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you for the opportunity to review this own children's book. All views are my own given in exchange for an early copy of this book on Netgalley. Reviews will be left on Netgalley and Goodreads, and sometimes on Instagram.

"In this charming and funny book, Norman the horse wonders where Ellie goes after she hugs him goodnight. One night he loosens the latch on his stall and sneaks out. When he pushes his horse-sized body through the door and into Ellie’s house, he smells something delicious coming from the kitchen. While Ellie sleeps, Norman investigates. His equine curiosity and clumsy hooves create all sorts of chaos, leaving us wondering, will he wake Ellie?"

I saw a reviewer make an excellent point about this book which sparked some thoughts for me. When do children start to become aware that other people in their life have separate needs and interests? They have separate lives and homes? When do we realise that teachers go home and have a family, life, pets, make mistakes, etc.? I think this is a cute book that touches a bit on that -- Norman wants to figure out where Ellie goes after she leaves for the night. Its illustrations are nice and crisp. The story is cute and makes me want to hug my pets when I leave for the day!

I would suggest this for libraries, classrooms, and children's libraries at home. I would consider purchasing for a child in my family. Thank you.

As children grow, they become aware of the world around them, learn, test, imitate. And parents are the most important people that children need in order to become a socially responsible person who takes care of themselves and their environment. At these times when more and more cases of animal abuse and mistreatment are being recorded, all of us, as part of this society, need to instill empathy in our children, our future.
Therefore, Night Night, Norman by Marie Dimitrova is an excellent choice in the process of developing empathy for animals. The story of Norman the horse and the girl Ellie is a gentle and interesting story that talks about the love and connection between them. For mutual influence and care for each other. For the importance of one touch, one nice gesture that means so much to the two of them. While reading the story with my daughter, we simply laughed at the interesting events, Norman’s mischief, looked at the pictures and described the colorful illustrations and talked about the importance of animals in the world.

The cute, short story is of great length so that it can keep children interested and motivated. The described events are interesting and funny enough to make the children enjoy the tale, and the drawing supplement is a fantastic detail with which your child will enjoy the tale for a long time. The only negative effect is that my girl wants us to bring a horse at home, where will we put it, I wonder

Night Night, Norman is a cute book about Norman and the little girl that takes care of him. The story definitely reminded me of Goldilocks.

This is an adorable book about Norman the horse!

My six and four year old were both engaged when we read it as a family. Norman's antics reminded them of the book "If You Give A Moose A Muffin."

I love books that center around bedtime, as they're perfect to read to my children at the end of the day. Ellie and Norman had such a sweet bedtime routine!

Night, Night Norman is beautifully illustrated! My son loved the final page with Norman silhouetted against the sky and the colors of the setting sun.

The "let's draw Norman" page at the end was a fun way to end the book. My kids couldn't believe how easy it was to draw a horse after learning from this book!

This is a take on Goldilocks and The Three Bears, but instead with a horse. Norman is loved so much by the little girl that takes care of him every day and he wonders where she goes at night when she says goodnight. Norman decides to sneak out of the barn one night and follow her into the house. What ensues is a funny sight into a horse actually being inside someone's home. He manages to keep it a secret the next day. This was great for any child who loves horses. Super cute illustrations.

Thank you to Greenleaf Book Group & NetGalley for the chance to preview "Night, Night, Norman". The illustrations are adorable & the story is very cute! A definite horse story for children who are pony/horse lovers. Loved the last page showing how to draw a horse step by step.

Ellie's naughty horse, Norman, wants to know where she goes after she leaves the barn at night. He lets himself out of his stall to find out. His adventures are hilarious! As an owner of a naughty horse myself, I felt a little anxious reading of Norman's adventurous night out, but rest assured that Norman finds his way safely back to his stall!

This book is about a beautiful horse called Norman who is cared for by a lovely little girl called Ellie. Norman wonders what Ellie does when she is away from him at night time, so he goes on a little journey to find out where she goes and he gets into a bit of mischief. This is a cute and funny book with beautiful illustrations and lovely writing. My daughter and I loved this book a lot and we will read it again.
