An appealing, colourful book in which the main character overcomes fears of the dark. I loved the white on purple text and the illustrations. The text is clear and simple to understand. I think it will appeal to under 10s though I have reservations about the early suggestions of things to be feared within the book might prime a child’s overactive imagination instead of settling the child to sleep. Maybe one to read during the day with some discussion with an adult rather than at bedtime.

**I received and voluntarily read an e-ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.**

Most kids are afraid of the dark at some point, and this book does a great job of addressing the issue. Some of the rhymes felt a little forced at times, but nothing that took away from the story.

Absolutely beautiful illustrations- the colors are warm and inviting and the drawings themselves are childlike without being childish. The art feels very heavily influenced by Pixar (the Pixar short "La Luna" came to mind as I read the book). I could easily see the art taken from the book, framed, and placed on walls.

Overall, a great job and a book I could see in many homes.

This book glows with beauty, both in its artwork and storytelling. Highly recommended for young readers and classroom libraries.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an electronic copy to read and review.

This adorable story is about a child who is afraid to go to sleep because of the dark in her room.

The illustrations and gentle rhymes make it a great bedtime experience.

A short children's book that tells the story of Jade, a little girl that cannot sleep because she is afraid of the dark, but she'll discover the magic behind it.

It was really good, the art style is colorful and the message is great!

Awww, this was so cute! Jade is scared of darkness and cannot sleep. She tried counting sheeps, closing her eyes, but nothing is working:( Will she brave the dark like the title says? Go and find out!
I loved that the story was written in rhyme, it gave a fun twist to this scary subject. I loved the illustrations too, although I would've liked them to be a little more lighter (maybe it's the e-book I don't know).
I recommend it for children from 2-5 years old.

This was a really cute children’s book! I picked it up because I love to see dark skinned main characters in kids books because that was not easy to find when I was a kid! I thought it was a sweet book! It hard to find fault in such a small adorable book! I think that for the target audience it is perfect!
