The stories were interesting enough in this title but the book itself felt a little mixed up since it was more of a collection of stories and poems. While interesting, I found myself skipping the poems.

It took me a while to read this book, but that was on purpose. As it is stacked with many stories, poems, dialogues between Zen student and teacher, and reflections.

It isn't my usual go-to read but I'm glad I gave it the time.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC.

Having read a lot of books on Zen I found this one fascinating on the way it mixes mediums that make it an easy read.

This collection is a reflection piece - not necessarily from the author, but for the reader. The pieces allow for moments of introspection, of allowing the ideas to open up the beginnings of understanding.

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this book. This was just not what i Thought it was going to be so i feel it is unfair for me to rate it unfairly through my own fault.

Wrong book - Forever in My Veins: How Film Led Me to the Mysterious World of the African Shama - was sent to my Kindle instead of the requested book by Keevil. Unfortunately, that is not a book I'd like to read....

As another reviewer has pointed out, the book that I received under the title 'Finding Zen in the Ordinary' was actually 'Forever in My Veins: How Film Led Me to the Mysterious World of the African Shaman' which is also an interesting read. I would like for the error to be rectified and be able to read the actual book 'Finding Zen in the Ordinary'.

Updated review from 09/23/2020: Upon contacting the publisher, I was able to receive a copy of the actual book 'Finding Zen in the Ordinary'. This is a wonderful little book with very small nuggets of wisdom on each topic. I would say this book would be more appreciated by someone who is already familiar with Zen concepts and koans. Overall, a very good book for repeated reading and introspection.

Sorry I could not review this. It went away too fast and I did not have the opportunity to download it.

It does sound like a book I would enjoy

Obviously had come to some mistake - instead of Finding Zen in the Ordinary, the book downloaded is Forever in my Veins.

I'm looking forward to read Finding Zen and I hope the mistake will be fixed soon.

Thank you.
