I started this book completely open minded and was so pleasantly surprised.

First the characters, Zora quickly became such a favourite of mine, her personality, quick temper and wit all made her so lovable. I was rooting for her from the first chapter, and loved her determination, how human she was portrayed to be as it wavered.

Next the three brothers. For me, the relationship between them was slightly unclear, I liked the aspect of Griffins turmoil at betraying his brother, but I would have loved to see more of the inner workings of their relationship.

Alegra, was something else. I hated her character, the way she played the others, but then the reveal of her true name and nature turned it all around. She intrigues me now.

I love the hints throughout the book, the singing, dark magic, everything else. And the build up, to the final challenge where Zora wins, and saves the Prince.

I would love to see how the story continues, and the relationship that develops, I'm a sucker for the whole enemies to lovers trope. And I hope the next book continues to be just as good, and acknowledges more on how the 3 brothers loved the same girl, a fact that was a tad ghosted over, probably intentionally.

Overall, I can't wait to continue Zora's story.

Okay wow. This book caught my eye but I didn’t think I would be so immersed in the story that I would finish the book in ~4 hours (over the course of 2 nights). The world building, the romance, the mystery, the magic, the badass feminist main character. I cannot wait to read the rest of this series. I could not put this book down!

I’ve been in a reading slump for weeks but I read this in one sitting! It has romance, court intrigue and a unique magic system that had me completely hooked. If you like throne of glass and spin the dawn you’ll like this
