this was a really good horror novel, it had what i was looking for in this type of book. I enjoyed the struggles in the book as it made the characters feel like real people.

My rating for this book is based more on personal preference as opposed to writing skill and style. It's not a poorly written book, I just think that I'm not the proper target audience for it. I almost didn't finish it, but I was curious to see where it all ended up, so I gave it a 3 instead of a 2.

To me, this felt almost like... a thriller movie with some light horror elements thrown in. The horror itself stems from possession and spirituality/reincarnation, and those things just aren't scare triggers for me. I've tried so many possession horror movies and books, and the vast majority of them don't really do anything for me. I'm not sure why I keep trying.

I didn't go into this one expecting a possession type novel heavy on spiritual elements and romance. I've been reading a lot of deep sea/ocean based horror and was expecting something more like that. I was okay with the direction it took at first, but it eventually started to drag for me. As I said, I really just think I'm not the right audience for this book. Might be a good beach read for someone into these elements.

One of my biggest fears is being trapped underwater and not being able to escape. So why not read a book about exactly that! Wake of the Sadico is a fast-moving thriller set at sea. Five young adults intending to enjoy a dive vacation, come across a shipwreck and decide to explore. They are faced with eerie situations and hints of possession, tied to the history of the ship that they discover.

I picked this up because of the cover and reviews and because the blurb sounded fascinating. While I did generally enjoy it, I didn't enjoy the racism spewing from one of the characters. It was a good read, the reincarnation aspect was fascinating but I did struggle to connect to the characters.

A horror story involving 5 divers and a haunted shipwreck. It wasn’t a bad read; in fact, I was pretty interested in most of what was going on. However, the story just kind of fell flat for me. The ending was very anticlimactic, and more could have been done to flesh out a very spooky and chilling close. For me, the horror element leaned more on the sea diving than the supernatural, and it just didn’t do it for me.

I will say overall that the story was interesting though. You’ll get to take a trip to the Carribean and see some pretty cool deep sea activity. The characters each have their own unique personalities, some more so than others.
