What a cute, beautiful read.
This is a children’s book but somehow it deals with adult problems and daily life. We follow these three sisters and they are really different from each other. We have Sarah, the eldest. She always feels like she is responsible for her sisters and she has to take care of them. She has weird dreams involving a mystery tree, a greenhouse and a jellyfish. She always wakes up in the same moment and she is determined to find out what the dream means.
We have Lucille who is the youngest one and she is in love with animals and obsessed with cats. She believes animals are better than humans and she is sad bc her sisters fight a lot.
And then we have Cassiopeia who is always dreaming and in her own world full of unicorns, princess and rainbows. She is cute but she fights with Sarah sometimes.
The book is basically the 3 sisters trying to find out what happened to her mom when she was younger and what Sarah’s dream means while they try to make a present for her mom for Mother’s Day.
The art is amazing. I want to be inside that world and find out if the city is real so I can visit it. The story is really quick and cute. I loved the lesson in the end. Her mom had a miscarriage when she was pregnant for the first time and she is still grieving. She broke up with her boyfriend back then and she still thinks about her first daughter, the one she lost. She can’t handle Mother’s Day bc of that reason and now the sisters know about the little jellyfish that tried to do anything to meet them and be a part of the sisters club. It was really powerful and I got really emotional by the end. I highly recommend you this book.

Ugh so adorable! The first thing i did today, after waking up, was to read this book. And i must say, it made a bright start to my day. I love the Grémillet Sisters: they're young, silly, cute; almost like every other siblings we come across daily. The art was vivid and beautiful, and was minutely detailed. Also, the story, especially the ending, was very interesting: If it's thought from a different perspective, the jelly fish was the soul of the dead baby, who found it's way to be remembered by its family. A subtle fight for existence. Absolutely remarkable!

I have to start by saying this is the most visually stunning graphic novel I've ever read. The illustration style, the colours, the whimsical feel.. It was absolutely beautiful! The story was equally lovely, depicting the ups and downs of sisterhood. What begins as a fun and adventurous tale leads to a moving and poignant ending. The family dynamics were so heartwarming, and I was truely captured from start to finish.

OMG the art in this one is absolutely gorgeous! The story of these three sisters is beautifully done. It starts off with fantastical elements in dreams and the imagination of these three girls. I did not guess the direction it was going and while it wasn't quite as whimsical as the girls might think, it was emotionally powerful. I love that the girls were spirited and sassy with so much love for each other and their mother. I would definitely pick up another edition with these girls.

Thank you netgalley and the author for the book!
It was such a pretty book and with a beautiful message, blood is stronger than everything else.
Sure this is a child book and I would've loved if we had more depth in it but overall it was a good warm reading

I loved this story and the art that went along with it! It is fast-paced and would be something I could honestly use to get out of a reading slump. 10/10 do recommend if you like stories to do with family!

Stunning illustrations in this first story with the Greillet Sisters. The story itself was good but focused more on the mothers past than the sisters but since it is the first book I hope there will be more with the sisters in the future.

I was provided with an electronic ARC through NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

This is such a cute story about three sisters, and I enjoyed the cameo toys in the first pages. Seeing this is volume 1, I'm eager for the next installment. :)

Hello, how are you? Are we all doing okay?

The other day I picked up the first volume of the Golden Sheep finally and I do not know but it feels like it suddenly made me want to read more graphic novels and manga. This resulted in me spending several hours on my Netgalley and Hoopla last night reading like five or so graphic novels, and I had the best most relaxing time. Just picking up random graphic novels, getting immersed in beautiful stories for a time and having time to read the whole thing or more than one before having to go to sleep! The Gremillet Sisters caught my eye and I just dove right in and honestly I loved it so much I am really hoping there is another volume and sometime soon.

SPOILERS AHEAD

Three sisters Cassiopeia, Lucille, and Sarah used to be the best of friends. But now they are getting a little older, developing their own interests, and having more arguments but when the oldest sister Sarah has an idea for the best mother’s day gift ever they decide to work together to make it happen! The three girls spend time trying to learn all they can about their mother, and for Sarah this means learning about her dream. Every night she has a dream where there are jellyfish, a big tree, and something to do with her mother. When the girls begin to find pictures of their mother for the present they are making, they find one that looks like it would be right out of Sarah’s dream. Sarah knows she must investigate but her sisters are not as interested in investigating as they are in making the gift! Can the girls make the perfect mother’s day gift and figure out what their mother is hiding from them?

I absolutely loved this graphic novel. Like I went to Amazon as soon as I finished reading to see if this would be made into physical copies or something I could purchase. The art is stunning inside, the colors, the lines, everything about it is just so beautiful. I love each and every character in this story and I really enjoy how they each have their own personality that shows through. (Also, as a cat lover, I thought the little sister was adorable)! The story is amazing as well. I love the plot line of the sisters, of each girl having their own things but trying to come together, and their big mystery/present situation. I am hoping (like fingers crossed) that there will be another volume.

Goodreads Rating: 5 Stars

This is an absolutely adorable story. The relationships between characters are very realistic and the art style is beautiful.
I cannot wait for more volumes.

This was a cute story about siblings finding out more about their mother's past. I liked the art and I liked the way the story went, but I would have loved to learn a bit more about the story overall. There might be another volume coming, but personally I'd just have a longer first volume with more story than short and quick volumes.

The Gremillet Sisters is a small and beautiful tale of a family of three sisters and their mother. The three children are quite different from each other which makes it quite a task to get along, but they try to and love each other. Lush settings and sisterly quibbles abound. However, Sarah is haunted by dreams which she realizes are significant when she discovers an old photo of their mother.
The artwork is beautiful and the reader is swept along with the story. The plot builds well reaching a climax with Lucille's disappearance.
I would recommend this to slightly older children, maybe past the age of 12, who can appreciate and understand the writing and some of the topics better than their younger counterparts (The book is tinged with some pain and melancholy dealing with the mother's past)
I would like to repeat that I loved the art and the natural dialogue and am waiting to read the rest of the series!

The Grémillet Sisters is a gorgeous graphic novel with art that wouldn't be out of place in a fantasy setting. It was this fantastical style that drew me to the book, and it was stunning throughout. The story, a children's mystery, really hit home for its realistic representation of a sibling bond. No matter if you are the oldest, youngest, or somewhere in-between, you'll find yourself relating to one of the three sisters. The eldest, determined to find out why she dreams of jellyfish and a great big tree, feels as though she has to be in charge of her younger siblings. The middle child, frustrated with being treated in this manner, is also juggling a life of her own, including a love interest. And the youngest is bright-eyed, full of adventure and love, and perhaps wishing her sisters were cats instead. The main twist left me feeling a little bummed, as the mystery was entirely mundane and had no magic involved whatsoever despite the graphic novel's stylistic choices, but in all regards it was quite a wonderful story, and I hope to see more as a series (even though this case is closed).

A beautiful little story about sisterhood, family, and secrets. It was a very pleasant read, with gorgeous illustrations.

4 1/5 stars. The concept and art work are beautiful. I loved the story of sisterhood. There are no others words to explain the book , other than I loved it to the core.

The half star deduction is for story , it could've been longer but may be it is kept in store for next volumes. I am still in the memories of the beautiful art work.

Thank you NetGalley, Publication and Author for the ARC.

This is a sweet graphic novel about sisterhood, family and uncovering secrets. The art style is gorgeous and the layout of images and texts makes the story easy to read and follow. I loved the dynamic of the three sisters - their relationship felt very real and I think readers with siblings will be able to relate to the characters easily. I was disappointed by the reveal of the family secret as I felt the story and illustrations set it up to be a magical/mystical reveal, which it isn't - there is no magical element to this book. But overall, I enjoyed the art style, the characters and family dynamic portrayed in the story.

This is a review of a book I read on netgalley

The artwork is beautiful and very detailed. It made it a pleasure to read through.

The story itself is about three sisters trying to find out about their mothers past and organise a mothers day gift. I am the youngest of three sisters myself and can say that the interactions between the sisters was perfect and quite funny.

The story itself kept me interested and I wanted to find out the answer to the mystery. It is only a short book but the good thing with this is you can go back to the start and read the whole thing again and again. A beautiful charming book which I cant recommend enough.

Night after night Sarah is haunted by the same dream. A forest, a tree, a glass house, and a jellyfish. But she always wakes up before it finishes. One day Sarah finds a photograph of her mother standing in front of a tree, the very same one from her dreams. She enlists the help of her two younger sisters to uncover the mystery of their mother's past.

I absolutely loved the art style for this comic. It's reminiscent of W.I.T.C.H. so I found it a bit nostalgic. The dynamics between the three sisters were so fun to read and quite realistic. I also loved how each sister had their own personality and felt like their own person. The story itself was captivating right from the beginning. I do have to say that I expected the conclusion of the story to be more magical than it turned out to be. But I'm looking forward to reading more of this series and getting to know the secrets of the Grémillet family.
