Not every story needs to be about young people. As I get older I’m finding that reading about more mature people are what I enjoy. Mix that with food and art and I there for it all.

I enjoyed this book a lot more than I expected!! I was drawn in by the cover, and the promise of food and desserts, even more being European, I wanted to see the references, but I was kinda surprised, to say the least, when I found out the main character was 50. Not that this is a problem, don't get me wrong, but I’m used to reading YA, with characters closer to my own age or around the middle thirties... I really enjoyed the change though, it was a totally different feel than other things I’ve read and I had fun!

This was a super cute romance! Cram's writing style brought Paris to life and the tension and banter between Genna and Bill was just perfect. Overall, a delightful and fluffy read.

I received a copy of the book from Netgalley to review. Thank you for the opportunity.
Some sweet themes through this book and good writing. However, it was difficult to fully engage with the book as MC was not very likable and quite bitter at times.
An OK read.

The first thing about this book is the title and the cover page that grabs the reader’s attention. The next intriguing this about the city of lights where the Protagonist escapes to Paris. I loved the story building and the set up and how Gemma kept up with the struggle without giving up with courage and confidence. it’s a must read if you are a foodie and it quite an interesting read.

Thank you NetGalley for sending the e-Arc.

I loved the setting so much: Paris, the food, the places, art and the romance! It was good. I couldn't quite grasp the characters, but this book definitely transported me to Paris in the middle of a pandemic.

For me the recipes didn’t appeal but then I don’t like French cuisine as practiced in restaurants. Or cafes. Often too rich, too much cream or alcohol or unfortunate parts of an animal. My first visit to Paris was to stay with the daughter on an exchange visit, of someone who owned a small cafe, so I got to experience authentic cooking then. and than oysters and steak tartare made me very ill - in a rather medieval centre of Paris flat! Less than ideal...
I did however quite like the storyline – it reminded me of me several other visits to Paris – and how cold it often was – and the lack of heating in shops and cafes, and how the men liked to flirt…
I really found it difficult to get enthused by using Paris as the situation and I also was really uncertain how she could a. find the time to cook all these items as many took a long time not just to prepare, but also to actually cook; and b. undertake this in her very basic kitchen.

I loved this book! A middle-aged woman named Genna goes to Paris to write a cookbook, and get away from her cheating husband. While she’s there, she has a great time trying to match recipes to Paris landmarks. She also meets some nice men who remind her what life was like before she was married and unhappy. Her children come to visit, and she cooks for them and proudly introduces them to the new men in her life. Genna must decide whether to stay in Paris or go home.
I highly doubt this book, 4 stars.

Thanks to BooksGoSocial and NetGalley for the ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Overall, I enjoyed this story. I will admit that I was expecting romance to take on more of the forefront of the book, as it sometimes took a backseat to the central plotline. However, I really loved the concept of the story and the thought of writing a cookbook while traveling. The descriptions of food made my mouth water! A solid read overall.

This was marketed as a Pairs romance dipped with one of my favorite themes in romance books: culinary. However, this was marketed completely wrong. It’s more of a women’s fiction, which though I enjoy the majority of women’s fiction I read, this book left me completely unsatisfied. Our main character was average at best, if not annoying, as well as the romance that did take place was second to the overarching story. Another point is our main character is an older main character which is another thing I wouldn’t usually mind, but in this case totally took me out of the story. Sad to say this was a complete miss for me.

This book wasn't about romance the way I expected, but that is a good thing. Although I found it hard to relate to Genna, I ended up liking her.
The story isn't predictable: it is nice and very easy to read. I felt like I was in Paris tasting what she was describing.

I was very pleased with this book! I enjoyed all of the characters (even ones I disliked- the author wrote them well). I feel like writing a cookbook that connects to places in the world would be the ideal job, and one I would love to have! Very descriptive foods and locations, and just an overall great read.

This is a book I could literally sink my teeth into- the many different kinds of macarons in the heading of each chapter had my mouth water. The way you wrote about the different areas of Paris and beyond was outstanding and for new friendships and some romance what could go wrong?

This was a great read for a second chance romance novel.

Keep up the great work. Can't wait to see what you come out with next.

Thank you NetGalley and Carol Cram for an ARC of this book!

This book has the potential to be a contender for the most romantic story - you have Paris, a woman trying to find herself, and food. While I wish I could say this was a five-star read, around midway through the book, I started skimming through the pages as I wanted the plot to move a little faster. I loved the idea of connecting specific recipes and locations together; however, I wish we received some of those recipes as is sometimes done when food is a central theme of a book. That tends to be one of my favorite parts as I feel I can make a part of the book truly come to life. Sadly, the storyline needs a little work and maybe some editing and this has the potential to be a four- or five-star read.

I have mixed feelings about this book. It started off well enough, but after a while I found myself skimming through some of the pages because I was bored with the story. Also, usually when you read a romance that involves food/recipes they include some of those recipes at the end of the book. This was not done and was a bit disappointing. Overall, I felt that there was not enough romance in the book for me and the ending was kind of up in the air as far as a happily ever after. I'm sure that there would be others who would enjoy the story. It was just not for me.

Paris may be for lovers, but cookbook author Genna McGraw is definitely not looking for love. She's looking for escape and she's looking for a good runny Brie to pair with a smooth Bordeaux. Where better than Paris? Thank you to NetGalley for allowing me to read this book. This was a great book and I enjoyed reading it.

This book was great! Food, Paris, a struggling main character, a love interest - all a promising combo for a good read.

If you've been following my reviews for any time at all, you'll know that a book set in Paris with food content is basically an automatic addition to my TBR shelf. The idea of connecting specific locations with recipes for a cookbook is such a fun one, and this Francophile foodie truly ate it up (pun intended).

Genna McGraw is such a fun protagonist, and I love that she is in a different age bracket than so many of the heroines of romance novels. With two grown children out of the house and recently (unpleasantly) divorced, Genna heads off to Paris to write her newest cookbook, renting an apartment from a grouchy old gentleman. Said gentleman's son, however, is a warm (slightly hunky) French lawyer, with whom Genna quickly strikes up a friendship. Flitting between tourist sites, her French class, and a neighborhood Starbucks, Genna establishes a Paris crew, and it was so fun to see those relationships develop over the course of the novel.

Sadly, I was not especially impressed by the writing or plot development. Genna's reason for divorcing her husband was evident from the beginning, and I was frustrated by the efforts to turn it into a big reveal. Marsha's toxic relationship with Collin was distressing and the drawn out negativity, while honest to many people's experiences with abuse, didn't fit the rest of this feel-good novel.

Like many readers, I was more enticed by the food and Paris descriptions than by the characters and their relationships, but overall, it was a fun read, and I'm missing Paris a little extra after reading it.

If I had to pick one word to describe this book it would be underwhelming. I absolutely fell in love with the premise and the blurb and it sounded like the perfect antidote to a tough month, but I was left feeling flat.

I found Love Amongst The Recipes to be very long, and not in a good way. I struggled at points to keep reading and found myself skimming the pages because they didn't feel relevant or like they added anything to the plot.

What disappointed me the most was how in the turn of a few pages we went from Genna loving her freedom in Paris, away from her husband and her old life, to struggling to choose between two men...

Why couldn't she have just kept on loving her freedom and independence and told them both to jog on when she was clearly still struggling to determine if she wanted to forgive her husband and rekindle with him.

Which leads me to the whole reason Genna was in Paris in the first place, which isn't revealed until about three quarters of the way through the book, when it's quite an integral part of the plot.

It's not that I disliked the characters in the story, they just lacked depth for me. Yes, Genna was well developed and I felt like we knew her personally but then everyone else felt a bit 2D and flat.

And the ending... Oh my goodness, I felt so let down, it was awful and did not round the book off at all. I felt like I'd waded through treacle for the entire book to be handed crap.

On the whole, Love Amongst The Recipes just didn't fill me with the joy I expected it to, I was underwhelmed and highly disappointed.
