‘Darling?’ Molly raised an eyebrow. ‘I know. Her name isn’t very fitting, is it? But it’s better than my son’s name for her … Effin.’ ‘Effin?’ Molly looked perplexed. ‘Will that effin dog ever shut up!’

My Review:

I continue with my adoration for Christie Barlow with this sweet and perplexing tale that had generous helpings of several genres combining for an amusing read. There were loads of family drama in this predominantly women’s fiction and small-town romance blend with welcome sprinkles of humor and a cute canine throughout. I enjoyed the insightful and shrewdly paced character development, although I wasn’t sure I was going to appreciate the main character of Cam as he was blowing hot and cold and needed to save up for the surgery to have the stick removed that was precariously wedged up his backside. I feared it was to be a terminal condition for the faltering man, although it thankfully seemed to magically work loose for a miracle cure. I will gladly return to Love Heart Lane for more juicy tales of the oddly enticing and curiously appealing residents.

It is always an absolute delight to visit Heart Cross. Christie Barlow always makes me smile with her charming storytelling this is the sixth book in the Love Heart Lane series each story is self-contained and can be read as a standalone, but I think once you’ve read one you’re going to want to read them all! Molly is the local vet and while off at a dog behavior convention she has a one night stand. This is so out of character for Molly so her friends are super intrigue. When Cam the man Molly had her rendezvous with shows up in town Molly is excited... that is until he does not acknowledge her. Molly doesn’t know what to think, good thing she is distracted by her new charge Darling A feisty Jack Russell terrier. There really were so many layers to the story. Molly was a great character and I really loved getting to know her better. I also really loved the friendship between Molly and Isla. The sense of community was fabulous! Loves how everyone rallied to get the park back in shape. There also was a little layer of mystery in the secondary storyline of the book. Another great installment in this lovely series!

*** Big thank you to One More Chapter for my gifted copy of this book. All opinions are my own. ***

Christie Barlow’s delightful Love Heart Lane series never fails to put a great big smile on my face and the latest installment, Primrose Park, is a hopeful and heartfelt tale I couldn’t help but fall in love with.

For Molly, her career has always been her number one priority. The busy vet has always put her job first, but lately she cannot help but wonder whether there might be more to life than hard work. With all of her friends settled and building families of their own, Molly begins to feel that she might have lost her chance at happiness by being so career-oriented, but could the drop dead gorgeous stranger she met at a conference be the one to make all of her romantic fantasies a reality? Sensible Molly’s inhibitions melt as soon as she claps eyes on this handsome man, but all her hopes and dreams are smashed to smithereens when he vanishes the next morning…

Three months later and Molly is back in Love Heart Lane, her one night stand firmly behind her – or so she thinks! She is shocked to her very core when she sees the sexy stranger she spent a red-hot night with walking his dog through Primrose Park! Hopeful Molly hopes that the two of them can pick up where they left off, however, it seems that their night together didn’t mean as much to him as it did to Molly. Crushed and angry with herself for letting her feelings run away with her, Molly turns to her friends and neighbours for support. However, a broken heart is the least of her worries when it transpires that there are further surprises in store for her.

In Love Heart Lane you simply never know what is around the corner and maybe Molly will find the happiness she has always longed for in the most unlikely of places…

A gloriously feel-good romantic read that ticks all the right boxes, Primrose Park is another first-class read by Christie Barlow. A story about second chances, new beginnings and life’s unexpected twists and turns, Primrose Park is a heart-warming, engrossing and immensely enjoyable romance that will have readers falling in love with the book’s colourful cast of characters and have them wishing they too could live on Love Heart Lane.

As superb as ever, Christie Barlow has penned another must-read romantic read with her latest novel, Primrose Park!

Molly, a vet, is at a conference to improve her dog training skills when she meets the mystery man. Sparks fly and for once, Molly decides to go with her feelings! The next day she literally wakes up to reality and no sign of the man. She’s sure that he’s the man for her but she doesn’t even know his complete name! When she discovers that she might really need to find out more about him, he pops right into her neighbourhood and seems like he’s there to stay! But the man, she shared a night with is very different to the man he is now. What’s the story behind that? Will Molly ever find that the feelings they shared were not a figment of her imagination?

There’s another story running alongside the romance – the story of a dog that Molly seems to have become a reluctant owner to and who she’s struggling to train even as she’s offering dog behaviour classes to others! Will the dog ever learn to listen?

I love how this story all came together. There’s romance, there’s great friendship, a warm and closely knit community, some ‘bad guys’ and above all great characters!

Off to explore more books in the Love Heart Lane series.

Thanks Netgalley for allowing me to read this book Molly has been all about work for most of her life. She has not given a thought about getting married and having kids. She decides to take a class at an hotel and meets a man. O enjoyed the many characters in this book.

I have read, reviewed and simply adored every book that Christie has written. I love the way in which she creates such heart warming and funny stories. I especially love the ‘Love Heart Lane’ series. ‘Primrose Park’ is the sixth book in the series and it is another corker of a read. I thoroughly enjoyed reading ‘Primrose Park’ but more about that in a bit.
I loved the character of Molly and I warmed to her from the start. In fact I began to think of her as a friend and I felt all protective of her. Molly is a vet, who specialises in working with animals who have behavioural issues. Molly is extremely good at her job. Molly has a tight circle of friends who appear to be more like sisters than friends. Molly attends a conference at a hotel and it is where she first meets Cam. I won’t go too far into the what happens between them but it is safe to say that the there are more than a few sparks between them. Molly is a lovely lass, who is kind, compassionate, sensitive, helpful, funny, gentle and a massive support to anybody who needs her. I kept everything crossed that things would work out for her and that she would get the ‘happy ever after’ ending that she so deserved. What happens? Well for the answer to that question and so much more you are just going to have to read the book for yourselves to find out as I am not going to tell you.
Can I just say that I flipping well adore the Love Heart Lane series and as soon as I glimpsed the author’s name on the cover, I just had to start reading the book as soon as possible. I knew that I was going to be in for a treat and that I wouldn’t be doing anything other than reading for the rest of the afternoon. I was spot on and then some. This was one of those books that I was desperate to finish because I had an urgent need to find out how this instalment of the story concluded but at the same time I didn’t want the book to end because I was enjoying the story so much. I found ‘Primrose Park’ to be a delight to read from start to finish and full of love and humour with more than a dash of drama.
‘Primrose Park’ is superbly written but then I have come to expect anything else from Christie Barlow. She certainly grabs your attention from the start and draws you into what proves to be a cracking read. Reading one of Christie’s books always leaves me feeling as though I have had a hug from a mug of hot chocolate- in other words it leaves me feeling all warm and fuzzy inside. I love the very vivid way in which Christie describes Love Heart Lane. She makes the area come alive and the characters seem just as real as you and I. I found that I became far too involved in the story to the extent that I was wanting to jump inside the pages of the book to sort various characters out.
In short, I thoroughly enjoyed reading ‘Primrose Park’ and I definitely recommend that you read this book. Although this is book in the Love Heart Lane series, it reads perfectly well as a standalone too. I will definitely be reading more of Christie’s work in the future. The score on the Ginger Book Geek board is a very well deserved 5* out of 5*.

Wow, wow, wow. I have been so excited for this one since I discovered Christie Barlow with her last book The Lake House and it has exceeded my expectations! Primrose Park is the sixth book in the Love Heart Lane Series.

This is such a beautiful story, it also delicately touches on very sensitive topics including miscarriage and infertility.

Cam is a dreamy dentist, I would not be scared to go to the Dentist if he was mine 😆 and there really sounds nowhere better than Love Heart Lane.

If you are late to the party with Reading Christie’s Books like I was, I can’t recommend them enough. Now to wait to wait for October for Heartcross Castle!

Love, Love, Love this story!

We are introduced to the main characters of Molly and Cam straight away in the story. They meet when Molly is attending a conference at a local hotel. There is instant chemistry between the two of them which leads straight to the bedroom! Waking up the next morning, Molly finds that Cam has simply vanished. She knows nothing about him, except for his name.

Resigned to the fact that she believed there was a connection between them, Cam obviously thought different. Getting on with her life as a vet, Molly tries to forget all about Cam and that magical night. Until Molly finds out she is pregnant and Cam is the father of her baby. Coming to terms with the pregnancy, Molly is excited to become a Mum. Imagine her surprise, when out of the blue, she bumps into Cam in the village where she lives.

MYSTERIOUS CAM

But Cam isn’t the gorgeous sparkly guy she remembers – in fact, he could not be any more different! What Molly doesn’t know is that Cam’s life is a mess and he has moved back to live in his Grandmothers house near Primrose Park while he gets his life back on track again. What he doesn’t expect is to run into the gorgeous Molly. Trying to avoid any contact with her becomes more and more difficult, especially when she tells him about the baby.

Primrose Park is such a lovely story, with some unexpected twists and turns along the way. I love the character of Molly – she is such a strong and independent woman, but with a vulnerable side as well. The story is packed full of love, life, laughter and friendship, and is beautifully written by author Christie Barlow. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a story of love and friendship.

Molly, the vet, is the focus for this story, set in and about the lovely village of Heartcross and the iconic Primose Park, where characters often meet. Even though it's the sixth book in this lovely uplifting series, it reads well as a standalone. Each book focuses on a previously unexplored main protagonist.

Career-driven Molly has an uncharacteristic and unforgettable one night with Cam, who disappears afterwards without a word. They meet again in the park, but it's not the dramatic reconciliation Molly wishes for.

This story is full of heartache and surprises. Molly needs to solve the mystery surrounding Cam. Contemporary issues are interwoven into the more lighthearted storylines, which give this story an authenticity that makes it enjoyable.

Part of the charm of following a long-running series like Lone Heart Lane is feeling at home in the place it is set, catching up with the familiar characters and seeing a new couple find their happily-ever-after. This time it's Molly McKendrick's turn.
Molly is a strong, independent woman. She is happy with her home and her vet practice. She would like to add a new kind of service, dog behaviour classes, and this is why she decided to attend a training course that would allow her to do it. She might have been feeling a bit broody recently, but Molly is a practical person, and there are various options she needs to consider. Then she meets Cam and sparks fly, the connection is cosmic. Well, a girl has to live and you live only once....In the morning Cam disappears seemingly forever from her life and all she knows about him is his first name and his job.
Fast forward three months later. We are back to Heartcross and who does Molly run into if not our gorgeous dentist walking his dog in the park? Only their meeting doesn't go the way she had been expecting it to go.
The writing flows so easily, you'll get immersed in the story in no time at all. There are some lovely, sweet characters, some quirky ones you are going to root for, and some baddies. If you are an animal lover, prepare to have your heart stolen by Darling. There is a fantastic sense of community that will make you want to keep coming backto Heartcross again and again.

Thank you to Rachel from Rachel's Random Resources, NetGalley and One More Chapter for the review copy provided in exchange for an honest opinion.

Primrose Park is the sixth installment of the Love Heart Lane series by Christie. I can’t believe we’re on number six already! Each of these books focus on a different lead character so each can be read as a standalone, but they are all lovely, feel-good and heartwarming books so I highly recommend reading all of them!

I have loved each and every one of the Love Heart Lane series so far and this one was no exception. This time the focus of the book is on vet Molly. We have met Molly briefly in previous books and she is good friends with Isla who we know well. This time round though we find out more about Molly.

At the start of this book Molly attends a conference where she meets a handsome man and falls for him instantly. She throws caution to the wind and they spend the night together, for him to have disappeared the following morning. Three months later, Molly bumps into him again but this time he doesn’t acknowledge her. From here we go on a journey with Molly of trying to find out what is going on with the handsome stranger.

Primrose Park is a feature in this story and it is the park in the village of Heartcross. There are many links to the park that are interwoven into the story, featuring a number of characters.

Not only are we reunited with a number of characters that have featured in the other books in the series but we are also introduced to more including Cam, the mystery man, and his family, Dixie and Birdie, playing key parts in the story. Dixie is a wonderful character, so full of life and energy. And let’s not forget Darling, Dixie’s dog that Molly ends up taking care of. Darling doesn’t appear to live up to her name though and she certainly is a little character.

From the very first page I was hooked on Molly’s story, and loved that chance to revisit the Scottish village of Heartcross. I hope it’s not long before we are back there again.

As usual the story follow on is just fabulous.
I particularly enjoyed the story about Darling and Mckenzie.
This one had a lot more substance than the previous book, and it paid off beautifully in my opinion.
The series is so comfortable, its like dropping in on your old friends just to see how they're doing.
Keep up the brilliant work and I will keep on reading them 👍 👏
Thank you 😊.

This is book #6 of the Love Heart Lane series. Whilst part of a series, it can easily be read as a standalone book. I have read all of this series, and am always excited to return to the loveliness that is the little Scottish village of Heartcross! In this book we meet Molly McKendrick, one of the local vets. Molly is a great character and I connected with her as soon as I started the book. Whilst at a conference for her new dog behavioural therapy business, Molly literally bumps into super gorgeous dentist Cam, and they cheekily end up enjoying a one night stand!! This changes Molly's life in more ways than she could ever imagine and I loved sharing Molly’s journey with her!

The book was absolutely delightful, just like all the other books in the series, and I devoured this book in less than a day! We got to meet again some of the other residents of Heartcross which we’ve come to know and love, and also some new ones! The book does focus on Molly and Cam's stories though and I found myself hooked into this with the author knowing exactly which heartstrings to pull! It is an emotional read at times, but mainly is light-hearted and heart-warming with plenty of love, laughs, and even a little bit of devious behaviour to shock you from certain characters! For me, a lot of the laughs came from Darling the dog who was so aptly named and provided some great images of Molly in wellies and running across parks!!

I honestly never doubted for a moment that I wouldn’t love this book. Even though we are six books into the series, the books just keep getting better and better! The author is so good at making you feel like you’re part of the village, and I just know that if I lived in Heartcross I’d never want to leave! There is such a lovely feeling of community running through all of the books and you can’t help but want to return there time after time! If you’re looking for a book where you get so wrapped up in the story that you don’t even notice what is going on around you, then stop right there...this is the book for you!! I love, love LOVED it!!!

Christie Barlow is a new-to-me-author and I haven't reviewed any of her previous books in the series.

I found the pacing good but the events and dialogue were predictable. I did like Molly and her friends and I was surprised that Molly and Cam got on so quickly.

Them getting to know each other was just too quick for me. I was hoping for things to be more slow-burn and for them to get to know each other better.

I was furious with Cam for taking off. That said, the hotel seemed divine and a great place for a work conference.

I did like how Christie detailed the setting, that was great. I really liked Darling the dog although she was a real terror at times. She certainly became a star in the book, she was such a character.

Ten chapters in, and I still wanted more to happen and what was happening to be more detailed. I wanted to get to know Molly more (and Cam: I wondered how much more he was going to be in the story.

I was very interested in the developments in Molly's life and as I say, I loved her friends and how they were there for her.

I have mixed feelings about this. It's a slowly developing novel, but what happened did continue to make me curious.

I would be interested in reviewing more of the books in the series.

Thanks to Christie Barlow, One More Chapter and Rachel's Random Resources for my ARC in exchange for an honest and voluntary review.

3.5 stars.

Christie Barlow does it again with the latest book in the Love Heart Lane series, as with the previous books it centres on a particular character and brings in familiar characters from previous books, meaning it can be read as a stand alone but I’d totally recommend reading them all.

This time we fall in love with 2 residents Molly and Dixie. The main story focuses on Molly a local vet who attends a conference at the amazing Starcross Manor Hotel, a chance meeting with the handsome Cam and a rather eventful evening starts changes in her life she couldn’t have imagined. The story for me had so many different tangents, each one equally drawing me in, there are some serious issues dealt with in the chapters of Mollys, Dixies and Cams life, they are sensitively written - well done Christie.

This book reminds us what an amazing community there is in Heartcross who pull together when there’s a crisis to achieve the unacheivable , and makes you want to be part of it. A book to read in a sitting if you had the time, I couldn’t put it down.

Once again, Christie has written another lovely book in her Loveheart Lane series. We meet up with old friends and are introduced to some new ones..... and a dog called Darling....

I love Christie Barlow’s books and I love Love Heart Lane series as the books are always entertaining, heart-warming and well written.
This novel is an excellent addition to this series, and I read it in one afternoon, turning pages fast and thoroughly enjoying it.
One note: my cat suffers from anxiety and I had to work with a behavioural vet to help him to overcome his difficulties. I can say that the description of Molly’s activities is quite realistic and I think that the author did a lot of researches.
Molly is a great character: she’s strong, independent, romantic and ready to fight for what she thinks is right. I loved her and rooted for her waiting for HEA.
Dixie is another great character. You cannot help feeling for her and hoping that there will be justice.
Even if these are my fav characters, I can say that the author did an excellent job in developing all the characters and her villains are very interesting and realistic.
Even if this is a rom-com I liked how the author deals with some more serious topics and her empathy toward the victims.
This is a love story but it’s also a great story about friendship, community and the strength of working together.
I can’t wait to read the next book in this series, this one is strongly recommended.
Many thanks to One More Chapter, Rachel's Random Resources and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine

Molly wants to take her 'dog whispering' skills to the next level by completing a dog training course to enable her to expand the services she offers at her veterinary practice, but she gets much more than she bargains for when she meets a mystery man at her hotel. Never usually a risk taker Molly can't deny the chemistry between her and this handsome stranger so when she discovers fate has put them in adjacent rooms she throws caution to the wind and invites him in. But, the morning after she wakes alone wondering if she had dreamt the whole encounter and with only a first name to go on her search for her runaway lover is fruitless. Back home she tells her close friends about the mystery man who has captured her heart and despite hoping to see him again Molly knows the chances are slim. That is until she bumps into him on her home turf, but handsome Cam isn't the sparkly eyed gentle man she remembers.

Cam's life is in tatters and he's returned home to his Grandmother's house to get away, but things get even more complicated for him when he stumbles upon the girl he met at the hotel all those months ago. He needs to straighten his life out and he isn't really in the right frame of mind to begin a relationship, but their paths keep crossing in the small village and sooner or later he will have to take the time to talk to Molly about that night......

Primrose Park is the 6th book in the Love Heart Lane series set in the community of Heartcross and with each story Christie just seems to up her game! Although part of a series each book including this latest offering can read as a standalone as each has a different characters' story at it's heart. This new book follows Molly who is such an easy character to become invested in as she has so many facets to her, from the strong, independent business owner to the vulnerable heartbroken lover. Barlow's character's are always so relatable and Molly is just one of a host of loveable (and unlikeable) character's in Primrose Park that bring her story to life and allow you to truly be transported into the wonderful fictional community she has created.

As with the whole series Primrose Park has a strong focus on community & friendship which I find so heart warming and a joy to read. It's delightful to see characters young and old coming together to help regardless of the situation, pulling in the same direction to fix things - it's what the world could certainly do with more of!

Primrose Park is everything I want from a book, it has all the feel good vibes to make you smile and thanks to Christie's easy writing style and pacing it's one that was practically impossible to put down even when I was meant to be going to bed - a sign of a fantastic book! Each and every book in this amazing series is worth a read, but I think this latest offering may be my favourite as they just keep getting better. I loved being transported back to Heartcross and discovering characters old and new, it was like coming home and I'd highly recommend giving it read, I adored every page.

Christie Barlow writes such excellent stories, with believable characters, so it's always a pleasure to read a book in this series with the chance to hear from my favourite characters plus find out more about others.
This time it is Molly, a vet, who has a one night stand with a man that she meets at a hotel with an unexpected outcome. She unexpectedly meets up with him again to find that he is nothing like the person she met back then. Things gradually become clearer as the story develops and the community spirit really comes to the fore. Fully realistic? Maybe not, but certainly one to lose yourself in.
I received an advance copy of this book from the publisher through Netgalley, however this did not influence my review of the book.
