When I read the blurb about this novel, I could not wait to read it. However, when I started reading it, I found myself in the middle of a family squabble. There was some mystery to this but for the most part it was very predictable. Still a great book but I am just not sure how I feel about it. There were many emotions that this book brought out and there were times I was rooting for the protagonist and times I wanted to scream at her. I wanted to believe it was going to have more mystery or thrill to it but it lacked that for me.

3 out of 5 stars

Thank you NetGalley as well as the author/publisher for allowing me to read this book in exchange for my honest review..

This was one of those books, just as soon as you think you have everything figured out, you turn a page, and you are lost again. Book was gripping until the end, and reveal how the whole past and present fits together.

Some fantastic twists! Really kept me hooked from the very beginning and didn't let up. It moves along at a good pace too.

This was quite a good thriller with a good pace and it kept my attention, I thought parts of it were quite predictable but that didn’t spoil it at all

Two generations of sisters and two generations of sibling rivalry and secrets. I went into reading this book looking for a fast paced thriller, I got for me a family drama that moved at an okay pace. I think the book is beautifully written if predictable. Being predictable didn't stop my enjoyment.

Same family issues - different generation! I enjoyed this twisty story that had plenty of jealousy, female characters, and shenanigans. At times a bit confusing due to the cast of characters but slowly I got it all sorted out. I received an ARC from NetGalley and the publisher and this is my honest opinion.

This one was really intriguing at first but fell a little bit flat for me. The ending was really odd and disjointed.

This book had everything. Secrets, drama, scandal. I loved this book and the plot got me first go. It keeps you on the edge of your seat. You feel so many emotions reading this book. You feel connected to the characters and I promise you , you wont want to stop reading it.

This was an enjoyable read albeit a bit predictable. Couldn't quite fully connect with the story or the characters but I did get through it. It seemed a little forced and had quite a bit packed into it so a bit too full on for me. There are some excellent reviews for it thought so its just my personal view.

Thank you Netgalley.

New author for me, but as was was impressed with this story and thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish, so as will definitely be looking to read more by this author in the future.

The story was very well written, full on drama and never a dull moment, pretty intense and dramatic at times too. The story was narrated by Brooke, Freya in the present and then Aunt Alice in the past, via alternate chapters, it was done flawlessly which is a good thing as given the similarities between the two interlinking stories of that in the present and that of the one in the past, it could very easily have got confusing if the story hadn’t been so very well written. There were plenty of wow moments, grasps of surprise and sitting on the edge of my seat wondering what might happen next or how a certain event was going to play out. It was highly entertaining, loved it.

I thought the characters were brilliantly developed, loved getting to know each of them, my favourite was definitely Brooke and little Hope. I didn’t much like Freya right from the beginning, and as for Aunt Alice, well I definitely had mixed views on her.

I loved the shocking ending, although I did think it ended abruptly thereafter. Would have liked it a lot more if there was like an epilogue say six months on or a year on, so as to see how the survivors of the family were getting on.

A family full of lies, deceit and hatred for each other running down in generations, wanting to prove they would do anything for family but yet hurting each other in the process both physically and mentally.
I great book which had me gripped and guessing from the start and gasping when things were revealed. Had more twists and turn that’s a rollercoaster, if I could give more than 5* I would, a great book that everyone needs to read. I look forward to reading more from this author.

This is about sisters and their secrets. But this family seems to have many many secrets. It is a twist and turn mystery and more is going on than it seems. In the beginning it was difficult to keep track, Diane and Alice in the past, then Brooke and Freya in the present. But it becomes clear that history in a sense is repeating itself. Great story and a new author to follow.

Contrary to a some other reviews I really enjoyed this book. The book opens with Brooke returning home after 11 years as she received an invitation to her sister Freya’s wedding. After the death of their parents Brooke and Freya were brought up by their Aunt Alice and her daughter Lizzie. Brooke left home, racked with guilt, after a party 11 years previous ended up with her boyfriend at the time taking his own life. Brooke and Freya always had a complicated relationship and this is made worse when Brooke meets Freya’s fiancé it is obvious that they know each other, Brooke is also concerned over her Aunt as she has early onset of dementia. The story is told in the past and present. We learn about the relationship between Aunt Alice and her sister Diana, Brooke and Freya’s mother, the reasons why Alice became their guardians and see how the sibling rivalry has affected the two generations. This book was a thrilling and gripping read, full of secrets, jealousy and lies and kept me gripped throughout. A really enjoyable read.
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

Hands down one of the best thrillers I read this year. This story is as twisted as it gets! I litterly couldn't put it down and read in a day. This story of two sisters is a relationship we can all relate to. But don't think you know how it ends because it was a shocker for me even a seasoned lover of mystery was surprised! A must read!
