Unfortunately, this book couldn't hold my attention for longer that a minute. And I really, really tried.
The dialogues feel constricted and forced, and little bit 'out of this world' but not in a good way. The world felt absolutely alien to me, even though it was described to the smallest detail.
I'm truly sorry, but it's a no no from me.

Another book that took me completely by surprise! I set into this blind and absolutely loved it.

Harmon Waite is a private eye, and when a friend's daughter is murdered they ask him to take up the case. This leads him down a path that forever changes him.

The plot of this was fast paced and filled with action and intrigue. It gripped me from the start and I devoured the book. It starts with the mystery of his friends daughters death, but Waite soon finds other girls murdered with the same M.O. This leads him to meet Smoke and Eirian. From there things really pick up and the world and plot building shine!! So much happens and the book felt way longer than it actually was!!

My favourite though, has to be the characters. Well written and developed, they made the book so much more enjoyable. Waite was a great character and a worthy hero, but I must admit that I loved Smoke!! He was awesome and I need to see more of him!

In all, this was such a great read and I'm looking forward to reading the rest in the series.

Waite on the Ripper by John Campbell, I wanted to enjoy it but it took a few too many turns away from anything in common with it. Thank you for giving me a chance with this book and I do think others will enjoy it.
