A clever twisty thriller about Annie. a woman who discovers her husband Sam isn't who she thought he was. His disappearance opens a whole can of worms she never expected. No spoilers from me.

This was a brilliant read. Well-paced, super twisty, unreliable narrators, just the things I like to see in a psychological thriller! It's hard to review this without giving away spoilers as the story really throws you around all over the place, but I'd highly recommend it and have added the author's other work to my to read list too as I couldn't get enough of it!

This is a psychological thriller with a strange plot
This book has a lot of twists and turns
In the middle it becomes a bit disjointed. The ending was very rushed

Goodnight Beautiful Aimee Molloy
Well this book didn't go the way I thought it would, and that always grabs my attention. Just when I thought I had it all worked out, BAM! I was wrong.
Great thriller, brilliant read.

If you like a book full of twists and multiple narratives, this is the book for you. But if you're a psychology student like me (or a qualified psychologist or psychiatrist) and are fed up with how the field is portrayed in media, I should warn you that aspects of this book might irritate you a bit.
So this is a kind of mystery, thriller novel where Dr Sam Statler suddenly goes missing. He has recently moved to a small town with his wife, Annie. Through multiple narrative viewpoints and from different time points, we as the reader begin to piece the story together and try to understand what has happened to Sam. As I said, it is very twisty, and there are definitely some elements that surprised me. I have seen some other reviewers criticise this book for relying too heavily on the twists, which I do understand. But I enjoyed it overall and appreciated how clever it was.
The portrayal of the psychiatric profession in this book did get a little under my skin. I won't discuss it too much so as to avoid spoilers, but the ending just didn't sit right with me. It was just too farfetched, I think. I don't know, maybe I'm being picky.
So overall, I did enjoy this book and did not see a lot of the twists and turns coming. Now I've read it once, I don't know how much I'd enjoy it a second time round. 4 or maybe just about 4.5 stars.

Newlyweds Sam Statler and Annie Potter move to upstate New York. Sam is a therapist and works long hours in his downstairs office, leaving Annie to fill a lot of lonely hours by herself. Sam doesn’t know that through a vent in his ceiling, his sessions can be heard by Annie from the room upstairs. Then a French girl in a green mini Cooper shows up and Sam and Annie's lives suddenly and drastically change.

A thoroughly enjoyable read. Thank you for allowing me the ARC for this.

Quite a clever piece of writing, I liked how author Aimee Molloy wrapped me in her subplots, never knowing what secrets were being hidden. The tiny clues given to me were delicious enough that I didn’t bother to question them.

Unreliable narrator was chosen as the theme, but more importantly, she used her words to twist it all around, until it became my understanding that was unreliable. She presented me with a puzzle that I was more than happy to get my hands on it.

Sam and Annie had moved to his old hometown as his mother needed him, and he needed her money. Annie was the bystander, but not so innocent one, as she too had secrets of her own. Then Sam disappeared.

Droll humor in most of the lines, the book moved with a swift pace, leaving me with a couple of niggles. In some parts the prose felt to be too long and rambling and the ending too short and quick, but nothing that can’t be overlooked as the majority of the book entertained me well.

The number of twists, big and small, the book presented me with had me going dizzy, in a good way. A good, very good way to spend a lazy afternoon.

This book is creepy and bonkers and I am totally here for it. I was totally blindsided by all the plot twists and reveals and thoroughly enjoyed it. I would read more by this author.

A twister and turner! This book was intriguing and kept me guessing. I thought it was well structured and the narrative voice was used effectively. One of those books that makes you feel really satisfied at the denouement. I’d definitely read more by this author.

Goodnight, Beautiful took me on a literary ride that I wasn't expecting but exceeded my expectations. If you are looking for a wild journey with twists and turns and don't mind an unreliable narrator, this book is for you. It's best to go into this book without too much context IMO.

Many thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for sharing this book with me. All thoughts are my own.

Despite the interesting premise for this story, unfortunately it was not the book for me. I tried several times to immerse myself in the story and get involved with the characters but without success and I wasn't able to finish it,

This is a really good, dark and twisty thriller. The story is about Sam, a phycologist that has just moved into town, when he is offered a space to set up his office he can't believe his good luck but things quickly turn bad when Sam doesn't turn up home one night. This is one of the better thrillers I have read in a while, really enjoyed it.

I devoured this book - reading straight through to the finish!! There are several twists in this book that will stop you in your tracks. This is the perfect psychological thriller with a nod to Stephen King.
Annie and Sam are desperately in love newlyweds, with a perfect marriage, or so it seems. But Sam is hiding things from his beautiful wife, and then he disappears without a trace.
Twisted!!

This is a brilliantly and cleverly written psychological thriller, which at the beginning lulls you into a gentle story and I admit I did think ‘where is this going?’ But then a turn of the page and your whole thought process is turned upside down. I really admire the skill of this author and actually after finishing the book went back and reread parts again! I love a book that has a number of wtf moments. I’m going to look out for more from this very talented author.

From the very start, I was gripped by this enthralling tale by Aimee Molloy. Sam Statler and his wife, Annie Potts have just moved from Manhattan to his hometown in Chestnut Hill, New York, after just a few weeks of marriage. They celebrate their anniversary weekly, and Annie knows how to keep things hot and spicy. Sam spends long hours in his downstairs office, located in an old property, with his mostly female clientele. He has no idea that his sessions can clearly be overheard via a vent in the ceiling from the room upstairs.

Cleverly plotted, all the classic ingredients for the best psychological thrillers are present in Goodnight, Beautiful, brought to a simmer with a touch of class. Aimee Molloy's use of misdirection is second to none and I read this remarkable psychological thriller in one sitting. Absolutely brilliant and extremely addictive, I have been inspired to pick up a copy of The Perfect Mother and I will be adding Aimee Molloy to my auto-read author list after reading this masterful piece of work.

I received a complimentary copy of this novel at my request from Hodder & Stoughton via NetGalley. This review is my own unbiased opinion.

Sorry this book was not for me. Yes there were parts that reminded me of Misery by stephen king but not as creepy,
I got confused about the characters and their different names, and the two main characters Annie and Sam I could not get to like them.
The final part of the book got more interesting.
I read other people’s reviews on this book and everyone gave five stars, perhaps I was not in the correct mood to read this book, but only three stars from me.
