A good and interesting read!

I would recommend this to everyone who loves a good story with captivating characters! Definitely a good read!

Y’all I was highly impressed with this novel. I mean wow... it definitely exceeded my expectations. Creepy read and the writing was amazing!

I enjoyed this for what it was. I liked the characters and I liked the atmosphere and will definitely be checking out more works from this author in the near future!

I was looking forward to Aimee Molloy's new release after enjoying her debut, and Goodnight, Beautiful didn't disappoint. I enjoyed it even more than The Perfect Mother.
At the beginning it was all right, I was interested in Sam and Annie's relationship and found them both intriguing, but I was waiting for something exciting to happen. Then part one ended with a killer twist, and from that moment I was hooked! It is a twist which I have seen before, but it's one of my favourite kind of twists, and it caught me completely unaware. I had to go back and re-read certain passages because I was so shocked!
After that the story had some other surprises, though not as good as the first, and the plot was fast-moving and engaging. I couldn't wait to see how things would end. However, I must say that I would have enjoyed it a little more if it hadn't relied a little too much on the plot of a certain Stephen King book, but I still enjoyed the story very much.
Again, I can't wait to see what this author writes next!

Overall, I would definitely still try another Aimee Malloy sorry as the writing style was good but in this book the characters didn't interest me.

I think I've read too many thrillers recently where there is an intriguing scene to start with and then a flash back to 'three months earlier' - so the beginning didnt feel particularly original, Psychotherapist Sam, his beautiful wife Annie, small town America. Lots of good ingredients for a story but didnt hit the spot for me unfortunately.

Goodnight Beautiful is a creepy chilling psychological thriller,full of unexpected twists and turns .I found this book very enjoyable ,gripping and a very clever plot .I also thought the ending was satisfying .Many thanks to the Publisher the Author and NetGalley for my copy in return for an honest review .

This is a difficult book to review without spoilers, but I will do my best. I found the first part of this book extremely confusing but this was, I think, deliberate misdirection by the author. When I finished the book I had to go back to the beginning to check that the confusion was not my lack of concentration. The story seemed to change direction and then when I caught up with the plot there was a section where I could not put the book down, although the plot came from another well-known book. When I finally appreciated where the tale was going it was all wrapped up too neatly for me so I was dissatisfied to a certain degree with the ending.

I find this a bit difficult to review. I thought the premise was intriguing but 24 hours after finishing the book I'm not sure if I liked it or not!

There is a twist about a third the way in that completely knocked me for six but having slept on it, I don't know if the twist was really clever or just a bit annoying, because it doesn't really add anything to the story, it just takes away what you thought you knew about a certain character.

I didn't warm to Sam or Annie, and as they are the victims that was a bit of a problem. I had a lot more feelings and sympathy for the antagonist, which again was a bit of a problem!

I did quite enjoy the story but I thought the twists were thrown in purely for shock factor rather than to progress the plot, and the only character I liked was the one I wasn't supposed to like!

I wasn't sure where it was going in the first part, but then bam! Part 2 had two twists that made me go back and quickly read Part 1 again in a different voice!

What is going on in Annie and Sam's marriage and where is Sam, when they've just returned to his home town? You should absolutely read this!

I won’t go into the synopsis as it’s best to go in blind with this book plus it’s hard to do so without giving away spoilers. Aimee Molloy isn’t a new to me author I did previously read her debut ‘ The perfect Mother’ so going in I knew I would like the writing style of this book.

First half is crazy twisty and we get two plot twists that are unexpected and is exactly what you need In a well executed gripping thriller. Sadly for me it went left field in the second half, it was boring and not a lot was happening, but the main reason why I was disappointed with where the story ended up going in the second half is because it was clearly modelled on a famous classic mystery book. I had high hopes especially with the promising first half but sadly by the end it just wasn’t for me.

Goodnight Beautiful is my first book by this author.

The book is a psychological thriller. And it is divided into three parts. There are both 3rd person and 1st person POVs.

The book starts with an interesting prologue. The book then goes back 3 months to show us what led up to the events in the prologue.

The story focuses on Dr. Sam Statler and his wife Annie. He is a therapist and he and his new wife Annie have moved back to his home town of Chestnut Hill, New York. He sees his new patients in an office downstairs.

There were definitely some things to like about this book. I liked that many of the characters had secrets. And I liked that the book was full of twists.

But when I think about an overall rating I have mixed feelings. Some of it was a bit slow for me. And I definitely wanted more. But there were some very interesting developments. And there were definitely some impressive reveals (this was by far my favorite part of the book). But I'm not sure if that is enough to make me love this book.

Psychological thrillers don't get any better than Goodnight, Beautiful. I don't have the words to describe how much I enjoyed this book.
As engrossing as it is moving, the characters - Annie, Sam, Albert - are vivid and original. There are so many clever twists and turns you would need a very good crystal ball to see even half of them.
The novel is unsettling in its credibility. A rare achievement.

I haven’t read anything from Molloy before but have heard great things about this book. I really enjoyed the first half particularly and when the plot twist was added in I found I had to go back to the start and read it all again! It was gripping and a lot of fun to read. The second half of the book wasn’t as good as the first as it was a copy of a very famous book. I enjoyed the little hints to it, but found that by comparing the books, it couldn’t be as good as the original which ruined it slightly for me, but the first half was brilliant. Definitely worth a read.

Goodnight, Beautiful blew me away. Even without the big ‘reveal’ halfway through that was so unexpected and so devious I had to go back and skim a few chapters to confirm what I just read/understood was actually correct and not an editing error. It was so awe inspiring that I burst out laughing at the authors brilliance, and audacity, how she carefully formed the chapters and exactly how she was creating this brilliant psychological thriller that I could not put down once I started. One of the best of the year!

Wow this was a great thriller! It was totally like King's Misery but even more of a twist. I love the twist when you realize what is actually going on. I would highly recommend this one!

Annie and Sam have a wonderful life settling into his home town. They are newlyweds in love, enjoying an intense relationship when Sam disappears. Has he run from his problems that Annie didn’t know about or something else?
Firstly I nearly didn’t finish this book. I just didn’t ‘get’ the first portion but then I got to ‘the page’ that turns it all upside down and inside out and from then I was hooked! It’s really well written and I would recommend you try it and keep at it without a doubt! Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for this arc in exchange for my honest review.

I have read so many psychological thrillers with unreliable narrators that it was almost becoming a bit of a bore. Until I read this novel. OH. MY. WORD. I was fooled not once, not twice, not even three times.

The twists were SO unexpected that I questioned what I had read and actually had to turn pages back a few times…and each time I experienced that “Hell no!” moment of clarification.

Nothing can be explained or examined without creating spoilers. Just read this book. You will be glad you did!

Did somebody open a window? Because there is a breath of fresh air blowing through the genre of psychologic thrillers with unreliable narrators. Aimee Molloy played masterfully with my expectation and let me make assumptions just to blew it all over. After the first twist I had to go back and reread a few chapters to check how she outsmarted me. And don’t ask how I gasped after the next twist.

It probably gets boring to get repeatedly the advice in reviews that you should go blind into a book. But most of the time it is true and it is definitely true for this book. I am afraid to say too much so I would spoil it for you. There is a newlywed couple, Annie and Sam. They moved from New York to a small town to care for the Sam’s mother. They are happy and in love. Sam is a therapist and he has set up his own office. And that’s enough you have to know.

This was my first book from the author. I am not sure I am going to read her previous book because I had my share of books about missing children. But I will definitely watch out for her next book because I just loved how she was able to put a new meaning into the strained stylistic device of the unreliable narrator. This clever and twisted psychological thriller was a much appreciated fresh approach to this genre and enjoyed it very much. I would have given it 5 stars but towards the end it gets a bit muddled and as much as I dislike long showdowns, the end was a bit too neatly and quick delivered. But that’s complaining on a very high level. If you like psychological thriller go and get this one!
