Fun and educational. A little too relaxed with the timespan (it is implied that these kids were in his body for hours), but I think this will be a good tool to teach children about the digestive system.

'Adventures in the Digestive System' by Alexander Lowe with art by Sebastian Kadlecik is a graphic novel featuring The Bod Squad, a group of kids who can shrink down and explore the body.

The kids are having a picnic and Logan eats too much. The rest of the crew want to se how Logan's body will process the food he eats. They shrink down and ride bits of cheese from the mouth all the way down to the large intestine.

It's a kids book that is both informative and gross. I like that about the two volumes I've read so far. The illustrations are ok and I think it would be a fun series for young explorers.

I received a review copy of this ebook from Norwood House Press and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for allowing me to review this ebook.

Thank you to NetGalley and Norwood House Press for my copy of Adventures in the DIgestive System by Alexander Lowe in exchange for an honest review. It published July 15, 2o2o.
I had the help of two eight year olds and a six year old for the review of this book. The first thing they said about these books in this series is, "These are way better than Magic School Bus books, they're much more grown up".
I used this book as a discussion for their science lesson today, and they were very interested. There isn't too much information to lose their interest, but plenty of little tidbits threaded through to keep them learning as they are being entertained.
The digestive system book was a winner here! There is something about how poop is made that really seems to make kids pay attention and laugh! Whatever it takes! I think this book was well-written but didn't go for too much of a gross out, and I haven't seen many kids' digestive system books that even address the appendix, so, bravo! I think this book would keep any kids' interest from kindergarten up to middle school. Comic books for the win!
This would make an excellent gift for any kid learning about the body. Honestly, I kind of wished I had these as a resource when I was taking Anatomy and Physiology in college. They present the information so clearly that there's no room for confusion, (compared to my textbook and PowerPoint presentations!)

We are doing a human body unit study for homeschooling this year and this series of books are perfect to incorporate into our studies!

This is a really great book series for kids interested in science. It’s really educational, but at the same time a fun read for kids as they can relate to the characters.

In this book, the gang explores the digestive system. They give a lot of facts about how things work inside the human body.

The illustrations are effective and eye catching.

My kids loved reading the whole series, and I would wholeheartedly recommend it for kids as they can gain a lot of knowledge about biology through this book series.

Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for providing me with an advance reader’s copy for an honest review.

I really liked the idea behind this story and was delighted to see that this book was one of five available! The characters were great and I liked the way that they were used to tell us more about the Digestive System and it does not baffle the reader with too much science – I think it was perfectly pitched.

The images were ok too – it is 4 stars from me for this one – highly recommended!

This time, the Bod Squad is going to investigate how Logan's digestive system works. They jump on a food and got inside Logan's body.

Explained as an adventure, it is surely interesting to learn how one's body works. This time we learn how food is processed by our body daily,

This is a fantastic educational book for children about what happens in the digestive system of the human body. The Bod Squad investigate what happens inside the body when we eat food. It is a very interesting book which I really loved. It is a must have book for any child, or even as a refresher book for an adult. My daughter enjoyed this book with me and she thought it was fun. We loved the Bod Squad and the illustrations.

Many thanks to the author, publisher and netgalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Like the rest of the books in this series, Adventures in the Digestive System is a short graphic novel for elementary school-aged kids that features a group of friends who can shrink down small enough to enter the human body and help a friend out. In this adventure, the kids shrink down to figure out what's bother their friend Logan's digestive system after he eats a little too much on their picnic.

As always, the scientific information in this book is accurate, educational, and presented in a way that younger kids will understand. It will also remind their teachers and parents of The Magic School Bus in all the best ways, and can be thoroughly enjoyed by all.

I appreciate the acknowledgment that medical scientists still don't know what the appendix does, but that it definitely isn't useless. Thank you for not perpetuating that myth for the younger generation!

As children grow older, they begin to become aware of the world around them. The phase of getting to know the world around you is inevitably accompanied by the phase of asking 100 questions within 5 minutes. And although at first it seems sweet or irresistible, after a while of hearing the phrase ‘But why?’ after each given answer, believe me that every parent goes crazy, at least a bit. I really regret not having this picture book at a time when my daughter asks me ‘Why do people poop?’ And ‘How does food turn into poop?’.

As in the previous picture book 'Adventures in the Nervous System' from the series 'The Bod Squad', in 'Adventures in the Digestive System' as well, the author Alexander Lowe masterfully takes the children into the world of fantasy to reveal all the secrets of the digestive system. The comics technique, as well as the great illustrations, are enough to attract and keep the attention of your little one, and the carefully composed sentences are enough to answer their questions, in a way that the children fully understand. During the trip, they will get acquainted with some new lexical items, such as esophagus, saliva, stomach, small intestine and others, which will help them understand the process of digestion, as well as learn new words. The glossary. Is absolutely amazing addition.

The mixed ethnic team of children is a wonderful touch, which will enable the children to get acquainted with the concept of equality and respect for diversity.

I am very happy to have the book when my little son gets in the questioning phase. Great choice for all parents with young children.

This is fun to read for someone who likes science and is a visual learner. The information about the digestive system is easy to understand so that anyone can digest it without feeling saturated with information.

Adventures in the Digestive System is a short and cool comic about our digestive system.
It's well written, to the point, with all the necessary information for children that are still in the process of understanding our most basic functionality.
The art style is nice and easy to the eye, while the narrative is fun.
I definitely recommend the book.

I got this on Netgalley in exchange for an honest review!

I really like this series! It is really informative about the functions of the body, without making it too heavy or boring!
The explanations in this are done well and adapted perfectly to a younger audience.
I think this one really nails the digestive system and even mentions the lack of knowledge about the appendix.
