I felt that this book was just ok. I was glad it was a fairly short read because there are only so many times you would want to hear Laura's back on forth on whether her husband is guilty. She was a very self involved character and just lacks any discernable depth. It was not terrible, however it was just completely outlandish and farfetched. Thanks for the ARC, NetGalley.

Rather humdrum and 'telling' throughout - but it worked for the point of view and the short/er chapters made for a quick and rather compelling read. The secrets were pretty surprising throughout, I'll admit. Not groundbreaking for the genre, but solid in its footing as it delivers a catchy atmosphere that's right in line for this type of story

I would firstly like to thank Netgalley and the publishers for allowing me the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

A first read from this author, and honesty a pretty average book overall. Not bad, but nothing massively exciting. The story moved along at a steady pace, and i was intrigued but not the best book I've read.

Five little words can say so little, or it can say so much. Depending on who says it and how its said. This was very true of this thrilling novel. Recommended.

Five Little Words by Jackie Walsh is an entertaining thriller.

Laura gets cards in the mail congratulating her on having a son, but one card says, “Your husband is a murderer. Where was he the night Vicky was killed?”

Everyone has secrets even the characters that seem the most innocent. Laura has a secret she is afraid of her husband finding out.

Nicely written but I've read better books along the same lines.
It did keep me guessing for a while though.

An easy to read book that kept me guessing to the end. However a couple of loose ends remained unanswered.

Thank you Netgalley for this ARC of Five Little Words by Jackie Walsh.

In this Irish drama, Laura has just gotten a note through the mail box. Delighted, she opens it, knowing that it will be a congratulations for the arrival of her new baby boy. Instead it's a shocking accusation that her husband is responsible for the well known death of one of the ladies in town.

Being newly wed to Shay means not knowing him inside and out. Could her new husband be responsible for something that heinous? And if so, how would she find out?

A very classic whodunit with a domestic spin. I enjoyed it just fine. The characters were a bit one dimensional, and it dragged at times, but for an easy way to pass the time, this will do.

A decently entertaining thriller, sadly it didn’t capture my attention much. The plot was promising but had a number of plot holes which I felt could’ve been dealt with better.
A new non Laura suspects her husband of a murder but has secrets of her own.
As such the premise is one which interests me a lot but this was an average book.

I enjoyed this easy, fast thriller that is full of secrets and lies...lots and lots of lies. The ending was a little bit disappointing though. The story flows well and overall it kept me intrigued and invested and the chapters were short, which I appreciate.

Thank you to Netgalley for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

The title of this book got my attention and reading the description made me more interested to read this book. However, like other reviewers, I found this book to be slow.
It is told from the perspective of the narrator, Laura, only. Laura is a new mom and she discovers a mysterious card within the congratulations on you new baby cards. The card says that her husband is a murderer and thus the mystery begins. So is he or isn't he?
Throughout the book we are told of her many feelings and everything she does that day. Because we are privy to her entire thoughts, it didn't give much insight into the motives and personality of the other characters. I think this is the reason I didn't care for the main character or the other characters in this book. I felt that there were a lot of red herrings thrown into this book that made me wanting more information from the overall final outcome.

Thank you Net Galley for providing this book.
