I like the style of the gangland books by Roberta Kray. They are gritty, full of lies and deceit, bent coppers and filled with plenty drama. This one is based on an estate in London and focuses on the life of a young girl whose mother died when she was 4. It's fast paced and has plenty twists and turns. i was disappointed with the ending but would definitely recommend the read. Thanks to Net Galley for my ARC.

This is my first book written by Roberta Kray but it won't be my last. I was drawn in from the beginning. I loved the gritty style of this fast paced book. I loved the twists in the book and the realisation when Chrissie realised her mum was murdered was heartbreaking. I really enjoyed this rollercoaster ride of emotions.

Roberta Kray writes thrilling stories of London’s underworld and has the ability to make you feel part of it.
Chrissy Moss is a teenager living with her NaN and her uncle in a towerblock in a deprived part of London. Her mother died when she was 4 and Chrissy had been brought up to believe that she had died as a result of an accident - but was it ?
There is murder, missing child, vigilantes, lies, police corruption, gangland criminals and even a hint of romance. What more can you expect from one book.
Thoroughly enjoyed and would recommend to like minded readers.

One of my favorite authors ever and believe me this book is just as good as all her others. I love her way of writing and how each book refers to characters in her previous books. The lead character in this book hasn't had the easiest life and that really helps you to feel empathy for her whilst she goes through the trials and tribulations of life. Growing up on the Mansfield certainly brings its own troubles! I flew through every single page and I already can't wait for Roberta to release another book. 10/10

As alway a great story from Roberta, the Eastend of London always seems to generate these fantastic story lines! Not the usual blood and guts of the gangland stories, however a different slant on this one, makes for a fantastic read. A great page turner.

Chrissy Moss was just 4 years old when her mother was hit and killed by a train.

Now 1975 living in on the Mansfield estate with her Nan and Uncle Pete, when her school friend Dawn goes missing.

Chrissy is listening to too many rumours on the estate that her mum was murdered. Nan Elise tells her to let things lie, she is determined to find out the truth and get the answers she so desperately wants.

Another fantastic page turning read by Roberta, so good to back in Kellston with familiar names and places, the Streets and Connolly's the Cafe.

Gripping and as always a twist in the tale.

Gripping right through.
Chrissy Moss along with her two mates Zelda Graham and Dawn Kearns are fourteen year old teens its 1975 and they hung out on the Manfield Estate Kellston London.
Chrissy was orphaned at four years old and lived with her Nan Elsie and her uncle Pete.
But then her mate Dawn goes missing, she doesn't turn up for school and the two girls worry, her mums no better so they report her missing to the police.
D.S. Will Sutherland and her Nan go way back what really happened to her mum Laura all those years ago falling under a train was it suicide, accident or was she pushed murder?
Chrissy has got a lot of soul searching to look into she isn't going to let anything rest about her mum or Dawn, so much has been unanswered.
So much is unfolding in every chapter of this book as you read, lies as well as secret's.
i enjoyed all of it.
