Thank you for the opportunity to review this book.

This children’s book is VERY unique! First, the premise is that the masterpiece is a MONSTERpiece — the drawings are constructed with various material and colors. They are spooky little creatures that are super cute and fun. I thought this book would appeal to kids because of the colorful illustrations that looks like arts and crafts / fun with food and making messes (just being honest!). A cool unique book :)

What a fun, colorful, cute book! This book would definitely engage childrenZ. Very interactive. It could also inspire the little artist to create their own Monsterpiece! I have a grandson who is 2 1/2 who would love this!

My Monsterpiece is a cute kid's story about a child trying to draw a scary monster and coming to the conclusion that "scary" is in the eye of the beholder. The illustrations are perfect for the story, as they are childlike and bursting with color.

I received a free digital copy of this book from the publishers via Netgalley. My review is voluntary.

I love the design of the book, mixing art work with photo of real life artwork and objects. Very beautifully done, with a sweet storyline.

If I had one word to describe this book it would be attention-grabbing. The vivid colours and sometimes 3D artwork by the illustrator make this book very appealing. The story was pleasing too. I’m sure kids would pick this book from a pile.

Thank you to the author, the publisher, and NetGalley for granting me early access to My Monsterpiece in exchange for an honest review.

My Monsterpiece is a children's picturebook full of mixed media illustrations that tell the story of a child who is trying to draw the perfect scary monster to scare their family and friends. I absolutely love the colourful creations on these pages, and I think this book will inspire a generation of artists to let loose and have fun with their creations.

I can't wait for my own daughter to be old enough to do arts and crafts like this with me. I'll definitely be bringing this ARC out for inspiration sometime next year when she's reading, and I will let my sister who teaches Kindergarden know to look out for this one in February.

Bright colourful storybook which is great fun for preschool children.
This book teaches a child that what you get think may be scary, actually isn't to other people at all.

A bright and cheery illustrated book perfect for preschool and kindergarten aged children. Super cute and easy read that may help children who are scared of monsters.

I was surprised at how funny this illustrated art book for children was. I was expecting it to be a little bit scary for my daughter since the book is about drawing monsters, but she was laughing so much while I was reading it to her and she really loved the illustrations. It is a book that I will read again to her and she can copy some of the monster drawings.

Many thanks to the author, publisher and netgalley for allowing me to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

I hope the author doesn't take offense to this but this book is like something out of a bad drug trip or a nightmare. Im not sure if its because I am being overly sensitive to seeing things going on in the world with politics and perverts. I would concider this book for maybe a 6 year old but even at that I would be leery of it. I could just be overly sensitive. To me, it just seems a bit bizarre. I get the idea of monsters and trying to make them more appealing so they dont scare children but I'm just not kosher with this.

This is so cute! Even the monsters are cute! I loved that the author also showed the little monster's perspective about how scary kids are.

With illustrations that are vibrant and creative and fun, this is a fun book about creativity, trial and error, and redefining what is scary.

Hmmm… There is a pair of good books in these covers – by which I mean to say I would have enjoyed either one of them, but the way the two halves combined left me feeling short. We start with a frustrated kid, trying to draw a monster and just not being able to scare anyone – the whole family and neighbourhood accept it as cute, or smart, or likeable, and not monstrous at all. With that result, the narrator and book invert the scenario, and go about doing the same from a fictional monster's point of view, posing the possibility that it would have an identical problem when drawing humans. Thus the book tries to force three morals on us – that monsters need not always be scary, that perhaps you should just like the fact someone likes your artwork even if they misunderstand it, and the well-worn idea that monsters might dread us for being so different. I think what got my goat the most was all the "what if"s about the monsters – yes, some might be cuddly and popcorn fans, but they don't make for a proper monster in a proper monster story. With all those ifs and buts and maybes, I didn't feel the "ooh suddenly the fictitious monster and our kid were getting along fine" ending was actually earnt. Two and a half stars.

This delightful storybook will really appeal to young artists!

It features mixed media artwork which really adds colour and depth to the pages. The story is simple, making it perfect for younger children and new readers, and contains a lovely message that art doesn’t have to be just one thing.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

What a fun book with awesome mixed media illustrations!

It’s a bright and colorful book about a kid who keeps drawing scary monsters that just don’t seem to frighten people away. A great book for elementary kids/early readers!
