Very interesting story about a Christmas time dragon, with great illustrations. I also love rhyming books.

My daughter wanted to make the stew in the end, I looked over the recipe and laughed, at the idea of her wanting to eat something with so much chili peppers inside.

What a fun and original Christmas story. Duffy the Dragon has to help Santa and the reindeer deliver all the presents safely! Children with great imaginations and/or with a love of dragons will become absorbed in this one.

This was so heartwarming! A Rudolph-esque tale, that shows even when you're feeling down there's always someone that needs you.

The illustrations were really pretty - they're obviously from an older book, but I prefer more natural illustrations anyway.

A great bedtime read for kids and very festive.

Cute Christmas story for young kids. A dragon saving Christmas instead of rudolf the red nose reindeer.

The most wonderful and enchanting tale of a dragon on a little adventure with Santa and his reindeers. With the rhyming and colours, it was so much fun and i couldnt keep a smile of my face as i read along. It makes me feel like talking in rhymes, and trust me you'd want to read it before every bedtime..

Adorable.stpry of how a dragon saves Christmas by making sure Santa doesnt slip on the ice on snow on the rooftops. Colorful, whimsical illustrations accompany the story.

This book has been around for over a decade. It's obviously being released again. And a re-release would've been the perfect time to give the text a polish. Sadly, that opportunity wasn't taken.

Duffy appears to be the pet dragon of a king. On Christmas Eve, the king is away visiting an aunt, leaving Duffy with his friends in the castle. Santa Claus ends up slipping on all the icy roofs, and he needs Duffy's help to melt the snow with his dragon breath. The dragon helps, and Christmas is saved.

And what does Duffy get for his troubles after all of that? A photo of himself. Way to cheap out, Santa. (Aren't dragons supposed to be fond of... well, "stuff"?)

The whole book is written in rhyming verse. The meter isn't great, but I've seen worse. (Oops... Sorry about that inadvertent poem there.) The problem is the writing. The punctuation is off. Capitalization is inconsistent. There are made-up words that I can't figure out (like "wooping"... which may just be a misspelling of "swooping"). The continual use of "reindeers" as a plural is just annoying.

Overall, this is a fairly weak Christmas story. Kids might like it if they're big fans of dragons, though.

This was the cutest story with a Dragon I have ever read. This book was so beautiful, I trully love this style of art in books for kids or any kind of books. I loved it with this cute dragon!
I hope that the author with the artist will work on more stories of Duffy and the King. The story was well written in rhymes and thanks to the illustrations, It ended up so adorable and enjoyable. A great book for kids to have and a nice dragon for them to discover.

What a delightful little Christmas read! Duffy the super helpful dragon helps save Christmas when Santa is unable to land on house roofs due to ice. Duffy comes to the rescue breathing dragon fire to melt the ice! The illustrations are delightful and the rhyming nature of the book make it a fun, fluid read.

I found this mildly entertaining. But that may be because i am not a child. Still, it was colourful and enjoyable, love anything with dragons or Christmas

This is a cute little story about a dragon that helps save Christmas. The watercolor illustrations were charming. For the most part I enjoyed the rhyme, though there were a few places where it seemed a little forced. Good fun.

A perfect tale for any little Princes or Princesses. The stew recipe at the end was a hoot. Children of all ages will totally enjoy this NEW and very different Christmas tale! Or is that Christmassy Tail?

Lovely little book that I think will appeal to a range of ages.
Rhyming verses keep the storyline fun, and who doesn't like to read Christmas books? Combine that with dragons and you on to a winner!
The illustrations were lovely and colourful too so eye-catching.

DUFFY THE CHRISTMASSY DRAGON // by Kate Noble // illustrated by Kara Olson

Duffy the Christmassy Dragon is an adorable story about a dragon that helps Santa save Christmas thanks to the skills that only he possesses. I really loved this story! It is so adorable! It is a great length for a children's book and the rhythm that carries throughout is very fun. Olson's illustrations are beautiful and absolutely perfect for this as well.

This is not only a great story to read at Christmas, but also for any child, or even adult, who enjoys reading stories about castles, dragons, and kings. This book is definitely one to take your child's mind on a good ride with their imagination. A king goes away to visit a family member at Christmas, and cannot take his beloved dragon with him. But, while the king is away, and the dragon is taking joy in making soup, Santa makes an unexpected appearance, and needs help. The plan that the dragon comes up with is so creative. I loved this book and it is perfect for a 4-7 year old.

Duffy the Christmassy Dragon is the story of a king's pet dragon, Duffy, who must stay home on Christmas Eve while his beloved King visits a house too small and full of fragile things for such a large pet. While Duffy waits, Santa stops by looking for help.

This story is so charming, and the watercolour illustrations are beautiful! I could look at them all day, and they fit with the story so well. My daughter is almost three and just starting to have the patience for a book with this many words on one page, and I think she'll be ready to appreciate it at Christmas time. I look forward to re-experiencing this book with her then!

The inclusion of a recipe for Duffy's culinary invention, Podgepickle Stew, is an adorable finishing touch, too. Sounds far too spicy for me, but perfect for a dragon!

I would definitely pick up a copy of this book or any other Duffy story from this author-illustrator pair as gifts for any other kids I know and recommend it to primary grade teachers for their classrooms.

This beautifully illustrated children's book would make a great Christmas gift for any child, especially those aged 3-8 years old. The book is about a dragon called Duffy who helps Santa and his reindeer on Christmas Eve. My daughter and I really enjoyed this book, especially the rhyming words and illustrations. My daughter was a little bit scared of the dragon at the beginning of the book, but by the end, she liked him.

Many thanks to the author, publisher and netgalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
