Very refreshing thriller. I do love a thriller where none of the characters are actually likeable and so you have suspicions about EVERYONE. There were loads of twists that I didn’t see coming and it was an intriguing journey to discover the truth about Liam. I was bored in some places but the writing was excellent so it was worth it.

A good easy to read book with an interesting storyline. A new author for me and I want more. Well written and intriguing.

A decent page turner of a thriller that has a good few twists to keep you going.

At the start it felt a bit of a slow burner but it did pick up pace towards the end.

Unfortunately, the main character did feel a little underdeveloped at times and despite some well placed twists I still found the ending quite obvious.

3/5

A car accident, a missing husband, and mysterious notes - perfect combo for a thriller! However, I didn't feel this book delivered on its premise. I was disappointed that the book takes the usual unreliable narrator route of a woman who abuses drugs and alcohol. In this case, it's worse because the main character is a mental health professional but she doesn't behave in a way that is believable. I also thought it defeats the purpose of trying to make her a sympathetic, loving wife when she's busy flirting and sleeping with other men while supposedly mourning her husband. While I liked the way the culprit is revealed and how it relates to the everything that happened before, it takes too long to get there. The writing is easy to digest and there are plenty of twists to keep it interesting, but ultimately it's not very memorable.

This book was fine, it wasn't amazing but it was quick and easy to read. Suspenseful, twisty and kept me guessing.

There was nothing too outstanding about this book. It was gripping in the right places but also had parts that dragged. The characters were interesting but it was not memorable enough for me.

OMG!!! If you are a fan of thrillers, suspense, twists and dark thinking, then Someone's listening should be on your wishlist! It has everything I needed for October, starting with the eye-catching cover.

Even if the beginning was a bit slow, a jaw-dropping twist showed up in the picture and turned the situation 180°. I was so caught up in the story that I didn't know how to read faster. At one point I had 4 suspects but unfortunately no one was the real murderer.

I can't say I'm a fan of Faith Finley because she didn't act professional in some moments. But I liked that she didn't give up on her husband and she didn't get scared so easily. She made a few bad decisions, but I can understand why.

Thank you NetGalley and TitanBooks for the eArc in exchange for an honest review.

I loved the start of this book; it quickly drew me in and I was intrigued about the plot.
It kept me entertained despite the pace slowing down mid way through.
The ending was unexpected and provided a further twist to the story.
Overall, it was an enjoyable read but not one of my favourites this year.

I received a copy of this book to review from Netgalley. Thank you for the opportunity.
This book is intense and full of twists and turns. I would recommend clearing your schedule for the day because this book won't let you go once you're in its grasp.
It is pacey with sharp writing that keeps the reader engaged. The characters are OK and at times frustrating which could be attributed to the writer wanting to build suspense.
On the whole, a good book.

Compelling Suspense....
A successful radio host, a car crash, numerous secrets and then ....the notes. Hugely entertaining, edge of seat read with a well drawn, if unlikeable, cast of characters, an engaging plot and good use of tension. Compelling suspense.

Someone's Listening is a gripping, edge-of-your-seat thriller about a disgraced radio personality whose husband goes missing after a car accident, but the police claim he was never in the car at all. You’re not alone. Someone’s waiting. Someone’s watching…Someone’s listening. Dr Faith Finley has everything she’s ever wanted: she’s a renowned psychologist, a radio personality—host of the wildly popular “Someone’s Listening with Dr Faith Finley”—and a soon-to-be bestselling author. She’s young, beautiful, and married to the perfect man, Liam. Of course, Liam was at Faith’s book launch with her. But after her car crashes on the way home and she’s pulled from the wreckage, nobody can confirm that Liam was with her at the party. The police claim she was alone in the car, and they don’t believe her when she says otherwise. Perhaps that’s understandable, given the horrible thing Faith was accused of doing a few weeks ago.

And then the notes start arriving—the ones literally ripped from the pages of Faith’s own self-help book on leaving an abusive relationship. Ones like “Secure your new home. Consider new window and door locks, an alarm system, and steel doors…” Where is Liam? Is his disappearance connected to the scandal that ruined Faith’s life? Who is sending the notes? Faith’s very life will depend on finding the answers. This is a creepy, captivating and rather intriguing read which is both well written and pacy from the word go. The plot started to move in unexpected and thoroughly surprising directions and there was a plethora of twists, turns and good use of misdirection to lull you into a false sense of security. I thought I knew what was going on but soon realised I was miles off and that really doesn't happen often. It's just so cleverly written and refreshingly original.

None of the characters are particularly likeable which leads you to suspect each of them at different points in the novel and none of them appear to be trustworthy. With murder, revenge, suspicion and secrets, Glass slowly ratchets up the tension and concludes in an explosive, compulsive and shocking manner. An entertaining, page-turning and impressive debut. Many thanks to Titan Books for an ARC.

This is a good psychological thriller that has a number of twists and turns. The story begins quite slowly with our main protagonists husband disappearing but gets gradually darker and more sinister things start to happen. It’s difficult to review without spoilers but I didn’t predict the ending which was a nice surprise. I love unreliable narrators but have to say that I didn’t like our main character Faith who made some stupid decisions throughout the book.

Psychiatrist Faith Finley is a happily married woman who thrives to help other abused women through her book called Someone's Listening and also with her practice. She's now a bestselling author and a radio talk show host. And all is well with her loving husband Liam. Or so it seems like.

One night after the book launch party, Faith meets with an accident and even though Liam was in the car with her, he was never found. The police are not believing her story and they think Liam has just left her. Weeks turn to months and there's still no sign of Liam.

And then the threatening notes begin to appear. And things escalate pretty quickly from this point.

Wow, that's a lot of twists and turns in one book that I'm not sure I did really enjoy. Because in about 40% of the book, you'd feel like the whole story is over, and right then a new story within story begins and it's not what I'd expected at all. I thought I'd figured out who's the culprit but no, I was fooled. Never got any doubt on the character which was weird because I almost suspected every single character, including Faith. Faith deos some pretty stupid things herself, not that I blame a woman for trying. It's just that it makes her suspicious and unpleasant.

This was a compulsive popcorn read, with twists to keep the reader entertained.
