This was a really interesting and inspiring account of a terrible illness. Anthony actively researched alternative therapies and drugs and collaborated with people worldwide to help his medical teams treat his tumours.

This book is a must read for anyone facing medical, or any other kind of life crisis. It truly is a story of hope and inspiration under some of life's worst circumtances. It also made me realize that that this could be me or someone I love, althought I never thought it could until I read this book. If you think you have the worst life ever, or if you want to be inspired by someone under the worst possible conditions, please read this book. You won't be sorry.

NOTE: I would give this book a 4.5 star rating, but since that isn't possible, I gave it 4, reserving 5 for my all-time favorites.

Fifteen operations and many close calls, he shouldn’t still be alive. Yet defying all the odds, somehow he still is. In a candid and witty style, Anthony Wright offers a compelling story that will challenge your deepest notions about what you know about your health and how to tap into your body’s self-healing capacity.

I found this to be an enjoyable and fun read because, although Wright had every right to experience depression and did at times, he approached his potential catastrophes in a remarkably good-natured and humorous manner. His descriptions were entertaining. Whether it was the mermaid nurses who (possibly) love a good swim, the doctor who became angry and explosive before his eyes (but left no injuries), or the plastic surgeon ‘Pink Panther’ who fixed his face without a trace, I found myself feeling inspired, lighthearted, and even chuckling at times despite the obviously heavy subject matter.

Advocating a take charge mind-body approach, Wright also offers the reader some excellent tips to take control of their own health such as the importance of taking the first step, staying engaged in life, and having goals or wishes.

I would love to see this story be made into a movie, as I am certain it would attract a large audience. I highly recommend this story as an inspiring account for others with traumatic brain injuries (TBI), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), or those seeking inspiration for overcoming tremendous hardship.
