I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I am a huge fan of Angela Marson’s DI Stone, so I was really excited to get a review copy of this book.

The characters, the storyline, everything is just always so well done in these books. I like the little interjections of the characters personal lives because it makes me feel more connected to them. I will admit, I have a love/hate relationship with her chapters. They’re short, but they always leave you hanging so you need to keep going. I’ve gone past my bedtime several times while reading one of her books!

This book was full of twists and turns and an ending that I did not see come. It kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. I enjoyed every second of it.

I highly recommend this series to anyone that loves police thrillers. You will not be disappointed!

Deadly Cry by Angela Marsons From the first page to the last, an excellent mystery with an unexpected ending. The killings and the triggers are an interesting catalyst. Getting to know more about the recurring characters is a bonus. Kim is evolving and becoming more sympathetic toward people (just a tad). Byrant is Byrant and comes up with some great one liners. Stacie is improving her investigative skills. Jasper and Penn are working through their grief. At number thirteen, the series keeps getting better and better.

Thank you to the publisher, author, and NetGalley for the opportunity to preview the book.

Another excellent well written book from this author that held my interest throughout and kept me wanting to read more, this series just gets better in my opinion.

All the characters were good and believable and I can thoroughly recommend.

Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for giving me the opportunity to read this book.

Absolutely fantastic book!!

I have read all the Kim Stone titles and Angela never fails to keep me hooked. This book was no exception.

While it can be read as a stand alone, reading the series in order gives a great insight to the characters that make up the amazing team.

I thought I’d guess the ending of this one, but I was so far off the Mark!

A fantastic read, thank you for giving me the opportunity to review this title

When a woman’s body is found close to a busy shopping centre DI Kim Stone is surprised by the manner of her death. There is no blood or sign of struggle, the woman had her neck broken cleanly and seemingly dispassionately.
The young mother, Katrina, was shopping with her little girl who was found alone and crying in a shop nearby. With little forensic evidence Kim is struggling to find any leads.
Another young woman is found a few days later, her neck broken and her young son missing Kim is still looking for any connection between the two when she receives a note claiming to be from the killer begging her to stop him before he kills again.
The team are stretched and Kim is running out of time to find the young boy alive but things are escalating quickly. Could more people die before the killer is caught.
Kim Stone and her team are amazing characters who I have loved from the very first book.
The storyline in this was exceptional and I was genuinely shocked with the twist at the end.

Angela Marsons is one of my favorite authors and once again she did not disappoint with her latest DI Kim Stone novel DEATH SCORE.
It's always a source of amazement to me when I reach the end of a novel and I'm just left in a state of " wow, how the heck did she think up this twisted storyline?!" I love it!
As usual we are whisked along on this wild ride with DI Kim and her team Bryant, Penn and Stacey. The team is so diverse and have their own storyline inside our main. I like that, it humanizes them. It's easy for me to picture them in my head as I'm going along. There is never a dull moment. The team is on the hunt for a killer who is killing at a rapid pace, 3 bodies in a matter of 3 days. Kim and her Team are stumped.
Sounds like a simple plot, a few murders to solve, no biggie....BUT the twists and turns just keep coming and before you know it, you're done and ALWAYS wanting more!
This 13th installment in the series was fantastic and as ever I'm already waiting impatiently for the next.
Thank you to Netgalley, the Publisher Bookouture for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and author for this ARC.

Angela Marsons has done it again and wrote a fast paced, thrilling book with plenty of twists. I really enjoyed this from start to finish. It was written very well and had a great plot line. Kim and her team are so likeable and believable and I loved the two days I was back in Kim’s world again. I hadn’t a clue who the murderer was and the big reveal at the end absolutely floored me!!! I wasn’t expecting that. The last quarter of the book was a roller coaster read where the author began to bring all the separate threads in the story together and tie up loose ends. This series just goes from strength to strength and is one of my all time favourites. Another cracking read, and I eagerly await the next book

5 stars

Can`t believe this is the 13th outing for Kim Stone and her team and I loved it every bit as much as all the others.
I was hooked from the first page as Kim, Bryant, Stacey and Penn set about investigating the discovery of a young mothers body, her daughter is found abandoned in a department store.
Its obviously murder, her neck has been snapped.
It seems a senseless killing, what could be the motive?
Whilst the team ponder this a second body turns up a few days later. Exactly the same MO however this time the victims 6 year old son has been taken.
The pressure is now on Kim and her team to find him before its too late.
As the bodies mount up everything is pointing to a serial killer, but how is he/she choosing their victims?
Stacey is also looking into a cold case involving a rape, what she discovers will impact on their current case.
This is an addictive read with plenty of twists and surprises, an absolutely cracking read.
Can`t wait for the next one !
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the chance to read this as an ARC.

This series just keeps getting better.
This was another nail-biting, page-turner of a read and an excellent addition to what is a fantastic series.

Angela Masons is one of the best crime writers around. The further along the Kim Stone series the more I enjoy them. The characters are excellently written, so they seem so real, they also develop further within each book and never get stale. There is enough information about the characters’ backstory without it feeling as though there is a huge chunk of information missing. The storyline is compelling and complex, with no way to guess the final outcome. It was cleverly plotted and made an absorbing read. Roll on #14!

I would like to thank Netgalley and Bookouture for an advance copy of Deadly Cry, the thirteenth novel to feature DI Kim Stone of the West Midlands Police Force.

4 year old Mia Nock is found wandering in a shop wit no sign of her mother. A few hours later Kim is called out to a murder and it’s Mia’s mum, Katrina. Days later another young mum is found, killed in the same way. There seems to be no sense in the cold blooded murder of these two inoffensive women and Kim’s suspicion of there being more to it are confirmed when a letter arrives pleading for help.

I thoroughly enjoyed Deadly Cry which is another absorbing read in an absorbing series. I was hooked from the first chapter with Kim’s cynical take on diversity training - she nailed it and it made me laugh. The murder investigation is well plotted with a few twists thrown in to misdirect the reader. I guessed bits of it but had no idea about the well disguised perpetrator until the denouement and, even then, it was a surprise. I found the gradual winnowing of facts and assessment of known information compelling, so it was as fast as I could turn the pages.

The novel is told mostly from the investigative point of view, be it Kim or her team members and this suits my taste. There are, however, a few chapters from the unnamed killer’s perspective and they added nothing to the read for me, mostly exploring thoughts and moods which tend to be fairly haphazard. It is Kim Stone as a character that moves this series beyond run of the mill. She is tough, demanding and stubborn in her approach but she is aware of it and that makes her more likeable, if still outrageous at times. I love her relationship and dialogue with partner DS Bryant as he knows how to reign her in and their in-jokes have a natural feel.

Deadly Cry is a good read that I have no hesitation in recommending.

Angela Marsons does it again. Deadly Cry is the 13th book in the series following Kim Stone and her team.
Whilst this wasn’t my favourite in the series, the book did not disappoint with its fast pace and twists and turns that kept me hooked throughout.
My only complaint (if you can call it that) is that I wanted a bit more of the Stone/Keats ‘banter’.
Eagerly awaiting the next book in the series.
Thank you to NetGalley, Angela Marsons and Bookouture for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Another great story from Angela Marsons featuring her leading female detective Kim Stone. As always a gripping storyline, keeps the reader engrossed from beginning to end with the added attraction of Kim’s obsession for vintage motorcycles.

I am a big fan of this series and the latest book doesn't disappoint. Along with the main story the side plots are given equal importance. The team does a very good team work and all the members are given their due. The outbursts felt theatrical and unnecessary. The concept of graphology is not quite comfortable for me. The conclusion felt rushed and incomplete. 4.5 stars

This is such a great series. Each book has a different type of villain and this one is no exception. Kim Stone and Bryant arrive at a murder scene that shows no sign of violence. It is a clean kill, no blood, the woman had her neck broken. The woman’s young child was found unharmed at a nearby shop. Kim is struggling to come up with a motive for this one. The next day the same thing happens, a young mother has her neck cleanly broken, only this time her child has been taken. Again, there seems to be no motive.

Then Kim gets a letter, addressed to her from the killer. It seems he is almost looking to be caught. He appears reluctant to kill but says he cannot stop - only Kim can stop him! What does it mean? There is more murder and other baffling discoveries but I will leave you to discover these for yourself. There are other plot strands that are skillfully woven into the story. Everything is relevant!

Because Kim is under enormous pressure to catch a killer who leaves no clues (or does he?) she is particularly snarky. Her long suffering team put up with it good naturedly however. Stacey really comes into her own and makes some stunning breakthroughs. It won’t be long until she is promoted I’m sure. Penn and his younger, autistic brother, Jasper, are still struggling after the death of their mother. These people have become like family in the course of this series. My only negative is the ending! It seemed so convenient and out of left field but even so I give this 4. 5 stars, unfortunately rounded down. My thanks go to Netgalley, Bookouture and Angela Marsons for providing a copy. My opinions are my own.

I truly enjoy this series. I count down to every release of each new book. I have bought not just the ebooks but also paper copies for a close friend.

I love these characters- they are a family; I love their growth, just the right amount of attention.

Kim is forced to attend and participate on a security task force. The author of a tell all book about her affair with a married football player will be attending a book signing.
A young mother is brutally killed while her young daughter roams a store. Another young mother is brutally murdered- her son taken.
Stacey investigates a rape not pursued for conviction. After meeting with both victims and the convicted man of one, Stacey questions the entire case.
Marsons does an amazing job laying the groundwork- minimal back story, complex and I must know the answer storylines.
Great book - suspense, holy crap moments and shocking ending.

Thank you, Netgalley, for gifting me with q free ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The marvel that is Angela Marsons has done it again!!!

I could not wait to get my hands on the 13th outing of the Detective Kim Stone Series, I've pre ordered it even after being sent an ARC.

Who couldn't fall in love with this series and its amazingly written characters? Once again we see a little bit more of the lives of Stacey, Penn and Bryant and in this edition Kim brings the profiler/behaviourist Alison back in the fold.

Deadly Cry brings us another complicated, twisty case that has you pulled in every direction. The team dynamics are second to none and make for a totally addictive read.

This case seems to really test the team, no clues, no leads, no evidence... but things finally come together in an unexpected way and the ending was superb.

Two things that I loved about this one... Jasper (who couldnt love him), I absolutely adore the inclusion of characters in all of the Kim Stone series and the fact that Jasper is a character in his own right makes me smile! Secondly I really enjoyed the graphology aspects and information in this story, something that really interested me beforehand and was explained brilliantly.

Once again there is literally nothing negative I could say about this book (or any other in the series). I am a true fan/addict of this series and they just get better and better with each edition.

The hugest thanks to netgalley and Bookouture for the ARC.

Oh how I love a Detective Kim Stone novel! I found I instantly slotted myself back into the lives of Kim and the Team, such brilliant characters I've grown to love. A little girl is found alone in a shopping centre. Where is her mother? She's later found murdered nearby. A second murder follows quickly on its heels, what is the connection to two seemingly innocent women? And where is the second woman's son?

Detective Kim Stone and the Team are quickly on the case but are struggling with leads. Stacey is working on an unsolved case regarding rape and she feels something is amiss. Penn is mourning the loss of his mother and seems unable to reach his younger brother Jasper.

The killer reaches out to Kim by letter begging for her assistance in making it stop. What are the connections? What do the scratch marks represent? I love how everything is very cleverly interwoven. I must admit though I never guessed! Twisty and as unputdownable as ever! Highly recommend.

The 13th outing for DI Kim Stone and her team is a complicated case. A young mother is murdered whilst out with her little girl who is found wandering alone in a shopping centre. When something similar happens to another young mother, Kim realises she has a serial killer on her hands.
Meanwhile Stacey is investigating a cold case, the rape of a young woman. The suspected rapist is in prison for another crime but Stacey realises that something is not quite right after speaking to both victims and the accused, resolving to find out what happened in order to give the victim some closure.
Another winner in this excellent series. As well as enjoying the investigation I also loved catching up with all of my favourite characters on Kim’s team including Penn and his brother Jasper who are both mourning the death of their mother in different ways. Penn is finding it very difficult to help Jasper and it takes an old friend to point out the problem.
These books are very inclusive in an understated way- Jasper has special needs and several of the protagonists are in gay relationships- in fact Stacey is preparing for her wedding to her partner, Devon which is imminent. She only has 10 days to wait!
This is an enjoyable and entertaining read and I’m now eagerly looking forward to the next book in the series.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for my arc in exchange for an honest review.
