Nice book that delves into the world of dancing and then applying techniques and other tools learned from that journey to succeed in almost every aspect of life.
To be honest, the 'advice' is nothing new and nothing out-of-this-world, but where it helps here is the practical application in real life as it pertained to the author, and this helped a lot with illustrating the concept and how it worked (a lot of self-help books give concepts without a lot of application and examples, so this one delivered on that aspect).
However, possibly best be read as a book on the world of professional dancing and incidentally what that can teach you to navigate life

I enjoyed the biographical elements on her hard work and struggles, maybe less the later parts where she talks of being able to buy the Mulberry bags she used to dust and sell ... But the self-help bits were either stating the obvious (she even says at one point, "Another cliche that has shaped my life"!) or downright dangerous: "What's meant for you won't pass you by" and "Everything happens for a reason" are pushed but with an emphasis on the positive, of course. There's a lot on asking the universe for things and making sure you're specific on your mood boards, and exercises involving exhorting the reader to list ten things they want to achieve and how they will work towards them which all undermines good basic points about trying to remain reasonably positive and kind. Not really for me but good luck to her.

I enjoyed this inspirational book. I've enjoyed watching Camilla on Strictly, and it was good to learn more about her.

Thank you to NetGalley and to the publisher for allowing me to read in this in exchange for an honest review.

This book was OK.

I am not a Strictly fan, so wasn't reading it for the 'celebrity'' status of the author. As a fan of dancing I was interested in the dancing biography more than anything. This book however, was a combination of a memoir and self help which I thought was strange but as the author is now an NLP coach it's what she does.

The book essentially tells the story of how Dallerup started training in ballroom dancing as a small child and raised through the career ranks to get onto Strictly. Her early years made for an interesting read as she explains the hardship she had to go through to pat for classes and costumes.

However the majority of the book deals with her 'heartache' when her partner Brendan Cole left her for his own Strictly partner, Natasha Kaplinksky. What was particularly strange was that the author name drops everyone else, but refuses to name Natasha - but gives more than enough detail that it's not hard to identify her.

I didn't think the book was particularly well written and there was far too much on Brendan and how he broke her heart and the associated self-help to get over your own heartache.

I'm sure fans of Strictly will enjoy this book, but as a book in its own right it wasn't great - it was OK.

I really enjoyed this book, I didn’t really know a lot about Camilla, and I didn’t link Brendan Cole with her, even though I remember the story at the time. A very positive and uplifting book, which makes a change from some autobiographies. I originally picked this book because of the positivity of the title!

Thank you NetGalley for my complimentary copy in return for my honest review.

In this candid autobiography, former professional dancer and Strictly Come Dancing winner Camilla Sacre-Dallerup, shares the practical, motivational techniques she has used both personally and professionally to achieve success and happiness.Camilla found fame and heartbreak as a dancer on Strictly Come Dancing, winning her way into British hearts as one of the original cast of professional dancers on the BBC programme, and which culminated in winning the coveted Strictly trophy with actor Tom Chambers. In 2004, Strictly Come Dancing launched and was an instant phenomenon, with millions of viewers tuning in weekly. Its success changed Camilla's life. That same year, while she struggled to adjust to her newfound fame, Dallerup's relationship with her dance partner and fiancé Brendan Cole turned sour very publicly. Now, ten years after first appearing on our screens, Dallerup has made a new name for herself as a motivational speaker and life coach.

In Dream, Believe, Succeed Camilla speaks frankly and honestly about the relentless hard work, the subsequent burnout, and the process of finding love again with her husband and Hollyoaks actor Kevin Sacre. Camilla believes all of these experiences have strengthened her desire and determination, and have ultimately helped her to make her dreams a reality. Camilla hopes her words of inspiration can be used by anyone to help them achieve their dreams. This is an unflinchingly honest book, which is part dance memoir and part self-help guide, and I found it inspirational, heartfelt and feel many people will benefit from hearing exactly what she has to add to the conversation on staying mindful. I thoroughly enjoyed reading about her adventure to fulfil her dreams of becoming a professional dancer and everything this entailed. Sacre-Dallerup is without a doubt a fabulous role model for young girls everywhere.

An informative and guiding book. Lots of anecdotal tales detailing Camillas dance journey from the age of 2. How she has overcome obstacles and heartbreak to take the strictly come dancing glitter ball in 2008. Dance partners professionally and celebrities feature. Life lessons and meeting her husband, career changes and even change of country. A new chapter updates to the here and now as the book is a reissue but still very relevant today.

This book was so, so good! Although the author is new to me and I don’t know much about dancing, I’ve always loved to watch dance. Reading this author’s journey was phenomenal, but also the lessons she learned and tips she shares with other about real life. Because she is also a life coach as well as a professional ballroom dancer, she has so much inspiration in this book and knows exactly what it means to go after your dreams. I kept highlighting sentences to go back to, to savor, and to remember. Anyone who has a dream, anyone who has suffered setbacks, or anyone looking to read a memoir about a positive and successful dreamer would enjoy this book. As a dreamer myself who has suffered plenty of disappointments, this book offered many gems. The writing was great, the story interesting, and the author was down to earth. Really enjoyed this book and am eager to read more from this author.
