Talk about international I’m setting - this book will take you to places in the world not often brought together in the one story. I really enjoyed the way the plot was presented and how it travelled the world and took on different perspectives at the same time,

This is a strange, supernatural cum archaeological story that takes a while to get going. The early scene-setting events, especially those in Brazil, are bizarre and pretty gruesome - shamanistic, drug-induced visions, gory murder and the like. Once the characters have come together in the west of Ireland (more than half way through though) things improve. Essentially about greed releasing an evil and how three disparate people come together to vanquish said evil. I found Ed, the archaeologist, to be lazy, not motivated and certainly wouldn't offer him a job in any university, let alone a prestigious one; Maria supports her father until she comes into her own in evil-vanquishing and Nehu, her father, the most focused of the three even if, as a shaman and native Brazilian, he was rather out of place in the Burren. If you can persevere it turns into an ok read. Thanks to NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for an advance copy in exchange for my honest review

Great read. The author really draws the reader into the story. Will definitely read another book by this author. Such an intense story.

This book was a fantastic read. It may seem a little confusing at first with the location and stories jumping from one person/location to the next but stick with it, it will all come together once our characters arrive in the fantastically described Burren in Ireland, and I promise it's worth it! There's a lot of action, and creepy moments so the book never feels slow or like you're just waiting for the next exciting thing to happen to our trio of characters.

Well written with interesting well fleshed out characters, beautifully imagined landscapes and creepy atmosphere throughout. You'll run in to some tried and true horror tropes but Ross Griffin also includes some great original ideas and themes as well. I was so happy to see someone include The Burren in a horror story as it's a stunning location with lots of history and lore, it's a fantastic setting for unexplained occurrences that is often over looked.

This was my first book by the author and I look forward to more!

This book was so predictable but still extremely good for the genre that I don't read very often. But should be for other readers who would love the suspense of the book.

The Haunted Wind by Ross Griffin 4 Stars
Publisher: BooksGoSocial
ISBN: 9781913545505

"The Haunted Wind" begins with an attention-grabbing prologue, moves on to strange events in the Brazilian rainforest, and then, finally, to the Burren in Ireland. At the start, switching in action between events in Brazil and in Ed’s life were somewhat disconnected. However, when Ed, an archeology graduate, Neha, an indigenous tribesman, and Maria, a Brazilian anthropologist all end up in the Burren, the previous events are explained. It is a spooky and entertaining story with interesting characters and plenty of action. There are elements I have encountered in other horror stories, but many that are uniquely original.

I searched the Burren online. The pictures are amazing. It’s a place filled with history, legend and rare landscape, the perfect setting for supernatural events.

This was an eerie and entertaining tale. I thank NetGalley for alerting me to this book and author. I am looking forward to other novels as Ross Griffin’s career progresses.
