'The History of African and Caribbean Communities in Britain' is an absolutely phenomenal book that explores why people came to Britain, the experiences they had, the problems they encountered and the communities they created and developed that are such a big part of British society historically and in contemporary times. A really powerful book which is informative, engaging and insightful.

This book would be a useful addition to any junior library to start to help address an imbalance of historical perspective.

The book is very accessible for children setting out facts in small chunks detailing the history of African and Caribbean communities in Britain. There are several case studies contained in the book which would make good research projects. I like how this book normalises contributions to society whilst clearly showing social injustices.

This is a book I will definitely stock and promote to children to help give a more balanced view of historical events.
