The last story in the Wildfire Lake series gives us Chloe and Xavier’s story and it was so worth the wait. Love the characters chemistry that heats up to a delightful heat level when close proximity forces their feeling to come alive. I love the growth these two characters have as they learn to deal with heartbreak and fight their attraction that everyone around them sees. If you enjoy the small town feels with great characters than this is a must read for you.

I loved the first two books in this series and this was was just as good! I really liked Xavier. I thought he was such a book boyfriend. Chloe was a bit harder for me to connect with, really just because I’m not super spiritual.
Other than that, I thought it was a cute, enjoyable read. A great finish to a great series!

Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for the arc. All opinions are my own.

Xavier and Chloe are such a great couple. They have to work their way up in that happily ever after road because there’s a lot to overcome . From trust issues to believe that life is much more than the eye can met , this story was a good romance book overall.

Unfortunately, this was my first read in the last of a series. But I was not disappointed. Can definitely be read as a stand-alone. This book has me looking into the first two in the series. I will be looking for more from Skye Jordan. Her style of writing is fantastic!

I knew the day we met, Chloe Hart wasn't a woman you fuck and forget. She's the kind of women men dream about--hotter than sin and sweeter than sugar. Her last lover scarred her heart, and despite our wicked chemistry, she's got me locked in the friend zone.

She can try to ignore the heat between us, but I'm not going away. I transferred here to support my goddaughter through her teens after her father--my partner--was killed in the line of duty. And this kid is as good at finding trouble as Chloe is at sidelining me.

When Chloe's ex shows up for the lake resort's first big retreat, things shift on a dime. Without a second thought, I step in, publicly claiming her as mine.

It seems like a harmless lie in the moment, but when one lie creates another, which creates another, the truth unravels, threatening everything I've come to love.

I've really enjoyed this series, although this one wasn't my favorite. I didn't connect with the characters the way I did with the others but I did like them. Xavier has super swoon and I did like the way he pursued Chloe and how protective he was of her. Chloe was a character that I didn't really warn up to. I totally get where she's coming from but something about her just never settled well with me.

Great series and I'm was happy to read Skye Jordan again.

Swept Away is the third and last book in Skye Jordan’s Wildfire Lake series and it features Chloe, the yoga instructor/self help guru and Xavier, a local police officer who have had a nice friendship going on since Chloe moved to Wildfire Lake.

First off, I’ll put it out there that I liked both of these characters. I appreciated getting to know Chloe a bit better, she’s hasn’t been heavily featured in the other two books, but I really would have loved to know more about her childhood, teen and young adult years because that made her into the person she is today. I have enjoyed this series, but I’ve felt the character development in all the books have been lacking which has been a disappointment.

Xavier is a nice guy, he moved to town to be closer to his goddaughter, Piper, and her mother after his partner was killed. I may have missed this in earlier books and it wasn’t explained here, but I can’t figure out why Piper’s mother moved them to this small town but continued to work in Santa Barbara basically ditching her teenage daughter all the time?? Xavier has pursued Chloe since they first met over a year ago but she was still reeling from a bad breakup from a serial cheater and in a self imposed celibacy, so he settled for friendship and continued sexing up women all over town which again I couldn’t figure out when he was trying to get with Chloe and he knew she was trying to get over a cheater. I really liked Xavier, I think he was a stand up guy and judging how the women he’d been with were happy for him when they found out he was committed to Chloe proves to me he treated the women right, but still could he really not venture out of town for companionship or use his hand or something? I just felt like he was flaunting his player status all over town while trying to win a wounded woman’s heart.

Both Chloe and Xavier made some mistakes and when you add in the stress of Chloe’s ex arriving for a seminar at her and her other friend’s resort, I felt like their relationship wasn’t fully developed. I was happy they finally got together, I loved that Chloe began to realize she could open herself up to another relationship, I enjoyed seeing Xavier fall head over heels, but I needed to see a deeper connection between them especially given Chloe’s spirituality.

I enjoyed Swept Away and was very satisfied with the way this book and the series ended, the bond these three women share was special and it was nice to see them settled and happy.

A standalone HEA about a cop and a white lady yogi.

I think that more time was spent on Chloe and her recovery and reconnection with life and that took away from Xavier and his feelings. You're allowed to feel your feelings, and I think the way Chloe reacted to Xavier went against her teachings and preachings.

Could I have done without all of the praying and yoga and the half created retreat? Absolutely.

this is an absolute great way to end this trilogy even if i dont want it to be over. It worked out in its own way for everyone and i liked that each happily every after was special and unique. I didnt want the series to end but i am glad the lonnggg running romance finally found its way.

I love Skye Jordan's books! She is a versatile author and each series of books is very different. The twists and turns were beautifully written and kept my attention. I couldn't stop reading once I'd started! Skye writes strong characters and easy to connect with. Can't wait to see what's in store next for us readers!

I really enjoy Skye’s ability to tell a story and captivate her audience. I love when a author gives you so much more then just a romance

Chloe had come along way from the heartbreak that almost
Destroyed her. Now we get her sort! Xavier is a known playboy but he’s had his eye on Chloe since they met. How can anyone else compare? When her ex shows up and attempts to derail everything, of course it’s his time to shine.

Hot and steamy and explosive together. These two have their own demons to battle but will have one to go against together, can they survive?

It was good and I enjoyed it.

Another trip to Wildfire Lake!!

I absolutely loved Chloe and Xavier!!!

Swept Away was a perfect sweet friends to lovers romance that was fun to read and heartstring pulling at the same time! Both Z and Chloe had so much to learn about themselves and each other to be the best couple possible!!!

So glad I didn't miss out on this one! A must read part of a must read series.

This story was interesting to say the least. I had a lot of issues with it. Firstly, I did not like how Xavier seemed so creepy from the beginning. His presence was too intense and territorial. If he was truly her best friend, I feel like he would've respected her boundaries, despite their "chemistry". Also, he said so many questionable things throughout the book, my patience for him completely disappeared. Our other MC Chloe, was in my opinion, a pretty boring character. I didn't feel any sort of way about her. The storyline itself was entertaining, which is why I finished it. However, I did not care for the romance at all, and since this is a romance book.. it affected my scoring of it. As mentioned, the plot was interesting, so it makes sense why others have rated it highly. The romance just wasn't for me.

Swept Away is the final novel in Skye Jordan’s steamy, emotional contemporary romance series Wildfire Lake. In this one we finally get Xavier Wilde’s and Chloe Hart’s story, which is an emotionally intense, moving romance that also explores issues of belonging, self-esteem, and teen bullying and social acceptance.

Xavier moved to Wildfire Lake to look out for his partner’s daughter/his goddaughter after his partner’s death in the line of duty and found so much more. From the day he met Chloe, he has been crazy about her and the chemistry goes both ways. He’s determined to convince her to take a chance on being more than friends because he knows they can be so good together. Between keeping Piper safe and out of trouble and deepening his friendship with Chloe to move out of the friendzone, he has his hands full. Chloe believes she is finally in the right head space after learning to deal with the effects of childhood trauma and heartbreak from her cheating ex-boyfriend. She’s growing her business with her two best friends. The last thing she needs is to get involved with a player, even one she finds as appealing as Xavier. Over time they’ve become close friends and she wants to keep things that way to protect her heart and her life from the devastation she believes can only come from getting into a sexual/romantic relationship with Xavier.

However, when Chloe’s ex-boyfriend shows up as the host for the Lake Resort’s and Chloe’s, KT’s, and Laiyla’s first retreat with plans to win Chloe back, it looks like all Chloe’s progress may be about to go up in smoke. Xavier intervenes saying he’s her boyfriend, setting a chain of events in motion that results in Chloe and him spending even more time together in intimate situations that bring their fiery chemistry and their real relationship status into question. Somethings just about everyone has something to say about one way or another.

I love that the novel is alternately told in Xavier’s and Chloe’s viewpoints. It definitely serves this story’s telling. Skye’s description is vibrant and crisp, as is the character development, which brings the story to life effortlessly making the pages fly by from beginning to end. I love the description of their friendship, their interactions, and their evolving relationship. It reads true-to-life of a deep friendship between a woman and man who are attracted to each other, but also value each other as equals, as friends.

Xavier is irresistibly likeable. He is quite determined to win Chloe over, but he does respect her borders. He knows just when and how to push, and when to back off. And Chloe’s attitude, teasing, and flirtations that go just this far and no further seem to roll right off him, and he can react to them with humor. He knows she’s been hurt, but also that she’s stronger than she thinks she is and that she can move on with her life. For whatever reason, she just doesn’t know it yet. He is also very stubborn, set in his ways, and can be controlling and unyielding about things he feels strongly about.

Chloe is so frustrating for much of the novel because you feel for her and the trauma she’s experienced as a child/teen and then in her relationship with her ex, Bodhi. But at the same time, it’s like Xavier is supposed to be your best friend, so why do you treat him the way that you do or act as if you have so little respect for him? Why is he even your best friend if you believe that he would treat any woman, especially you the way that your ex treated you? These are questions that someone who is supposedly so in touch with her inner self and emotions should probably be asking herself, especially when she is in such conflict about her feelings for Xavier. It felt like she just could not see Xavier clearly and realize that he was not Bodhi. I feel like while she did make progress with getting past Bodhi, I’m not sure we see the admission that she really does see that Xavier is not another Bodhi, even if he’s a player. However, she did hold him accountable on how his interactions with his goddaughter, Piper, weren’t helpful for dealing with her teenage drama and issues and his sex life was inconsistent with his judgmental views of Piper’s mother. Just like a true friend would.

Swept Away deals with some intense subject matter at times, but it has a nice balance between seriousness and humor, flowing seamlessly between different tones with respect for the subject matter and the characters. Readers expecting a steamy flirty and fun romance will get so much more from this sweet, angsty, emotional, thoroughly entertaining steamy, friends-to-lover, fake dating, contemporary romance about, friendship, trust, forgiveness, growing up, and letting go of the past.

Chloe may seem to be the most evolved of the trio but beneath her calm and cool exterior she nurses a bruised heart and has built a wall of caution around it.

Xavier being the resident playboy, has pursued her from day one but she keeps friend zoning him so he becomes what she needs for now and bides his time, giving her the space to realise how good they’d be together.

When her ex turns out to be the headliner for the inaugural retreat at her new resort, she’s thrown off balance. Xavier steps in as her pretend boyfriend to give her confidence a much needed boost. But soon she comes to the conclusion that her trust issues are more her inability to let him in and less about him being a ladies man. Because if the way her treats her and makes her feel as a pretend boyfriend is even a fraction of what he would be like in a real relationship then her heart doesn’t stand a chance against him.

Swept Away by Skye Jordan
Wildfire Lake #3 ~ Conclusion

Sigh…Xavier…sigh…what a guy…book boyfriend divine…most of the time. I really liked him even though at first he seems to be rather hedonistic and a bit of a womanizer BUT as I got to know him…my, oh my! And, he was perfect with Chloe! I loved the way the series wrapped up and all three women met in the scary prologue ended up with their own happily ever afters.

What I liked:
* Xavier: I think I mentioned above what effect he had one me…and he seemed to have the same effect on all the women in town.
* Chloe: yoga instructor, life skills writer, new age woman, sought after, hurt in the past, trust issues, heart of gold, great friend, perfect for Xavier.
* Piper: really felt for her as she tried to adjust and adapt after her father’s death. She was lucky to have Chloe and Xavier in her corner.
* Seeing the couples from the previous books.
* The prologue – what a way for the three women to forge a lifelong friendship!
* The way feelings were dealt with in a positive way
* That there was communication between H/h
* Bodhi – seemed a bit of a creep for hurting Chloe but he grew on me. I can see him having a book of his own IF he has truly changed.
* The relationship between Xavier and Chloe
* All of it really except…

What I didn’t like:
* Being reminded of how vulnerable teens can be and how desperate they are to be loved and find a place to belong.

2.5 star.
I didn`t feel like the characters developed much, because at one moment Chloe seemed to dislike him and then suddenly she didn`t? They ended up too quickly in the bed and were all lovey dovey and Xavier was stressed about Piper but attacking Chloe for no reason was too harsh. But i liked some parts of it and in the book Chloe was ok. Piper i think, had most character development and i really liked her in the end.
