Firstly, I'd like to thank Netgalley and HQ for the eARC for an honest review. I also found the audiobook on Libby (the library app).

This is a Sci-fi Thriller that follows Thea, who struggles to sleep more than a few hours a night and it's taking over her life. She finds an AD for a sleep trial and it's her last chance to fix her problem. This is my first read from Louise Mumford - I remember seeing this book a lot when it first released. I thought the premise of the book was really interesting and thought the book had a good beginning that made me believe this would continue to be good.

Unfortunately it took a great idea and underdelivered. I didn't feel there was good character development for any of the characters, especially the main character who felt two dimensional which meant that I wasn't fully invested in the events surrounding the characters. I did like Vivian, Thea's Mother who had the most personality out of the whole lot. It ended up feeling a little cliché with the 'villains' of the story being typical 'mad scientists'.

The ending of the book was laughable. I haven't actually read a book that has done this before because of how ridiculous it is. I actually had to rewind the audiobook so that I completely understood that actually just happened. This book didn't have a big impact on me and it will be easily forgotten. I have seen other good reviews for this book so others may enjoy this book but this wasn't for me.

This sci-fi thriller follows a woman embarking on an insomnia experiment. Despite the intriguing premise, the book failed to captivate me. While the blurb held promise and the story began on a strong note, it veered off in a confusing direction. The writing style, though contrived, left much to be desired, but the character development was lacking. Overall, it failed to engage me. I extend my gratitude to Netgalley and the publishers for providing the advanced copy.

First book I have read by this author. I loved the premise and the writing was very evocative which added to the thrills and chills. Creepy at times but mostly a highly engaging and exciting read.

A clinical sleep trial on a secluded island in the middle of winter. It's revealed early on that the main character can't swim. So I felt I could semi predict where the story was going to go and how it would end. And I was pretty much right. A little too slow for most of the book. Took too long to get to the good stuff. Not many surprises, but a high body count, explosions, and a few cat and mouse chases made it a decent read.

Thank you to NetGalley and HQ for this eARC.

Fantastic read, which gets tenser and tenser as it develops. So gripping and difficult to put down. Can't wait to read more from the author.

I thought this was a great book!
Insomniac Thea is reaching the end of her tether, she just cannot continue to function with only an hours sleep each night.
In desperation she signs up to a sleep trial that promises to help her.
The story has all the right ingredients, creepy island, strange cult like people, and bad weather preventing anyone leaving.
I just couldn’t put this book down, thoroughly recommend it.

When insomniac, Thea, suffers a car accident she gets involved in a sleep trial but gets much more than she bargained for.
This was a decent read but I struggled to connect with the characters.
Thank you to netgalley for this arc in exchange for my honest review.

Thea can’t sleep, Thea never sleeps. What would someone do to get the thing they most desired? Morpheus claims to be able to help you sleep. Thea being so desperate signs up for the trial, I found this really engaging and an enjoyable read and found that I was able to finish it quickly.

Thea has trouble sleeping. Very real trouble sleeping and after crashing her car she hears an advert for a sleep trial which she thinks can help solve her problems.
I liked the initial idea of the story but Thea wasn’t a relatable character and I struggled to care what actually happened to her 😬 it had me gripped in the sense I wanted to find out what was going to happen next but I have to admit after around a third of the way through the book I had to force myself to finish

So…where to start! This book started off so well, and then, well, it just turned ridiculous!

Thea, the main character, is an insomniac who struggles to get a couple of hours sleep a night. After she causes a car accident due to lack of sleep she decides to take part in a sleep trial. The trail will last 3 months and take place on a remote island. Everything though is not as it seems.

Once on the island events start to take a drastic turn for the worse (shocking I know) and Thea will have to do everything she can to escape.

The book was action packed but all I could think of is that this a sounds like a terrible B movie, that doesn’t fully make sense, with terrible over the top villains that are more funny than scary. The book at such potential but sadly fell flat for me.

Thank you to Netgalley and HQ Digital for a copy of the book in return for an honest review

Sleepless by Louise Mumford had an unusual and intriguing storyline, but sadly I just couldn't get into this book and called it quits at 45%

I've gotten to 27% of this book, and I am not inspired to keep reading it at the moment, I will come back to it at a later stage.

Thea never sleeps a night theough so when she recieves a message regarding a sleep trial she signs up much to her activist mother's dissatisfaction. In doing so she gets more than she bargained for and all is not as it first aopears at the sleep clinic conveniently located on a remote island. Though an interesting premise this book wasn't for me, I felt it was quite slow and was left with unanswered questions.

This book was not what I expected but I enjoyed it. I love the isolated setting trope and the sinister island was perfect for this.

Following Thea who is taking part in what she thinks is a sleep study to cure her insomnia this book takes a turn for the dangerous and gruesome.

There was a lot of graphic depictions of violence in this book but the twist was unexpected and brilliant.
