I knew already "The Passenger" series before requesting this title - at least, I was familiar with the Italian publication.

Brazil was one of the titles that I was eager to read and received wonderful reviews in the Italian market. The e-arc for the UK publication did surpass the expectation. "The Passenger" has a unique format, in which it combines shot stories with opinion pieces, journal articles, and beautiful photography to deliver a full picture (a cultural picture, more than a geographical one) of the country. It's its own type of travel guide, that flows like a beautifully composed documentary. This is mixed with INCREDIBLE production values - if you can, grab a physical copy.

Sadly, the e-arc was challenging to read - the pictures were split, often disrupting the flow of the book or failing to deliver the visual concept beyond the publication (which is one of my favourite aspect of "The Passenger"). Additionally, I could read it only on my laptop, therefore I am not able to assess readability for any other device (such as on kindle, kobo, or phone) and I had to deal with a great amount of weirdly distributed text. Definitely not the best reading experience.

Football, Samba and Beaches are what most people think of when they think of Brazil, but this book helps show that there is much more to this endlessly fascinating country.
