A really good read about love, loss, hope and new beginnings. When Lisa is killed in a train crash her donated organs help four people. These 4 people help Alex and Connor try to cope with losing a wife and mother. It is an emotional read but it is both happy and sad.

What a beautiful story, had me in absolute tears at points but so beautifully written. Heartfelt, emotional and so so beautiful!

This is the story of Alex whose wife dies very suddenly leaving him and his little boy devastated. Lisa, Alex’s wife has chosen to donate her organs and we also meet the four recipients of her organs although we focus quite heavily on Molly. This is a story of love, loss, grief and gratitude.

I really enjoyed reading about the character of Molly. Although, she was a major character in the book I was always a bit disappointed when we went back to read Alex’s point of view. This story did make me cry at points throughout it. I thought that the author got across beautifully those small moments of grief that take you by surprise. There were also times that the story lost me a little bit as I felt it was getting a little bit too fanciful. I cannot fully explain what I mean by that without ruining the story. From right at the start of the book I thought that I knew exactly where the story was going but I was proved wrong. On the whole i really enjoyed the book.

A beautiful, poignant story about Lisa, a mother and wife taken too early and the recipients of her organs. This was a difficult read for me because it was a little too close to home but at the same time I sought some comfort from it. The characters were simply gorgeous and the story was beautifully told. Oh I do love getting stuck into a new read from Atkins, you just know you will experience every emotion known to man and this is no different. The plot description makes clear just how emotional this book is going to be and yet I find that I am never fully prepared. I was immediately engrossed in the read and invested in the characters which only heightened the impending agony I was soon to read. I had tears in my eyes most of the way through this and I would not have it any other way.

I think I have made clear how emotional this read is but I also want to stress how much hope and happiness is present as well. You really do go through every emotion reading this and it is breath-taking.

A real strength of this read are the characters, they are so realistic and so very likeable. Of course, this only makes it harder when they are going through pain and torment but it also means the highs are very high. I cannot single any character out, they are all beautifully written and crafted and they all came to hold a special place in my heart.

Having said how desperately sad this book is I also feel I need to add that it has a lot more hope and happiness in it than I was expecting and this was a very pleasant surprise. Atkins does not take the plot down the typical path you may expect and I loved that about this read. I do not want the expected plot all the time, it is nice to have a surprise. This plot is stunning and I adored the ending.

'A Sky Full of Stars' is another outstanding read from Atkins. Have your tissues ready as you cry tears of anguish and joy.

This book broke my heart! It’s definitely recommended by me, I found it impossible to put down, I needed to keep reading to know what was next. It’s a beautiful story and excellently written.

I’m a huge fan of Dani Atkins and I have to admit that when I started this book I was a bit disappointed - I had a feeling that it was just the same but different to her other books and was just going to be so predictable. However as I read on, I guess I became more attached to the characters and started to enjoy it. I’m pleased to say it wasn’t quite as predicable as I had thought it would be, but there were no great surprise moments like we had in Fractured. All in all a good nice read and I’m pleased to have had the opportunity to review it.

A wonderful well written story of love, loss and friendship. Heartbreaking but at the same time such an uplifting read, I would certainly recommend this book.

I am a huge fan of Dani Atkins’ books and a Sky Full of Stars is an absolutely beautiful story! It is told from the perspectives of Alex, in the third person and Molly, in the first person. We meet Alex on the morning of an Astronomy Fair in which his wife Lisa is to give a speech at. However, as she says goodbye to Alex and their young son Connor little does Alex know this will be last time he ever gets to speak to the woman who made his universe complete. In some extremely heartbreaking scenes to read we learn that there has been a train crash and Lisa was one of the people on board. As Alex reaches the hospital it soon becomes clear that Lisa has suffered catastrophic injuries which she will never wake up from. Overwhelmed and devastated by loss, Alex finds himself required to make a difficult choice regarding a wish of Lisa’s that he was never aware of until this day. A decision which in turn, brings two men and two women into Alex’s life, one of whom is Molly, whose lives are changed profoundly because of Lisa’s death. As Alex hears their stories he begins to wonder if perhaps the world isn’t as cruel and senseless as it seems. What if the future is written in the stars all along?

I adored this story and its cast of wonderful characters. It is a moving and emotional read but with so many uplifting and heart warming moments too. I really enjoyed being able to see the story from Alex and Molly’s perspective as their journeys are both so different but connected by the same fateful day. The writing throughout is so beautiful and I was captivated by all of the characters’ emotions, not just Alex and Molly’s, and the experiences they end up sharing together. The twists and turns and the journey that all of the characters go on had me captivated and I loved being able to wonder as I was reading if certain events and connections would be formed. I found the final chapter to be really moving and a perfect way to end an incredible story; the final sentences made me smile so much!

A Sky Full of Stars is a truly special, moving and breathtaking read with a cast of characters that will stay with you long after you turn the last page. Thank you so much Dani Atkins for capturing my heart with this wonderful story!

A Sky Full of Stars explores what happens when someone is lost from our lives suddenly and irreplaceably, the bonds that are too immense to quantify and how love lives on.
Of course the subject matter is sad and a sensitive one, but I felt it was handled delicately and with a true realism to the journey of grief and what little things change or get overlooked. There were some moments I really saw how each family has these little roles and things they do that would change forever of someone died, it isn't always the obvious loss that hurts the longest, but these micro moments that resurface time and time again.
It also explores the gift of organ donation and the subsequent journeys for those recipients too as their lives also change forever.
There were a few characters I'd have liked to have learned a little but more about such as Jamie, and Kyra, and the romance that ignites wasn't given enough flesh to evolve to me but I did however enjoy the book and the plot is thought provoking and emotive.

The story of a group of people brought together by tragic circumstances.
This book really tugged and my heartstrings. A story of loss and new beginnings with some unforgettable characters.

Everytime i finish a Dani Atkins book I'm left with disappointment, not with the book but with the fact that it is going to be so bloody long till I get to read the next one! As always, fabulous, amazing, wonderful, nobody does it quite like this! ✨

Another great insightful read from Dani Atkins. Alex's wife Lisa is critically injured in a train crash on her way to an Astronomy Fair. He makes the decision to give her organs for transplant & this begins an unusual friendship with the organ recipients. Great idea for a book & she tells of the turmoil both donor families & organ recipients go through so well. Well worth a read.

Love Dani Atkins books and this was no exception. Very emotional and tearful. Alex lost the love of his life Lisa which left him and his son Connor alone. Lisa had signed the organ donor register. Her heart, lungs and kidney were donated. The story tells what happens when they all get together

I was already a massive fan of Dani Atkins and her books always leave me with a book hangover! This book is definitely on my list of favourite ever books and feel like it is a book you could read again and again. By chapter 7, I was already in tears! Dani so cleverly makes you fall in love with each character individually and explores some really sensitive subjects. I empathised with each character and felt for them all at different points in the story. I absolutely loved the end and thought it was genius! I will definitely be recommending this to everyone.

I’d never read any of Dani Atkins’ books before but this one certainly won’t be the last. I was drawn to the book by the publishers description and I’m so glad I did. I think I’ve found a new favourite author! I don’t want to give too much of the plot away, but I was pulled into Alex’s life from the first page as his and his son’s life are ripped apart by the loss of Lisa in a tragic accident. There are such heartbreaking scenes in this book which I found difficult to read, especially in the hospital and Connor’s reaction to losing his mum, but on the whole this story is uplifting and full of hope that even after the rawest grief which drags in so many people, life has to move on.
Molly is well written and believable, as are the other three characters that are drawn together as the four strangest form new friendships with both Alex, Connor and each other. The ending is not one I was hoping for, but is satisfying never the less. So, grab the tissues and settle down for a heartbreaking yet beautiful read......

I read an advance copy of, A Sky Full of Stars, by Dani Atkins. I love books by Dani Atkins and this one is really great. When Lisa dies in a crash she leaves behind a young son and a grieving husband. I loved the characters in this book.

A Sky Full of Stars is a wonderful story, although dealing with the death of a loved one it’s tells how this enriched the lives of many other people.
Alex loses his wife,soulmate and mother of his young son in a tragic accident, she had previously opted in to be an organ donor in the event of her death.
Although this appears to be pretty miserable reading what we actually have here is a story of grief, survival and love.
This is uplifting, page turning and at times gut wrenching, but above all it is about life and how we deal with loss with the support and love of others. The characters are well thought out with some great humorous moments and depth that you would want these people in your life for support and friendship.
At the beginning of this book I despaired Of Alex and his sons loss, by the end I was smiling and immensely happy how everything had turned out. Thank you Dani Atkins, another winner and a great read.

Tragedy strikes and through this devastating accident Molly, Alex, Barbara, Jamie and Mac are brought together to form an unlikely friendship.

This book brings tears and joy in a book that is written from Molly and Alex’s point of view. Both the main characters were really relatable and likeable and was easy to picture them as one of your own friends or family members. It’s such a great book with a plethora of heartwarming moments but there were also plenty of places where I had to break out the tissues. I really loved this book, I hope to read more books by the author in the future.

This is a beautiful, well written story of love, loss and friendship. I quickly got involved in the story and was captivated by the characters and storyline. I was hooked. The story is full of warmth, difficult issues are dealt with in a sensitive manner, making for a poignant story which I really enjoyed.

With a fabulous cast fo characters who are well developed and really likeable. At times they really made me smile and at others, I held my breath hoping for the right outcome for them. I loved them all, but especially Alex and his struggle to deal with and make sense of what life has thrown at him and Molly who was so sweet and kind.

Although this story is at times sad, it is also the sweetest of tales and I did laugh at times too. I highly recommend this wonderful story.
