Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this book!

I loved this, I find it really interesting to see what truly goes on in the prison system, although I realise how much of a toll it takes on the staff inside, it becomes their whole life. I believe that Frake put her everything into the prison system and once she retired it was weird not having so much pressure on her shoulders.

I really enjoyed her book and would happily read another.

My Grandad used to work at Camphill prison on the Isle of Wight & I used to be fascinated with his tales of The Krays, The Yorkshire Ripper among others. He also had a full set of Wombles commissioned for me by the inmates & I'll always remember my Nan was worried what the hell they'd been stuffed with ๐Ÿ˜…

This was brilliant & I couldn't put it down, I love anything that's a gritty true story involving crime. I've read many books on Holloway, Wormwood & other prisons, so this was right up my street...although I can never look at 'spooning' in the same light again! ๐Ÿฅ„๐Ÿ‘

Ending with the honour of an M.B.E. this was an honest insight of one woman's 27 year service history in the prison service, with the likes of Moira Hindley, Rose West, Pete Doherty & Gladiator Shadow in her charge.

With an insight into her personal life, her new venture, her love of cake baking & her passion for animals.

โš ๏ธGraphic descriptions in places, so if you're of faint heart, this isn't the book for you.

Many thanks to Netgalley for my ARC in return for my honest review.
