The Impatient Dinosaur by Sarah Read, This book is so sweet I just had to purchase this for my nephew who just loves Dinosaurs.........and it was magical to see his face whilst opening his box of dinosaur goodies for his birthday. All he wanted to do is have me read this sweet book to him and his friends. Perfect birthday for him.......

"So, Why is waiting so hard for dinosaurs?

The Little Dino has no patience. He wants what he wants when he wants it. If his parents say, "in a minute," he reacts as if they have said "in a year".

This book was very colourful and sweet and it kept a birthday dinosaur party very entertained. All the children loved it and we ended up having so much fun with this book. It maybe little but it made 4 small children and my nephew very happy!

Thank you to NetGalley for an electronic copy to read and review.

This is a great rhyming book for kids that may have a difficult time regulating. Danny the dinosaur is impatient in a variety of situations. His parents talk him through each situation in a gentle and calming manner. I look forward to reading this with my own impatient 5 year old.

This is a great book that teaches kids that we are all impatient and it's okay to be upset, but you have to work through your anger and impatience in a healthy way.

Sadly the PDF received was corrupt and no other PDF or copy of this book was obtained.
It's too bad as this is clearly a super cute looking book. And I wish I knew why or what the dino baby was waiting for that caused his temper tantrum.

Danny the Dinosaur is so impatient. He gets frustrated and angry at having to wait. His mother tells him to breathe and that he has to wait. Then his birthday is approaching, he's impatient at first but waits until his big day. When he gets his surprise of family and friends, he realizes it was worth waiting for. It was the best birthday ever.

A great learning story for children about patience.

Danny the Dinosaur is learning another important social skill in this book. He has to learn that he can't have everything right when he wants it. Again, mom and dad are able to give him tools to help him learn to control his emotions.

Without a doubt, this was an easy 5 star review! I was given the opportunity to read this book by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Little Danny throws a tantrum whenever things don’t go in his favor. He gets angry when he doesn’t get his own way. His parents are very patient with him, they always know how to calm him down. A fun and educative book for young readers

I read The Impatient Dinosaur with my 3 and 5 year old nephews and we all loved it.
The story flowed well and it was beautifully illustrated.

I feel that maybe even older children can benefit from the message here in this book. The main topic of the book is about our emotions and feelings.

Thank you to NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for my ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is a lovely book, we read it with two children and they loved it too! What we loved most about this book that's it was teaching our children to be patient through one of their fave animal characters. The layout of this book is a mix and it's very easy, they were able to flick through, there was lots of discussion between pictures and writing and and it's made it easy for the children ask questions.

There are some parts in this book, I really liked, especially how Danny the dinosaur calls on his thoughts and feelings as far as impatience makes him feel, I really loved that he was able to connect with that. There are lots of parts like this in the book and I love that as they're great ways of teaching children how to recognise their feelings and also deal with them.

I really love the writing, how it explains so easily the importance of being patient and the consequences of impatience, a good lesson for all kids think. I am really loving this author and will be looking for more of her work in the future.

The rhyming was a little clunky but the message was sound. Little ones don’t always have the most patience. It is a good book for kids that “just can’t wait”. It also isn’t the best message that if you have patience, you will get a great surprise but it was a fun book with enjoyable illustrations.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the DRC.

This book is written in a way that is very relatable for young children as they all face frustrating situations that require them to develop patience. The author captures the voice of the child character and the parents well. I would have appreciated seeing something noted that encouraged also intrinsic motivation of children to be patient and not always expecting to receive rewards for being patient.

I loved this book! I have my only little impatient dinosaur at home, and as we read through the book it brought up new "names" for emotions he feels and helped him discover ways to explain them himself.
The different scenarios throughout show varied ways to distract, or reward patience, which is great for children to learn.
The illustrations were very well done, I love this artists style and have read another book by this author & illustrator.
I can't fault it, we enjoyed it and it would be great for teaching children at home to understand patience.

Danny the Dinosaur is lacking patience. It shows him with his parents in a bunch of different scenarios that require waiting. I wish the book had been more specific about those various situations, but instead a good chunk was spent on Danny's mom telling him he needed to be patient waiting on a birthday surprise, and then that reveal. I was hoping for some instances to encourage kids to be more patient while waiting in everyday scenarios.
