"The Anxious Monster" was a cute book. This book is a great way to talk about feeling anxious and how it's okay to feel that way sometimes. The illustrations were great and my four year old really enjoyed this one.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for a copy in exchange for an honest review.

I was unable to open the book on the app. I would love to be able to read the book, but cannot review as I was unable to read it.

This short book was so cute and I think it would be great to read together with small children. The language is easy and if they are a bit older, they can even read it themselves. It's a good way to talk about feeling anxious and how that is a perfectly fine thing to feel. I think this book is a good introduction to those feelings for kids.

I was unable to read and enjoy this book with the children to its full potential due to the download not being complete (not all the text downloaded on each page!) so This delayed the flow of the story as I was having to stop and guess what words were missing

However, apart from the download issue, I felt this book has - great message! Having a child who worries immensely, I felt this book was brilliant in explaining to young children different ways that anxiety can be handled/overcome and how many people of all ages suffer with anxiety and that they are not alone!!

I picked up this book for my son, who is a little too young for the book at this time as he is only 11 months old but I know it will come in handy later when he is older. The books is filled with colorful illustrations. When Sarah Read is describing the anxious monster, it reminded me of the way that I describe my son to others when talking about what milestone progress he has made and what he likes to do.

Sarah Read takes the reader through a few different events where the monster is feeling anxious and each of these events are very relatable even to an adult. Some of those events are speaking in front of your classroom for a presentation and going to the doctors for a regular check-up.

Sarah walks the readers through relaxation techniques to use when you are feeling anxious. These techniques include deep breathing and taking a walk.

Rating: 5 out of 5. The book was easy to read and follow. It was relatable and the techniques are easy to implement for the target age of 3-5.

I read this book with my daughter. She has an outgoing personality but clams up around new people. The colorful pictures really helped her engage. I like that this book opened up a discussion about anxiety. I can see the lesson learned from this book will help her express her feelings in the future.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an electronic copy to read and review.

This was a cute book that introduces the concept of anxiety to kids through Little monster. I really like that it talks about some of the physical symptoms, such as a stomach ache, and that it normalizes anxiety. This will be a good book for young kids who may worry a lot, and even friends and siblings of a child who worries.

This is a great title to help kids better understand what they're feeling and how to deal with anxieties. It's presented in an approachable and engaging way for little ones and I feel it's something will help develop a better EQ as they mature. Many thanks to BooksGoSocial and NetGalley for the advance copy.

The Anxious Monster is a sweet story about a young monster experiencing anxiety in school. The illustrations are cute and vibrant. I appreciated that the mom shared solid coping strategies such as deep breathing, taking a walk, listening to music and positive self-talk. This story is age appropriate and useful for families and students during these unusual times. Thank you Sarah Read and NetGalley for the ARC of this title for review.

A cute book with practical advice kids can add to their toolbox for dealing with anxiety. It’s a good starting point for talking about what makes a child nervous or afraid, and a great way to open up dialogue between a parent and a child.

The illustrations in this book are absolutely adorable, and the plot is very relatable for young readers/listeners. As the little monster goes about his life, he encounters normal, but anxiety-inducing, events. The resolution is not simple but important for young readers to internalize: the little monster asked his family for help and worked on ways to overcome his anxiety. I do wish that less time was spent explaining the anxiety-inducing events if there was not adequate time in the book to show the monster overcoming his anxiety to handle each one. Still, this is a quality addition to social-emotional learning collections.

I thought that this book was great!

There are so many ways that little children feel worried, scared or anxious so this can be used to show them that they are not alone and it can also help parents to find out what is troubling them by discussing the story and reading it with them to get them to tell them or any worries that they may have.

It is an easy book to read and follow and the illustrations were great too – it is 4 stars from me for this one – highly recommended!

The file makes some of the text of the story unreadable. Cannot review. Will be willing to review if the file is fixed.

I was looking forward to reading this book with my daughter but unfortunately you can only see half of the pages via the netgalley shelf, and when I tried to read via my kindle it just froze and wouldn't let me do anything
Looks like a great childrens book though and would keep a child's attention throughout going by the illustrations alone.

Tip: this book does not show up well on NetGalley’s shelf app. The other book posted in this series about patience does. This one gets cut off and you can’t see half the pages. If this can be fixed, I’m sure readers can leave more accurate reviews! Sorry about this.
