Samantha Shannon is my favourite author and to have been able to read the arc of the mask falling honestly made my year
I’ve been following Paige’s journey for years and every single time a new part of her story comes around I can’t hold it in and end up reading the book in a few hours.
Samantha once again didn’t disappoint. I am waiting with so much eagerness for the next installment and hoping that Paige will make the right decisions and keep being a boss ass b*tch.
It’s the right amount of life lessons and fight scenes and romance for any fan of dystopian fantasy. 5/5

Woah, What an addition to an already great series. The Mask Falling managed to round out the world and characters in ways I didn’t think was possible.

This book was an emotional roller-coaster – but I enjoyed it. The characters are some of the most realistic I’ve read in any fantasy series and I’m still as addicted to the dynamics as I have been in previous books. At this point I don’t know how I feel about any of them but I’m enjoying the disquiet in my brain.

There is so much I want to say but so many things I cant say for fear of ruining the previous books. But I will say this. I think it was my favourite so far and that every page left me reeling. I finished it in a state of shock and in need for therapy.

All this said, I can’t recommend the series enough.

The fourth installment of Samantha Shannon's 'The Bone Season' series did not fail to be as exhilarating and exiting as the first three titles.... Paige is now in Paris, along with Arcturus, trying to recruit help from her fellow citizens of the underworld, literally - Paige finds herself in the Catacombs of Paris, as well as the Palace of Versailles, and plenty of other well known locations around the city.

Highly recommend this series!

An absolutely incredible instalment in the Bone Season saga, I was gripped from the first page. Shannon has proven time and time again that she is a force to be reckoned with, and created a complex and addictive world for readers to immerse themselves in. I cannot wait for the fifth book.

The Mask Falling is the thrilling, much-awaited new installment of The Bone Season series. After the dire events in The Song Rising, Paige and Warden have fled to Paris to seek allies in the local clairvoyant syndicate.

It's been a while since I read the previous books, so it took me a bit of time to remember what had happened and really get into this book. Plotwise, the first half of this story has a more moderate pace, focusing more on characters and character-relationships, which will be crucial to consolidate your belief or disbelief in what happens later on in the story. And what an eventful second half of the story! This book is full of fast-paced action, plot twists and trickery, and Samantha Shannon will keep you guessing at all times.

I quite like Paige, I always have, and it's remarkable how far she's come, but it's also quite obvious she's making some bad choices too. She's become more desperate and reckless. All I can say is Samantha Shannon does character development well, and she isn't afraid to make her characters suffer, but I'm worried this will end badly for Paige...

All the while I was reading this book I was gripped by this detailed, beautiful writing style and intricate storyline. Although I wasn't a huge fan of The Song Rising (and was even convinced I wouldn't continue this story), I really enjoyed The Mask Falling and I'm interested to see what will happen next

Samantha Shannon knows how to craft a story! Full of twists, turmoil and tension, THE MASK FALLING will leave you gasping and probably swearing at the cliffhanger.

This is Shannon's fourth book in the Bone Season series and it does not disappoint.
Paige Mahoney - has escaped the jaws of death once again and is embroiled in a bitter battle with Scion.

What I liked about this book is that it covered PTSD and we read about Paige's struggles to escape her experiences, this gives the reader an insight into Paige's life that perhaps makes her more real.
It is incredibly fast-paced, has lots of twists and turns, and is completely absorbing.
It reads differently to previous Shannon novels and did feel a little bit hard to initially get into but once I was wrapped up in its pages - there was no turning back until the final sentence.

I loved how characters begin to unfold and we see how Paige evolves into Black Moth.

What a brilliant read!

The Bone Season series by Samantha Shannon just keeps getting better and better with each instalment, and so The Mask Falling was a five star read for me.

Her writing is a sheer joy to read, her characterisations are bold, and this book simply left me feeling so many things. The revelations and plot twists genuinely left me reeling, like I'd been punched in the gut - and that isn't something I feel often while reading!

I honestly don't know how much I can say without either spoiling things from the previous books or just gushing about my love for this series and for Samantha Shannon as a writer, but if you've been enjoying the Bone Season series - this is an absolute must-read.

Continuing the saga of Paige Mahoney and the Scion. As Paige defies death again, she continues to try and break Scion’s hold.
Once again a fabulous read and what an ending. I just can’t wait for the next book now.

This was easily the best installment in an already phenomenal series. How Samantha Shannon manages to outdo herself so thoroughly with each book when her standard of quality has always been so high is mind bending.

The author did irreparable damage to my heart and soul with this one and I can think of no higher compliment to give a book!

I'm shocked. yes. i did expect it, but not at this level. I adore this series, and makes me laugh the fact that i kept pushing the first book down my tbr. now it's one of my favorite series. now i have only one question. Where's the next book!

I really enjoyed this. The world of Paris, the inclusion of Paige fighting her demons and not just pretending she's okay (cause that's how it goes in the real world!), the love, the friendship, the kickass scenes of mayhem! But that cliff-hanger is god awful!

Another cracking title from Samantha Shannon. She really is one of the Queens of fantasy writing and I will always recommend her books to customers.

Highly recommend this book as part of the Bone Season series, this book took twists and turns I never expected. I won’t say very much as this is book four in the series and I don’t want to spoil any part of the book.

The writing for me was absolutely amazing, which I expect nothing less from Samantha Shannon

I loved the fourth installment in the bones season series. Shannon's writing was as beautiful as ever and i loved how the story progressed and all the drama and action that happened in this. Paige has really developed since book 1 and this version of Paige has grown with her experiences and trauma into a truly remarkable character. I can't wait for the next release as the final section was done so well!

This is the sequel I have been waiting for, there has been so many months weeks and days that I wondered what happened next. This book was an intricately portrayed sequel. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, If you are a massive The Bone Season fan then make sure to read up until this point!

It always takes me around 100-200 to properly get into the bone season books but once I got there, it did not disappoint in the slightest.

I think this is my favourite installment so far, the development and complexity in this one was next to none.
The world building is flawless, the plot was executed perfectly. I loved the character and relationship development in this one.
If you love twists and turns you wont be disappointed - it really makes you question what to believe and suddenly everything you thought you knew comes into question. Its a real emotional rollercoaster, it broke my heart, mended it, then broke it all over again.

The first quarter of this is a little slow, it's definitely a slow build but it does not disappointed. My only complaint is that Paige as a character can be a little annoying soemtimes, often putting herself and others into danger. Other than that, perfect.
As always we are left on a major cliffhanger... My only question is when is the next one out?!!
