Thank you to Netgalley and HQ for an early copy of this book in return for an honest review.

I have to admit that Anna Bell has become one of those authors whose books I pick up without reading the blurb so I was baffled when I started the book and our heroine Ellie is happily married to Max and they are expecting their 2nd child!

However one day out of the blue Max loses his memory and forgets about the last 5 years of his and their lives - he calls Ellie Spider (an annoying school nickname), he doesn't know he's married or a Dad, or that his parents have separated.

The book is Ellie's journey through this. We meet Max's family, Ellie's antenatal group (loved Anneka!) as well as Max and Ellie's daughter Sasha.

This book is funny, emotional and very well written, everything I have come to expect from an Anna Bell novel. 5 stars from me and a definite recommendation when it is released.

A quick, easy and heartwarming read that I couldn’t put down! Enjoyable from start to end, I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a light read.

As with other books by this author, this one doesn’t disappoint.

Happily married to Max with a young daughter and another baby on the way, Ellie is living her perfect life. That is until Max forgets the last five years of his life when he loses his memory.
Max only remembers Ellie as the geeky best friend of his sister and has trouble believing that he is married with a family. Can Ellie rekindle that spark with Max and make him fall in love with her for a second time?

An excellent well written story with a great cast of characters. An enjoyable tale with nice touches of humour which I would recommend.

As with many readers on NetGalley, I have a few favourite authors. Authors whose books are pretty much guaranteed to be enjoyable. Anna Bell is one of those writers for me; so when I saw The Man I Didn’t Marry available for request, I jumped at the chance to read an advanced copy.

The book starts with Ellie and Max several years ago accidentally meeting in a club and getting together. The book then speedily fast-forwards to them as a married couple with a toddler and a baby in the way. This threw me - this is the point most books would use the epilogue for. The happily ever after ending?

What comes next is a brilliant story of how Max loses his memory and doesn’t remember his current life. He can’t remember anything from the last four years, including his wife and child. There are subplots and background stories that make this book so engaging and unputdownable.

I loved Ellie’s character. Max is the perfect balance of confident, loving and realistic. Supporting characters were great (I especially liked Helen!!)

Thank you NetGalley and publisher for my advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review 📚

I really enjoyed this book. It follows the story of Ellie, who is seven months pregnant with her second child, and her husband Max, who heads off for a work appointment on a Saturday morning, and turns up at his mum’s house after developing amnesia and forgetting the last five years of his life- meaning that he forgets falling in love, marrying and everything since.

The book delivered bucket loads of laughs, and ultra sweet romance. Great fun and good for curling up with for some good old fashioned escapism. Rom com at its best.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I am a big fan of Anna Bell, having read all the books she has written under this name, and this new book didn’t disappoint. It was a lovely easy read that I read in a day. It was very entertaining with characters you warm to. The big reveal of the husbands secret was a bit of a let down - a bit of cliched lazy plotting there in my opinion - but otherwise a great read that I would definitely recommend to fans of the genre.

The Man I Didn't Marry is a really interesting story and I've not come across one covering the subject of memory loss before.

It's quite thought-provoking and certainly shows us that we shouldn't take each other for granted and that we need to continuously put effort into relationships, not just marriage. I enjoyed all the characters, from family members to the antenatal group of mums.

As usual with Anna Bell books there are lots of funny moments too. Her books are easy to read, but hard to put down. I love that they are set in real towns rather than fictional ones, especially as I know exactly where they all are. Slightly disappointed that there isn't a coffee van selling nice cakes at Fleet Pond though. 😉

Another good read that I'm happy to recommend.

I was hooked from the first page...... any book that starts with this first sentence - ‘ When deciding to go to Comic Con this year dressed as Wonder Woman, with a very short skirt and tiny corseted top, I had not factored in the possibility that we would end up in a meat market of a club afterwards’ - is a winner as far as I’m concerned! The story picks you up and carries you through until it spits you out at the end, feeling like you’ve lived through an emotional rollercoaster......
The book centres around Ellie and Max who meet again in a club. Ellie used to be Max’s younger sisters best friend at school, and Ellie had a massive crush on Max. After all these years they finally get together, get married and have a daughter and a baby on the way. All seems perfect until one day, out of the blue, Max loses his memory of the last five years. He has no idea that he and Ellie are married and have a child, so Ellie decides that they need to fall in love with each other all over again......but it turns out that life isn’t that simple.
A fabulous, emotional and funny page turner. Well written with believable characters - I loved both Ellie and Max, as well as the supporting cast of family and Ellie’s new ‘mothers to be’ friends. I read it in one day - I wanted to know how their story ended and felt emotionally invested in their rather bumpy journey.

Another absolutely fantastic read by a truly fabulous author. I haven't been able to put this one down. I'd even go as far as saying that this is my new favourite.
This is a wonderful book, with a fabulous group of characters. This is definitely one which has made me laugh out loud on more than one occasion.
This is completely unique to any of Anna's previous books and anything I've read before. I have found this completely impossible to put down.
I absolutely adore this author and having read all of the previous books, I can safely say that this is my new favourite. I absolutely need more after reading this one.
A definite five star read which I highly recommend. This is a book which I absolutely think is deserving of all the stars.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
