This sample is incredibly intriguing and I can’t wait to read the rest of it!
I found the writing style a little difficult to get along with, but the content is great!
I love how time jumps around constantly so you’re given context and are introduced to important characters from the get-go. I liked how we already have an idea of the sort of relationships these characters have with one another and I can’t wait to see how these build up as the story progresses.

This was an intriguing start with an unusual writing style. The novel skips around in time a bit, which is an interesting way of setting the scene and giving us background info on Benson and Mike. I'm curious to read on and find out more about the characters and see where the storyline goes.

The sampler had the perfect length to give the readers a taste of the story, get them involved with it and the characters. Bryan Washington manages to capture the reader's attention with his writing style and intrigant characters. I am really interested in discovering more about Mitsuko and knowing how the story continues.

The sampler gives a great insight into the lives of the two main characters.
It made me eager to read more and see how the story develops.
It was quite tricky to follow the flashbacks and the different points of view but I would definitely want to see how the different dynamics continue to evolve.

I had my issues with that sample. I hate it when there's no use of signs of literal speech. It makes reading very exhausting. Also - but I presume this was due to it being a sample - the formation was off.
As for the content... This book and I didn't get along well. I don't like constant time jumps and this book had quite a few of them. It grieves me to rate a book, especially a sample, this low but I can't give a higher rating. The lack of signs of literal speech was exceptionally bothering me.
Also, I know literally nothing about the characters, although they were well introduced. I simply couldn't remember a single thing, only that Mike's mother wasn't overly fond of the narrator and she was the only character I remember at least a bit and actually liked. I am sorry, but this book isn't for me.
