Best book I've read this year! A beautiful story that I couldn't put down! Had me hooked from start to finish! I hope the author will make a follow-up book. I felt like it ended with a cliffhanger! I'd love to know more... did Elliott and Mary get married? What happens next!!! Lol

Cute, although very predictable. Worthwhile, but not groundbreaking. Overall I liked it but I'm not compelled to read the author's past works. Solid three stars.

In this book we meet Abby a 13 year old girl who witnesses some puppies be dumped into the water, Abby decides to save them but soon realises she has no where to keep said 7 puppies, so she takes them up into the hills to an abandoned hunting cabin where she can keep them safe, this is where she comes across Elliot owner of said cabin who has came back after many years after the loss of his wife, at first he doesn't want anything to do with her or the puppies but then grows to love them and heals them both in ways that neither expected.

i'm really not sure how I felt about this book, I found it very slow and long winded at time and found my interest decreasing many times , we had pages and pages of not very much happening, we basically got to the half way point before we got anything other than our two main characters caring for these puppies, I knew the romance was going to happen between Elliot and Mary and although Mary's husband is horrible he just didn't seem like a well fleshed out character, he was just horrible and that's all he was and because of this it made the plot line with the romance towards the end just a bit silly. Saying that most of the character where a bit two dimensional. I did enjoy the over all plot of this book and feel if the writing had been a little better and it had been a little bit faster paced and less manadring I could have gotten full emerged in this book, don't think I will be picking up another one by this author saldy.

A story that begins with a thirteen-year-old girl finding a group of puppies which brings her happiness in a life that is not filled with any. Abby the teen meets Elliot a widow with the puppies and each of them up the other heal through human and animal kindness. Abby wishes her mother would leave their mean and spiteful father and husband. When Abby’s father says that they will be moving hundreds of miles away now is Abby’s chance to help her mother see that there kind be happiness somewhere else. A good story.

Such a lovely story that touched my heart. Puppies/dogs can truly lift you from sadness to joy. You are never alone when you have a canine freind. Catherine Ryan Hyde writes comfort books. I love reading her books when I just need something simple and sweet to read. Add in puppies and I am a sucker!

I absolutely adored this book. I am a huge CRH fangirl and this book did not disappoint in any way, shape, or form. 5 stars as always and I remain a dedicated fan. I can't wait to read her next one already!

In typical Catherine Ryan Hyde fashion, you will meet characters who are so real that you feel you know them. You will also receive a life lesson through difficult situations, relationships, and caring. While this will tug at your heart, you will also find yourself smiling. Though you will be exposed to animal cruelty and domestic abuse (emotional and physical intimidation). There are so many more aspects that make this a warm fuzzy read.

Being a total animal lover I really enjoyed ready this book. Abby a child of 13 years old is the main character and an absolutely delight. I find after reading a mystery thriller I like to change to a lighter read Catherine Ryan Hyde has never disappointed me with any of her books.

Seven Perfect Things is a wonderful book with great characters and a good story. It has a lot of heart and made me laugh and cry. I absolutely love dogs and the descriptions of them and what they were doing was spot on. This story will stay with me for a long time.

One thing I always love and can count on from Catherine Ryan Hyde is that the sole focus of the story will not be on romance. And I find that to be really rare in Women’s Fictions book these days. Like so many people (even authors) have the genre of Women’s Fiction mixed up with Romance.. So I certainly love that about this author…and about this book.
She also writes with such wisdom. You can just feel it ooze from the lines on the page.
Seven Perfect Things was no different.
I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about a book to do with puppies. I mean, are we talking “My Dog Skip” here or “Marley and Me.” Well, what I loved was that the puppies were a big part of the story without being main characters like those aforementioned books. And also that they didn’t take over the whole plot line.
The story follows a sweet young girl whose father is just so mean and crusty it’s a wonder she is turning out so sweet. We also follow her mother, Mary, through the story. And the dearest man Elliott. I wanted to meet Elliott and know Elliott. (Not like a book boyfriend or anything, but definitely like a serious friend.) Hs character was just such a breath of fresh air. A truly good person, just going through a devastating time. But in that time, he learns how to heal by helping others.
That’s the main point of the book, really, is the process of human healing through helping. That if we can look outside of ourselves in our hardest moments, that there is not only good on the other side, but true healing and joy.
Of course, sometimes it felt a little cheesy while I was reading it. But looking back on it, I really enjoyed the story. Not Hallmark movie cheesy or formulaic. But the heartfeltness of a Hallmark. If that makes sense.

This is a sweet, feel good book about a girl, the seven puppies she rescued when they were dumped in a river, the man whose cabin and garage she "borrowed" to provide the puppies with a home, and her dysfunctional family.

The "Seven Perfect Things" in the title, of course refers to the seven puppies. Characters in the book range from the man who tried to drown the puppies, the man who allowed the puppies to stay in his garage, the abusive father and husband of the young girl and her mother who demanded things be done his way. I enjoyed the book, and cheered when the girl and her mother developed backbones and defied the wishes of the domineering father and husband

A sweet, mostly light read. I enjoyed this book by Hyde as I have others, but I definitely felt like the first two-thirds of the book could have been a bit more condensed. With that said, I will definitely return to another book by Hyde.

I love this author's writing and when I read this synopsis I knew I would love the book and I wasn't wrong.

The friendship story between Abby, Elliot and Mary touched my heart. The way they get closer thanks to the puppies, the way each one gains the other's trust.

Catherine Ryan Hyde has a way of writing that always makes me enter the story and feel the pain of the characters, makes me root for their cures and want to have them close to me always.

The puppies are so cute and striking and I loved Abby's tip so much on how to go about getting together with them to feel happy.

The ending left my heart light and full of hope.

Thirteen year old Abby Hubble has a bad home life. Her father makes life miserable for her and her mother. Abby sees someone abandon a litter of puppies into a river. Diving into the water to rescue all seven puppies. She knows she wouldn't be able to bring them all home. Worried about them she takes them to an abandoned cabin where all she can do is is promise to come back the next day to check on them

Widower Elliot Colvin lived in the cabin. He doesn't expect to find seven puppies and the girl with a huge heart. As Abby and Elliot become friends she can't help but think how much better off her life would be if her mother was meeied to Elliot. Abbys father moves them hundreds of miles away. Her mother and Abby need to decide how long they are willing to live in unhappiness.

This is a great story of love, family, trying to take the right road to happiness. I love this story and the relationship between a grieving widow and a young girl who doesn't have an easy life. I highly recommend this book and author.

When I think of women's literary fiction, I think of books just like this one, that gives all the feels and can satisfies just about every reader's heart. This is a perfect books to snuggle up with on any day.

I loved this book! Like all other Catherine Ryan Hyde books I’ve read, this was a sweet, heartwarming, feel-good story. I loved all of the characters and would recommend this book to anyone looking for a sweet easy read with a happy ending. Predictable ending, but still very enjoyable. My readers will enjoy this book and the author, most of whose books we already have on shelf.
