This was my first time reading a book from the author but I am delighted to say I thoroughly enjoyed the story and I look forward to reading more books from the writer in the future!

Please look for the blurb of the book elsewhere here are my thoughts only. Thank you

It took me ages to get it started I felt there were too many characters and I couldn’t enjoy the story and make sense of all the apparent randomness of the beginning of the story, once I manage to push through the first 25% of the book actually enjoy it.

I’ve read a couple of books from the author and I felt dry sense of humor was kind of unique and fresh at the time. Here is a little more formulated and you can guess where this is going (if you know the author you’d know what I mean) I actually also downloaded the audio version as I wanted to hear the pronunciation of the names and places and then when I really liked the book best. I think the narrator did an amazing job to get the tone of the story and the characters so spot on.

I’d recommend it if you like a light hearted yet smart dry comedy-drama.

An extremely clever book which fits perfectly with Jonasson's hilarious writing styles. Ridiculous and far fetched, but enjoyable to the end.

Thanks to Netgalley, 4th Estate and William Collins for the digital copy of this book.

Sweet Sweet Revenge Ltd is set in Sweden and Kenya, and carries Jonas' typically witty writing style throughout. Without giving too much away, it's a cleverly written book about revenge.

I've read a few of his previous books, namely "The Girl Who Saved the King of Sweden", and "The 100 Year Old Man...", and his books are always a joy to read. If you like quirky, wry humour with plenty of twists and turns, I'd recommend this.

Loved all of Jonas previous offerings and I loved this one too, what a fab book!!!! It’s always a pleasure to receive one of his as I know I’m gonna enjoy the next few hours and while away my time in the best possible way! 5 stars all day long…

With the same clever wit and meticulous plotting that made The 100 Year Old Man a favourite, Sweet Sweet Revenge Ltd will have you laughing out loud even as you plot payback on those who have wronged you! Kevin's struggles will have you wincing in sympathy, while Ole Mbatian will be a character for the ages. Funny, clever and simply brilliant.

Another rollicking ride from the author of the 100 year old man. Sets a cracking pace, skirts along the edge of totally ridiculous, extremely far fetched, with great characters, art, and an escalator. I don't know what he is drinking when he comes up with these ideas, but they are always refreshing and entertaining!

Another farcical romp from Jonasson, with almost as many implausible and hilarious coincidences as The Hundred Year Old Man...(which as far as I'm concerned is a GOOD thing). Full of Jonasson's trademark dry wit, with a few laugh-out loud moments. If you enjoyed his previous books, this one will not disappoint.

Sweet Sweet Revenge Ltd is the latest from Jonas Jonasson, author of The 100 Year Old Man who Climbed out of a Window and Disappeared, Hitman Anders and the Meaning of it All and The Girl who Saved the King of Sweden. Jonasson writes quirky feel good novels that suck you in and his latest is no exception.

As the title suggests this is a story of revenge, Jenny has been swindled out of her inheritance by her husband Victor who has also abandoned his son Kevin in the Kenyan Savannah. Kevin eventually returns to Stockholm where inevitably he meets Jenny and then a trail of events is set inn place to get revenge on Victor. Add in an ex advertising executive who has set up a revenge business and the Masai warrior who adopted Kevin in Kenya and you have a chaotic cast of characters scheming and stumbling through the plot.

If you have read any of Jonasson’s earlier stuff you will love this, if you haven’t you are in for a treat.

Have loved reading Jonas Jonasson's books and this was no different!
The perfect read to raise the mood and leave you with strange looks from passers-by, as you laugh away to yourself. Eagerly await the next misadventures Mr Jonasson will bring us.

If you have ever read any of Jonasson’s books or seen any of the movies that have been made based on his books, then you have some sense what kind of absurd theatre you have in your hands.

It’s the kind of book you will read when you need something to distract you from the reality around you. At one point you are in Stockholm fantasizing how to punish your annoying neighbor or you are in Kenya savanna learning to be masai warrior or you are in Germany using llama as a guard dog or you are in Stockholm swindling a Art Gallery from its rightful owner or you are painting pictures in Kenya or you are dreaming about having electricity in your village, so you could install escalator to your shack … something is always happening and not a dull moment in sight.

A brilliant story with wonderful characters.

i enjoyed this funny romp through this tale of revenge and comeuppance. The plot is a little contrived but it is still very funny. I have enjoyed other books by this author - this one isn't quite as good but worth a read.

Title - Sweet Sweet Revenge Ltd

Author - Jonas Jonasson

Genre - Humor

When I had first come across Jonas Jonasson's The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared, I absolutely fell in love with his writing style and the subtle humor that so easily gelled up with the world history and character's development. It wasn't much of a surprise when its sequel turned out to be equally entertaining and it didn't make me think twice when I got my hands on his latest one. Dived in immediately with a bit of high expectations and here is my take on whether it was a hit or a miss.

Plot:

Victor is a pretty shrewd man who not only tricked his ex wife into gaining all her property but also is answerable to Kevin, his illegitimate son whom he had abandoned in the jungles of Africa. After Kevin turns into a legal adult and returns back to Stockholm after running away from his Maasai father, he crosses path with Jenny and decides to take revenge on Victor. In comes the firm, Sweet Sweet Revenge Ltd, run by Hugo who specialises in exacting revenge as a business and thus the plot thickens.

My Take on the Book:

As mentioned earlier, I had a good amount of expectations from this book. The author did deliver on quite a lot of expectations but there were its own shortcomings from this book. For starters, the plot though at best did try to be a streamlined was haphazard in quite a lot of places. Every new character were introduced from the start and was brought to a common point for the story to continue. The characters were pretty limited but they were not portrayed with much shade as they should have been.

What though did put me off at times was the convenience in the plot points that seemed too hard to miss. Whenever the characters were in a fix, the convenient route was apparently taken for their exit and it did not sit well. Kevin and Jenny were the only ones who were highlighted throughout the book and they did stand out well. Victor, the nemesis unfortunately felt rushed up in a lot of places and his character could have been given a bit more shade to add fun to him.

What lifts the book though is the humor that has been strewn throughout. The best humor came out of most unexpected places and that turned out to be quite a charm for the book. Pick it up if you are a fan of the author or just need a light-hearted book that does not need much to dwell upon.

My Ratings - 🌟🌟🌟💫(3.5 out of 5 stars)

Another excellent and funny book by Jonas Jonasson. I fell in love with his stories since I read The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared.
The story is as quirky as usual and Jonasson's irriverence makes this book highly entertaining.
Highly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine

When I started this book I was really not sure what to make of it. As I got further in what a joy the whole book was. So different, unusual and totally refreshing. Loved it. Thank you.

Love this author since reading the hundred year old man so was excited to read this new offering! There is plenty of humour and I love the theme of revenge. I think that a lot of people have probably thought that they would like to have their revenge on someone, but it rarely happens in reality.
The action mainly takes part in Sweden and Kenya. I loved the way that both countries were connected in the storyline. Ole Mbatian was by far the best character in the book. A definite five star off me ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A very typical Jonas Jonasson storyline - naivety, confusion, deception, mistaken identity, trusting individuals, tired policemen, loads of money and the far right all mishmashing together in the story. A farce from start to finish but he does it so well. One of my favourite comic authors

Successful advertising executive Hugo is bored and decides to set up his own company offering clients the ability to have revenge, it is fairly successful. Then along come Jenny and Kevin. Jenny has been swindled out of her large art inheritance through naivety, Kevin was left to die on the African savannah by his biological father - the same man, Victor. Between them the group come up with a plot to disgrace Victor but things don't always go to plan.
A new Jonasson book is a real treat but one which can divide readers. There is a certain cadence to the writing which is idiosyncratic and the plots leap around as a consequence. If the reader gels with this then they are in for a treat as the story is peppered with little treats - I loved the story of the llama and the chickens. Here the plot is pacy, madcap and completely bizarre but completely crazy and full of a joie de vivre sorely lacking in most novels.
